I have waited 15 years to drive always saying to myself I would do it every year and never did. But this year I finally started my journey with Greer's gears. Chris from Greer's gears really helped me gain confidence and was always patient,kind, professional & funny to break any nervous nerves I had while learning to drive. Over time I gained amazing confidence and greatly enjoyed every lesson I had which then led me to securing my pass on my test first go. So thank you Greer's gears for believing in me and making me strive to drive! I would highly recommend you guys for anyone learning to drive.

After my 16 month old car broke down for the 3rd time with an electrical charging fault, Greers Gears Dual Control hire were a life safer. I hired one of their automatic dual control cars for the 3 weeks it took the garage to be able to remedy the fault of the alternator not charging fully. Great service from the guys and very helpful, with me in arranging collection from Ayr, driving there from Fife, with short notice from the new car supplier/garage and late notification from them that my car was fixed. The guys bent over backwards and even drove me to the Ayr Train Station to return home after drop off. Thanks guys

Easily the best driving instructor I’ve had (I’ve had five as I’ve moved around a lot for work!). Chris’ tuition instilled confidence in my driving abilities, not only for the practical test but also going forward as an independent driver. Can’t recommend enough!

Greer’s Gears was my 1st choice after reading reviews and researching. After speaking to the staff initially when discussing my lessons, I knew it was the right choice. I met Chris on my 1st lesson and instantly booked more lessons. Chris made me feel relaxed and more confident after each lesson. He is very thorough detailing every manoeuvre and rules of the road. Built up a professional relationship with Chris. If it wasn’t for his time and dedication to make sure I was test ready, I passed 1st go. Chris was really professional, sympathetic and accommodating due to my own tuition car requiring major work one message to Chris and he supplied a fantastic Audi A1 for as long as I needed at a reasonable price with no hassles at all. Chris was really easy to deal with and the car was spotless and ran perfectly. Dropping the car was no problem either. I felt very lucky to have this service in my area and would have no hesitation recommending Greers Gears for the dual control car rental anytime. Fingers cross don’t need the service again but it is comforting to know it is there if needed and is very reliable.

Chris Greer was my driving instructor and he has changed my life forever. I never thought I could drive due to having a disability but after having an assessment done to see if I could drive I was told I could drive with hand adaptations. I then started my lessons with Chris using a push/pull leaver on the right for break(push) and accelerator(pull) and then a Bluetooth lollipop grip to help me steer(similar to the steering ball).
Chris was very understanding and helpful during all my lessons. He made me feel safe and confident. Chris pushed me out my comfort zone when I needed it getting me to tackle things I thought I wasn’t ready for when he knew I was including my test which I passed first time.
I will forever be grateful for all the help and support but most importantly giving me my independence to be able to go out and take my 2 girls out places without having to get my husband or friends to drive. Thank you for everything Chris

Excellent service from Greer’s Gears garage service when I recently required a set of dual controls to be removed and a new set sourced and fitted for my new driving instructor car. Pedals were sourced and priced and I was kept informed of delivery schedule. Installation was scheduled at a convenient time (evening) and they even returned my car directly to my house. Would highly recommend.

Chris has been extremely helpful in helping me to pass my driving test first time. I have been provided all resources and given high quality learning. Couldn’t recommend a nicer guy. Cheers Chris!

Chris sorted me a hire car while mines was off the road for repairs. Best part was he got me the same car , my pupils were already comfortable driving it because it was the same. They fixed my car and I've had no issues since. I'm very grateful and I'm sure I'll be back in the future if need be!

First time pass for my daughter. Well done to her and to Chris for getting her through it. Only slight concern was a few lessons were missed due to unforeseen circumstances but I suppose these things happen. Chris gave extra free lessons to cover these Overall all’s well that ends well 👍

Chris was an amazing instructor, he helped get my freedom (my license!). He is understanding,patient and just a really kind guy! He tailors his lessons to your learning style! 100% would recommend his business and him as an instructor.

Just passed my test first time with Greers Gears. I’m in my 50’s and was very anxious about learning. Chris was absolutely amazing and made me feel at ease from the very first lesson. He gave me the skills and confidence to pass and I really enjoyed our lessons. If you’re thinking about it, but feel anxious, definitely go to Greers, can’t recommend enough 😊

Greers gears helped me pass my test, I learned when I first turned 17 in a manual car after failing my first test I stop learning I eventually decided to start again with an automatic car, I got my first lesson as a Christmas gift and went out with Chris straight away he told me I could drive and we should get my test booked, he gave me the confidence in my driving and never judged me when I made a mistake, I couldn’t of passed without the help and support I received from greers gears and would recommended them to anyone who is wanting to learn to drive they take the time to get to know you and your learning styles.
