Enjoyed the trip, very sociable group, hotel very good, enjoyed the trips. However, the coach journey from the French station to the hotel was too long...2.30 hours, and be prepared for chaos at French passport controls at Gard de Nord.

Hotel excellent. Going to Sarlat on mkt day not a good idea. Places visited well worth the time.
Great Rail Journeys provided a very enjoyable holiday with much to see and do in good .company. The hotel was well situated and spotlessly clean and friendly. The tour manager was helpful and efficient. but the timetable was a bit tight at times , particularly so when carrying luggage, I would certainly hope to go with Great Rail Journeys again.
The visits offered gave a genuine overview of the region - geography, history, culture. There was adequate free time to do one's own exploration. The hotel was really lovely with a beautiful garden and pool outside. Inside the comfortable bar area with owner Jean-Luc in charge offered a space for chatting and trying the local beverages.

Hotel comfortable with good breakfast. Dinners underwhelming. Places visited interesting. Company excellent. Tour manager helpful. 2 days of travel there and back exhausting and will not be repeated.
Beautiful area of France. So green and picturesque. The architecture in the lovely golden stone is so well preserved.
Good hotel, nice local meals but some trips out were underwhelming eg train trip. Having 2 rest days seemed excessive, particularly when one was a Monday and most shops closed.

Lovely holiday. Very friendly group. Good tour manager. The last meal in the hotel at the end was very memorable … in a lovely garden lit with fairy lights , crystal glasses on table with a group who were all now good friends. Very lovely memory. All the places visited were charming. The gold soy in fact was charming.
It was a good experience. The hotel was great with a good selection for breakfast. We did some interesting visits although the main reason for my visit was to go to the prehistoric caves and we had to organise this ourselves. Les was it leader and he was very knowledgeable and organised.
World class scenery
Great itinerary, loads to do and learn. Terrific tour guide. Only little criticism would be the evening meal. Would have preferred a couple of options rather than set menu. Overall good.
Lovely hotel in a relaxing setting. Great tour guide and plenty of interesting places to visit. Visit the prehistoric caves if you can.
Great trip! Les was an excellent tour manager! Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Would have been 5 star if there had been a choice of menu for dinner.
Another Great Rail Journey for us and another wonderful experience. A great blend of excursions and free time with well chosen hotel and restaurants.

Catering arrangements were not fully explained. Dinner was a set 3 course menu. Bistro struggled to accommodate dietary needs even though assurances were given by GRJ at time of booking.
Overall a lovely itinerary, with plenty of time to explore Les Eyzies at our own pace. Group size a bit too large at 40 but your director did a good job of organisation. My reason for 4 stars is the luggage service - our suitcase still hasn’t been returned to us after 2 weeks and I certainly wouldn’t use the service again. Overall, a very pleasant holiday to a beautiful part of France.

Generally all went to plan, with good excursions and excellent management. At times more walking than I expected, particularly to evening restaurant meal. Also disappointed that coach transfers to and from hotel took double expected time due to altered destination rail station.
