We have'nt had a visit from Green Thumb since the 9th January. The lawn was full of Thistles and other weeds. Hence we had to treat the weeds and moss ourselvesrecently. Green Thumb's moss treatment in January didnt clear it
Its not enough for Green Thumb to treat the weeds once a year.
I expect our visit will be June which is far too late in our opinion.
Very dissappointed with Green Thumb .

I booked the scarification treatment for my front lawn towards the end of last year. That was it. On 15th April two operatives appeared, one began scarifying the lawn whilst the other just stood there. The man doing the work then tossed a few handfuls of grass seed down, and they both left. If they were there for 15 minutes that is a conservative estimate. My front lawn looks appalling. I have sent them two emails, one on 5th May and another today both with photos, with no response. I have been billed for scarification and lawn repair, anyone would think that the two came together, but no. I have withheld payment for the lawn repair as it quite obviously hasn’t been repaired, and I am not paying for something that hasn’t been done properly. The lawn in question is 3 sq meters.

I have rated my experience at 5 star but it is only due to the professionalism and service provided by Glyn Hargreaves one of the Sheffield Greenthumb operatives. The service from the company HQ at times falls short & communication is inconsistent.
I was going to review/stop my 20yr relationship with Greenthumb but Glyn has changed my mind thru his professional approach & the service he has provided, the company are very lucky to have people on the ground like Glyn who can provide a top class service.

I was very impressed with the way Robbie explained every treatment that my lawn needed. He was very friendly and happy and made my day. Thanks Anna Currie.

I had my lawn scarified, airiated and reseeded today by Dan Gregory and Lewis Peeke.
They did an excellent job and obviously very experienced and knowledgeable.
They even lent me a timer for the sprinkler so that the lawn is watered on a regular basis throughout the day.
I would highly recommend them.

GreenThumb cleaned my windows today and Ian Cooper did a brilliant job. No streaks, no smears — just spotless glass. Really professional finish and the place looks miles better. Highly recommend.

After several years of good service, the change to customer care and service quality recently is very disappointing. Phones are not answered, e-mails are not responded to, the treatments have become less effective and now, without any pre-warning, the rate I was to be charged for surface care suddenly shot up by almost 40%! Seems that the new owners do not value human contact, communication or service quality. I've cancelled my service plan completely

Whilst prices have increased considerably, there has been a clear decline in the quality of GreenThumb’s treatments over the last 18 months. Weed control now appears to be virtually non-existent — we have never had so many weeds in our lawn. However, the issue goes beyond the treatments themselves. Communication has been consistently poor, with emails often going unanswered and customer service falling well below a reasonable standard.
Earlier this year, GreenThumb came out to assess our lawn. Following their inspection, we were advised that part of it would require reseeding. We asked for this work to be carried out in March/April, yet someone only arrived today (15 May), having given us around 20 minutes’ notice via email.
On arrival, we were told scarification had not been booked and would cost an additional £150, on top of the £273 already being charged to reseed a relatively small area of lawn. Given that GreenThumb inspected the lawn, assessed the issue and quoted for the remedial work, I fail to understand why scarification was not identified and included from the outset.
Whether this decline is down to the local franchise, the wider business or something else, I do not know. What I do know is that loyal customers expect a far better standard of service, particularly after significant price increases and increased competition in the market. I know several GreenThumb customers who share the same frustrations. At this rate, GreenThumb risks losing long-standing customers.
I have requested that a manager contacts me to discuss the service we have received and to explain what GreenThumb intends to do to address these issues.

Something has recently changed at Green Thumb making my parents experience a 0 star rating if that was allowed. After years of great service from our local Franchise something has changed and we can no longer contact them direct. I've been ringing the local Franchise on my parent's behalf most days last week and this and whatever option I choose, I get in a very long Q with no answer at all. I wanted to discuss options for paying as there is no way my very elderly parents can cope with a direct debit and even more so after reading other trust pilot reviews. I am cancelling their treatments forthwith and will look for a local company who will actually talk to us. What a massive drop in service from what was a great company.

Great service from Gary and Shane from Aldershot branch. They were very helpful and knowledgeable with plenty of useful around re-seeding and lawn care in general - I was very impressed. Great team, thank you.

Having entrusted GreenThumb with my lawn, I expected them to target the weeds and the bare patches, but was told that this may be done at a later date.
Also having had the aeration done which took all of 10 minutes max at a cost of £85, I was then told that I should cut the lawn to displace the soil bungs.
Surely, this should all be part of the service.
I have booked the lawn refresh, which states that the lawn will look greener and any bare patches will be covered up as this procedure makes the grass grow sideways instead of upwards.
I will reserve judgement until it is done.

Terrible communication and customer service. Kept being given an appointment on a Tuesday even though I told them I'm at home on Wednesdays. Finally got an appointment today although no communication about time other than "am". Went to a fitness class at 7am got home 8.10am. Whilst I was home I later discovered a lawn report that had been posted through my door (after I got back) by James. He had turned up, made little or no attempt to contact the other four adults in the house, let himself into my garden without being invited and then just shoved a scribbled report through my door. No attempt to discuss the treatment options etc. I phoned the contact number to be offered another appointment on another day. I suggested James might want to phone me but no contact has been made. Appalling customer service.

Cancelled the services offered with Greenthumb last April/May 2025 as was told by a staff member that their products could be toxic to pets. My dog had became ill and I was naturally worried and wanted more information on this. The manager Stuart said "to give them one last try and I will look after you", so I agreed and assumed they would continue to offer the services I'd agreed to. Greenthumb did not visit my property at all after that, my grass is bare in places and in other areas overgrown with weeds. It is in very poor condition and clearly has not been serviced for over a year. Greenthumb had, I am informed by my bank, set up a new DD without my consent and consequently have been taking over £15 each month since. I am now trying to get back almost £200 from them. I have tried all day for the past two days to get this resolved with Greenthumb East of England and also their H/O. They don't pick up the phones and just leave you in a queue for hours at a time. I have sent two emails to them and received acknowledgements back, both have different reference numbers and still Greenthumb have not responded properly. My bank are investigating this malpractice, however in my opinion Greenthumb are an awful company and I urge anyone to think twice before hiring these charlatans. In the end, my dog passed away and now my thoughts are to have the garden returfed by a proper company. I will NEVER return to Greenthumb again.
