Booking was very efficient & very quick

The person doing our telephone booking was very professional, friendly, efficient and organised.

Very polite telephone communication, and very helpful service. The staff seemed genuinely interested in getting a good result for the customer.

Helen was very knowledgeable and helpful, and advised us as to the suitability of our choice of holiday, and the extras we could add to make the trip very special.

Straightforward booking process. Brochure and website adequately described the chosen holiday.

Fabulous friendly but professional member of staff. All our questions were answered and we felt that our needs had all been taken into consideration. Would definitely recommend.

Do your homework. I recently completed a tour with Great Rail journeys and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. While the itinerary had potential, the execution was lacking in two major areas:
• The Hotels: one being below the standard promised. For the price paid, I expected much better quality and comfort. We had paper cups in our rooms to make hot drinks which was a serious health hazard.
• Restaurant: Below standard expected. Raw chicken was served.
• Train Logistics: Prospective travelers should be aware that you are responsible for hauling your own luggage on and off trains. This became a significant issue due to the layout of the carriages; we were often booked in upper levels with very steep, narrow stairs.
• Group Pace: With a large group, the 'slowest person' rule applies. Between the heavy bags and the difficult stairs, transitions were stressful and slow. We ended up helping those who were struggling.
If you have mobility concerns or expect a certain level of hotel quality, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

This is our first time booking a fly & rail trip. We booked for a trip in June, but the booking & customer service has been excellent.
And only recently have booked another trip to Florence Italy for September.
We will certainly tell you about our experiences once we return.

I always get to talk to someone quickly. Nice manner and the assistant made the booking seem easy and straightforward.

I financially well off and nearly 75 but still have a strong desire to travel but nobody to travel with. I particularly like rail travel but need to be escorted just in case. I love to be kept busy. You do all of that. I will work my way through your brochures in the next few years.

The service that I have received has been superb. Everyone that I have dealt with has been very professional and knowledgeable.

So far so good.
