Fantastic experience. The Tour Manager Judy Mahon was a real star, her organisational skills and interaction with members of the group was second to none. The downside: no tea making facility at Colombia Hotel. No duvets in beds despite cold evenings, no lifts in train stations.

Fantastic from start to finnish, What an adventure! Wonderful Tour guide Judy Mahon , she worked wonders! Great Hotels, food & company, Excellent value

A great introduction to Tuscany. Walking tours of Florence and Sienna followed by time to explore for yourself, plus visits to Lucca and Pisa. The rail tour is based at the pleasant spa town of Montecatini. It includes two free days to explore as you wish, or just have a rest. Italian trains can be crowded and prone to delays, stations poorly signed and you may need help to use the ticket machines. The tour manager keeps everyone informed of travel arrangements and can advise on what to do.

I thoroughly enjoyed our tour but I didn’t really like the hotel in Montecatini. Reception staff were not very friendly. Restaurant staff, however, were very pleasant and helpful. Our tour representative was first class and expertly guided us seamlessly through everything. A big thank you to her.

Wonderful well organised holiday, Gave a true taste of Tuscany and time to revit Florence or do your own exploring. Train travel very comfotable, A tip - pack light as getting on and off trains with large suitcases not always easy.

Enjoyed sunny days and beautiful churches and getting to know some interesting people. Highlight was the 3 Tenors opera evening in the ancient spa in Montecatini. Some of the tours were too rushed and the train journeys were long and sometimes late. Would have liked more time to relax. Would have been nice to have 36 hours on the French Riviera rather than 16.

Great holiday. Fantastic sites and guides, great hotels, superb food. Our tour guide was a lovely lady, very knowledgeable and always available. I was one of a few solo travellers, she made sure we never ate alone, she made time for everyone.

Great Tour with Excellent tour manager (Ros) who manged to change a problem room in the hotel for us, and sorted out alternate travel as a rail strike was on going. Holiday was great as saw all the sights, Pisa & Florence, holiday is very train heavy first 2 and last day, even for seasoned GRJ customers, my advice would be too book in advance the museums for your free days like we did. Highlights for me was a great guide in SIenna, and for my dad Lucca & the last hotel in St Raphael in the marina was very enjoyable. Would book again with GRJ as excellent company to deal with

Well organised travel to our destination. Great hotels en route. The Montecatini hotel was more 3star but fine room short on drawers/shelves. Trip to Lucca and Pisa not enough time and I suspect we got off at the wrong station in Pisa.

It was a very enjoyable trip although quite hectic.The tours were 2 hours long plus walking to join them. The tour manager was lovely but not always as well prepared as she could have been. No maps and sketchy communication sometimes. Local guides were excellent

Beautiful part of Italy. Excellently managed tour. Outstanding hotels on 1st and last night. Main hotel good. Travel as expected but fewer bag transfers would be better. Good local guides in Florence and Siena. Both Florence and Pisa too packed by tourists.
