Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers frequently encountered issues with their orders, including damaged or missing goods, and products that were substituted with unsuitable alternatives, even when "no substitutions" was specified. Delivery services were often unreliable, with orders being delayed, not arriving at all, or being delivered to incorrect addresses. People also reported problems with the delivery staff, noting that some drivers did not follow instructions or were unhelpful. Some people were dissatisfied with the customer service, finding it difficult to resolve issues like refunds for missing items. However, some customers also noted that it was convenient to have groceries delivered to their door, and a few reviewers had positive experiences with specific drivers who were professional and cheerful.

Always delayed Beyond convenience

Every single time I have ordered from walmart, they have not let me know my order is delayed until after the anticipated delivery date. Three times this has cost me significant stress and inconvenience as I ordered time sensitive items for specific projects or trips. Walmart is one of the worst companies, they should not be selling things that they're shipping from China they should only be shipping from their us-based stores if you are in the us. Absolute trash don't trust them using other delivery service.

They lost me for good

This has been very convient for me for a really long time since I couldnt drive until 3 days ago. They mixed me, and some other persons grocceries up, and left their grocceries on my doorstep. I was wondering why the money didnt took. :/ Plus our names was on the products, and they had to take pictures. No excuses. They lost my trust for good. I dont wanna wait a whole 4 hours, wondering if Im going to be getting my grocceries or someone elses. Paying the delivery fee and tipping is not worth that stress.

Walmart could never find my apartment

Walmart could never find my apartment. They would call and complain they couldn't find my apartment, even though they had a GPS! Then they would deliver to the wrong freaken apartment. And they use delivery people that can barely speak English. So how can they read a GPS? I would not recommend them.

After almost a year of biweekly groceries I have gotten 2 good orders. Missing items that I’m
Charged for, melted warm ice cream, chicken left on front porch in 90 degree weather. I have never gotten cold food that is supposed to be cold. They do not use coolers! One shopper ties all the bags together so a senior like myself has to go out with scissors, cut up the bags, and put groceries in other bags to bring in. I can’t pick up heavy bags all tied together. Awful awful delivery!
The delivery is free so I continue and pray each time that I get everything in good condition.

Horrible customer service

We got groceries from Walmart delivered to our house that were supposed to go to a different address. They called their customer service, they were not able to help, there was no identification in the bags, and then they started yelling at my wife that she should have the name of the customer. Such horrible customer service

Consistently poor service

My wife has significant mobility issues and we pay to use Walmart deliveries. It is not something we can recommend. Products have been damaged, missing or substituted for items not even in the same food group. Delivery drivers dump and run, have challenges with the language and zero customer service. Supermarkets in Europe have company branded light trucks with company employees and it's very polished. Using temp drivers in private vehicles is not viable. Incredibly poor service we will be canceling and not renewing.

I would give 0 stars

I would give 0 stars, if I could. Deceptive and incorrect information and practices abound at this horrible company. Do not order ANYTHING if you actually want to receive it…and they don’t credit your accounts for 10 days…even though the issue was on their end! They deserve every negative word ever spoken about them.

A+ delivery experience

I was hosting a neighborhood event at noon on Labor Day including ice cream and wondering how I was going to pick up what I needed while also getting the setup work done. I decided to try having Walmart deliver everything, although I was dubious about it going smoothly on the holiday morning. My order was fairly complex and I was quite specific about what I wanted - for example, one brand of ice cream, and one particular vanilla when they make half a dozen varieties of vanilla. I ordered a total of 18 items from 7 different products, and asked for delivery from 9 to 11 am with no substitutions. At 8:31 I got a message that Jessica was starting on my order. Through the app I was able to start a chat with her and pointed out that I wanted specific varieties with no substitutions, and she said she was picking them, no problem. Also through the app, I was able to see each item as she picked it and follow along each step in the order. As it happened, one product that I'd ordered 6 of they had only 4 on hand, but that was acceptable. In addition to seeing the detail status automatically update in the app, I received texts telling me that 2 items were unavailabe for one product, that the order was on its way, etc. In the app, it told me when she had gone to checkout and when she as on her way, and to expect delivery at 8:48. It then displayed a map that let me track her progress as she drove across town. This was real time and detailed - I could tell when she missed the light at one intersection. Sure enough, at 8:48 she arrived with my order. I thanked her for working on Labor Day and she was upbeat and cheerful. This was as good an experience as I could hope for!

Walmart delivery service review

I tried Walmart delivery service today for the first time, as I was recovering from surgery and unable to drive or lift more than 5 lbs. Unfortunately, this service was not helpful. I had ordered 21 items and only 7 arrived. I had 2 substitutions which I had given permission for and the brands I chose were used so that part was fine. However, the fact that half the order was missing was really disappointing. In addition I received two containers of Cool Whip Zero Sugar that were not mine, an item that I've never used. I called the local store and was told to call 1-800-WALMART. When I asked the staff member to please give me the full phone number I was told "It's 1-800-WALMART." I called the number and got a staff member who was efficient at giving me a refund for what was missing, but who seemed in a hurry to get off. I asked if efforts were ever made to replace or supply the missing groceries from the order, and was told no, they only give refunds. I had signed on for a trial month of Walmart+ and after having this experience, I immediately canceled the trial, as I never intend to order through Walmart delivery service again. For me it was a combination of mistakes made with putting together the order, the driver not following my request that he knock on the door and delivering the wrong items and missing half of the things (unclear if driver also put together the order) and the lack of concern at the customer service end. I did not sense any desire to change or improve things. I would definitely not recommend this service to anyone, especially if you're completely dependent on it to receive your groceries or items. This particular store was in the Triangle area of North Carolina, however in reading reviews it seems to be the same experience in many parts of the country.

Missing/Damaged Items

In the past, I've had several damaged items but today was the worst delivery yet. I placed an order for 10 items - just 10 - and the order was missing 4 items.

Laziness!

For the past 2 months I have had two…

For the past 2 months I have had two orders out of nine be correct. One never even showed up. Just disappeared after they were showing up in transit. Items are missing, even more than half of what was ordered is missing.
Poor quality in pulling fresh produce, app and email give three different status' on deliveries.
Based on their program, ordering and delivery style, it seems apparent they are trying to cut into Amazon's market share.
Well, you could not be off to a worse start. I went from Walmart being okay as a place to shop, to HATE WALMART at all costs now.
Good luck getting help. After you spend an hour putting your order together, waiting 4-6 hours for it to arrive, if it does, it's missing half the stuff. You call or get on chat, spend 20 minutes getting a human because the automated won't work when half your stuff is missing, then you get a foreigner who tells you how important you are, the best customer, and then just tells you they will refund you.
They tell you to go back online and reorder and start the whole crazy mess again. NO THANK YOU!

I'd give negative stars if possible

If you live in a new neighborhood or are not on Google maps, DO NOT GET DELIVERY! These morons will just drive to whatever sounds the closest to your actual address. The driver also will not read any notes which tells them specific directions, landmarks to google, and how to reach me. Trust me they still won't check messages or answer calls. Example: my address is 1 North Freedom Court. Well that address isn't registered yet with Google maps, so they just go to Freedom Drive and leave your items at a random house. They also take a super close photo of your groceries so you cannot make out the surroundings which allows them to get paid and claim they dropped off at the correct location. Even when they do finally call you back, they will claim they cannot come to your correct address to meet you or else they won't get paid. You will have to drive to them. The driver even had the nerve to tell us that he would wait 20 minutes for us to come to him if he was getting a decent tip. In the end it was my fault really for thinking walmart could do anything competent. Trust me, if Sam Walton was still here, this definitely would not be one of "Sam's Choice"

Why would Walmart

Why would Walmart, one of the biggest chain, not offer tap and pay? We had a whole cart filled with stuff and had to walk away. How embarrassing. Get with modern technology Walmart!

Terrible

Terrible. My car broke down and I haven't been able to go grocery shopping. I decided to try delivery since it seemed like a good option. I was wrong, when I was able to submit my payment they said it would arrive in 2 or less hours. I waited and got several emails about how it got delayed, I tried being patient but soon hours turned into a whole day. I didn't sleep a wink so I could receive the delivery and it never came! I decided to cancel the order and try another store, but they are actually withholding the refund! They said they need a few days to process it! Don't shop on Walmart.com, it will just lead to disappointment and stress.
