This was a great trip, very well organised with a superb tour manager. We visited Durham, Beamish, Hadrian’s Wall, Wensleydale creamery and Hexham. All were highlights and also travelled on two trains. Well paced tour and accomodation was very good, food excellent and staff in hotel so helpful. Highly recommend.
Lovely hotel, in beautiful surroundings
I have previously sent a detailed review. This is the 4th holiday we have had with you and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them
The pace of the trip was just right by making a visit and then having free time after each one. The choice of places to visit was broad enough to interest everyone in the group. Personally, I found the meal portion sizes overgenerous but the hotel were all very pleasant and the hotel itself- dating from 1189 was interesting.
Situated in a good location so easy to travel to other destinations. Staff warm and friendly and food good. Catering Manager was extremely flexible, for example, on days of early starts guests asked for a take away breakfast rather than rush into the restaurant and she happily obliged, as did the chef. Nothing was too much trouble for them if you wanted something slightly different to what was on the menu for that evening. We happily stay there again and recommend to friends.
All aspects of the holiday were as written on the ticket and as enjoyable as we hoped. Our Guide in Durham brought together all developments of its history in a clear and very interesting way. Wensleydale cheese, the Roman fort and river crossing, the Open Air Museum and Trams and the Dales Railway were just perfect to visit. Very well done to our Guide and Mentor and also for the attention, cheeriness and service given by all the staff at Walworth Castle. An excellent few days.

We enjoyed the holiday. The hotel was very good. Terri are tour manager was excellent. The down side was not enough rail journeys. It was more a coach holiday.
Characterful hotel in a lovely well maintained setting. Superb service which made me feel welcome as an individual guest, not one of a crowd. Excellent food cooked to suit my needs. Every member of staff was charming and very courteous reflecting the ethos of the management. I loved it.
