Great places to see and visit, although main hotel stay location was too far from some if the sites. Train ride twas too long so didn’t have a lot of time to spend at some of the destinations.

Generally very good. Really nice tour guide. Well organised. Friendly group atmosphere. Chunnel and French trains are amazing. Great way to see Florence and Pizza and Luca as we stayed in Montecasini,a small town nearby. On the downside there was too much rail travel on the way back - 3 days travelling for us. We didn't see anything of the Italian Riviera so it seemed a bit pointless coming back that way. I would have preferred to go back via Turin and spend a day or so there. Also the hotel plumbing in Montecasini was a bit dodgy. On the upside the free wine with the meal was nice and it had a grand piano in the lobby. The hotel in Turin was also amazing. Overall I would recommend this tour.

We had a great tour manager, she was so helpful and professional at all times the hotels in Turin & St Raphael were great, the one in Montecatini not so much. The Columbia lacks a communal lounge for hotel guests, the towels were thin, the room was cold. The food was average, the staff were fantastic very welcoming and helpful.

Cities visited terrific. Tour Manager excellent. Turin Hotel in Fiat Factory iconic. A lovely group of people to meet and share experiences with. Some problems with Trains so journey home was quite stressful. Why do people bring large suitcases which are difficult to get on and off trains ? Why go along south coast of France southwards on a coach when we were needing to travel North ? Seemed to be just filling a day with extra travel for no gain to the guests.

There were some amazing moments on the holiday, we did feel the group of 37 was too big, our guide, Jane, was amazing but must have been hard work. Many had different mobility issues which made it difficult to keep up, especially in the massive crowds in Florence, it was difficult to focus on the moment as you were trying to plan your route through the huge crowds. The weather wasn’t brilliant but that’s something you can’t plan for . Our favorite place was not actually part of the tour, on a free day we caught a train to Pestoli, authentic Italy full of local families. The trains were all very good but we found the holiday very full on and tiring . Compared to the 1st and last hotel rooms the main hotel room was disappointing, not quite how it sounded on the website, there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room. You had to either sit outside on the street under cover or a run down patio area on the 2nd floor which was disappointing. In the main the hotel food was good and the staff friendly. It’s a shame there wasn’t an extra night in St Raphael,lovely hotel, room and fabulous location. We made some new friends but would not go on a holiday like this again. We ticked a few boxes and it has given the confidence to our on thing in the future.

First hotel and last hotel are very good. However, the main hotel is poor and for this reason I wouldn’t recommend this holiday. I had a tiny room painted a deep blue and not even a chair to sit on!!! V disappointing.
