The contact from Gro post surgery has been very limited, I've had some questions and I'm looking forward to my next appointment to check in with the team. It's been a very odd year so I'm sure this is just part a parcel of 2020.

What a terrific team.
I was very nervous coming into Melbourne Gro clinic, I didn’t know what to expect. Having said that, Sarah, who was my consultant was patient, understanding and with genuine empathy.
I also spoke with Donna and Jonathon and both were very enthusiastic to answer all of my follow up questions the next day and also said they are always here to help make this experience an exciting and happy one.
The Aurora of the clinic was calm warming and the highest standards of cleanliness.
I’m very excited and I have decided to book my Hair transplant on the 5th of December 2020 and I can’t wait.

I met with Marius at your Brisbane clinic. He provided me with an in depth consultation by examining my hair as well as answering all my questions regarding the FUE hair transplant procedure, in addition to the benefits of combining this procedure with PRP and LED treatments.

This has been the most amazing experience of my life! The team were so amazing and unlike most appointments I actually looked forward to my checkups! And not to mention the success of the transplant as well. No one can tell I've had a transplant it's so amazing and has given me a new found confidence.

It was a very good procedure with very little discomfort. The donor area took a little while to recover but the area was not noticeable. The transplanted area had some slight redness for around 2 months but recovered well and has thickened up nicely. No one even commented on me having anything done.
I am looking to have a second procedure to fill in the middle to crown area soon.

The process leading up to and during the procedure was satisfactory, no complaints there except for one detail: other than to cover up some of the crown area my other goal was to cover up a scar from an earlier procedure elsewhere. I understand that this all depends on the number of obtained hair follicles however I was told after my consultation and review that the latter was achievable. At no point later was I told that this was not the case. While I ended up having most of the crown patch covered, the scar was not even touched. My main issues however arose post procedure. Not once but twice I developed very large sebaceous cysts, the first one removed by their in house GP, which left an unsightly bald ‘patch’ which has only slightly covered. The same with the second and so the overall result was not what I had expected. I was told these were not related to the procedure however it seems too much of a coincidence that I got them both straight after my procedure (this did not occur on my first procedure performed elsewhere many years prior). Overall not the most positive experience, especially considering what I paid (almost 20k so not cheap!). I would say otherwise if they had at least attempted to resolve the issue and/or provide some form of compensation in the form of a follow up procedure to rectify the issues. Hoping that they may still want to provide a solution to this otherwise my review will remain as is.

Update 28/08/22:
Following my original review, I was offered follow up treatment to treat the above issues, as well as to attend to the original issue being the scar. This treatment occurred on 1/4/21.
Over a year has lapsed since this treatment and, while the experience and staff were both good, the end result has again unfortunately fallen short of my expectations. I know a lot is talked about regarding “expectations”, however I am referring here to the expectations set forth in my initial consultation for this second treatment. I simply wanted the scar to be covered and I was told this was achievable.
Almost 18 months on, I still have a “patch” of very fine hair on my crown (I’ve asked if I should be using Finasteride for this however given that the focus of the treatment was the scar I was told this was not necessary) - as a side note, I did also receive some donor hairs to this area. The scar itself, while there have been some hairs implanted and that remain, overall is still visible on a short cut. The change overall has been negligible. Happy to supply photos to demonstrate this and I’m sure if viewing them anyone would agree that the result is not an entirely satisfactory one.
Based on the above, my rating can increase from two to three stars due to the clinics offer to provide follow up treatment. In terms of the new treatment, I can give this three stars and will do so in a separate review.

So I did about a years worth a research before making my choice to go with GRO. I went to every surgeon in Sydney that can perform the operation. I sat down and spoke with all them over a few months. When I sat down at Gro and spoke with Sally, I knew that was where I would be doing it. They are by far the most professional and experienced company that provides this service in Australia. So for those of you who do not actually know what a hair transplant procedure consists of it’s quite the intricate and in-depth process. All Gro’s surgeries are performed by a surgeon. If you ask the others you will find that nearly all of them are performed by a technician (a Beaty therapist or a nurse) If you were going to get a tattoo you wouldn’t let someone who is not qualified do it, would you? You would want a master artist do it wouldn’t you, it’s with you for life... GRO is your master artist. The best of the best. For your new hair that’s with you for life. I couldn’t be more happy with the results of my hair transplant. Best decision I ever made.
