GRUNDIG GFN1671G Tall Freezer - atrocious tatty finish
We bought a GRUNDIG GFN1671G Tall Freezer, Graphite.
There's a lot not to like about this product.
-It feels light and with the wheels on the back it slides around on the tiled floor when you close the door.
-There's no light, no thermometer - for a freezer costing £550 I would have expected at least a thermometer to show the operating temperature
- On the top, there's some plastic lid thing on the top of the metal body that is just awkward and looks like an afterthought.
- The finish is atrocious - the sides look like they've been sprayed with two different colour greys and the front door has marks from where a chemical reaction has happened between the tape that holds the door shut in transit and the grey finish - it is impossible to remove.
Because of the way it looks (a really tatty product) it is being returned & exchanged for a different brand. It's a hassle I could do without. The message is: don't buy Grundig if you are looking for quality. Back in the day they used to make good quality electronics, but I understand they are now just a brand of Beko.
Grundig tall larder fridge
Bought a tall larder fridge in 2017 pipes are blowing rust into fridge on food and is no longer cold and the temperature display hasn't changed?? Not connected internally obviously just for show. Engineer said not repairable need a replacement (common problem apparently). Have had to buy temporary replacement because neither Grundig or Curry's have contacted me with a replacement!! Supposed to have a 5 year warranty.

Bought a fridge/freezer with 5 year warranty in December 2018. It has been faulty twice now, we reported the latest fault (stopped working as a fridge or freezer) and we were told that it would take nearly 3 weeks for someone to come and repair. I was given an email address to contact regarding the complaints procedure, the messages just 'bounce' back. Despite double and triple checking the email address, they still won't send. I have resorted to sending a letter by post to their head office. The customer care staff are at a loss to help you and are unable to put you in contact with managers etc. It was suggested to me to contact the retailer if I wasn't happy with the service and ask for a replacement, this I did, but they stated that I needed an "uplift" number from Grundig to do this. Grundig won't give me the "uplift" number as it had to come from a manager at head office.............
They will not give me a direct number to speak to the head office and it can take up to 3 days for them to get back to me. We're still waiting. Grundig appliances are not cheap and they are marketed as having great aftercare, the 5 year guarantee isn't worth the paper it is written on. I will never buy from this company again!

Bought a dishwasher just over a year…
Bought a dishwasher just over a year ago and it broke down 3 weeks ago like all the other reviews engineer comes out orders the wrong part chase them up and get told someone will call the next day and guess what they don’t. I have been promised a new dishwasher on 3 occasions and each time I call to try and action this they say that’s not what I’ve been told or that’s not what was said. I have asked to speak to a manager and told no one is available on every occasion I have called. They have today used the coronavirus as an excuse for the parts not coming in even though this all started before boarders were closed. We are now going to contact the supplier as if this was a small appliance we would be able to just take it back.
Absolutely appalling repair procedures
Absolutely appalling repair procedures, I cannot call it a service as there is no customer service involved. I have been without a dishwasher for over 5 weeks now. I have had 3 engineer visits, all saying the previous engineer had ordered the wrong part and each engineer ordered another one. I have had to chase these orders up on all 3 occasions, at a cost to myself for the lengthy phone calls, and I still do not know when this will be resolved! I had always believed Grundig to be a reputable company, but I was obviously misinformed. It is also impossible to try and find the complaints procedure on their website, but thankfully I found trust pilot where I could vent my utter despair and anger. I will not be recommending Grundig to anyone

Dishwasher arrived without salt lid…
Dishwasher arrived without salt lid (before Christmas) so I had to wait until after Christmas until they sent me one (couldn't use it). Bought an American style fridge freezer and it seems to be ok. Annoying thing is, I'm trying to register for extra warranty like the pamphlets tell me too and the button does not work on the website. Check your twitter there are other customers with the same issue. So annoying!
Grundig Washing machineGWN37430W
I am nearly 77 and have had quite a few washing machines over the years. I can honestly say that I absolutely love this 2 month old washing machine , It is easy to select and modify programmes, it is quiet.. I run mine programmed during the night as I am on the white cheap rate meter. It is easy to drain the water when finished with a handy little hose at the bottom. At this early stage I cannot fault it. The only thing I do miss is the 1600 spin. But hey, that's not the end of the world. It is the best washing machine I have ever bought. Just hope it stands the test of time for the higher than average price.

Can add to to what already has been said, abdolute cowboys. Only reason they give you 5 yeara warranty is because you'll be waiting for your engineer for most part, and you will, because the machines are absolute disgrace.

We bought the matching toaster and kettle a couple of weeks ago. Kettle is ok but toaster is totally rubbish! It simply does not toast. If you have it on maximum time it just about colours the bread but by then it’s dry and not good. Mid way setting and it comes out as white as it went in.

They have fobbed me off and lied at every opportunity. I have had to call them 10 times to find out what's going on. An engineer came out and apparently ordered the part..a week later I hadn't heard from them so I rang them only to find that he hadn't ordered it at all. No apology and no solution. They simply couldn't care less. AVOID AT ALL COSTS ....TOTAL RIP OFF!!

Utterly useless
Utterly useless. Bought a Grundig combi-microwave oven 4 weeks ago as it appeared to have the functions we needed. Installed it and it blows cold air at you exactly at eye-height! Infuriating - did they not even test it before designing? Microwave utterly useless. Grill doesn't cover the roof of the oven so equally useless...Now has developed a fault so will see what their 1-star "customer service" gives.

What an absolute disgrace of a company. I bought a Fridge and Freezer for nearly 1200£ from Currys. They look like an American Fridge freezer but bigger still , so we opted to buy these and give our 17yr old Samsung a retirement , not one problem with the Samsung. Anyway , after only 3 years we have had a problem this summer with the Fridge which took 5 weeks to solve , rust coming out the vents and saying it was wrong parts used. Now our Freezer is faulty for a second time in the 3 years , 3 faults in 3 years , an absolute shambles and complete rip-off. If I knew it was Beko I would never have bought this shi..
All wrong that companies can have another companies name on the product.
15 days without a fridge or freezer
£1100 American style fridge freezer written off within 14 months of purchase! Problem started when I noticed water dripping from the ice dispenser, opened the freezer to see all food had semi defrosted. Fridge was warm running at 14c, grundig do not cover any food spoilage…called the helpline and explained and they arranged an engineer to attend 3 days later. To cut a long story short the engineer misdiagnosed the problem, leading to a 5 business day wait for parts that weren’t needed while my wife and I lived out of a carrier bag hung on the back door! I called the customer service line everyday and all they did was fob me off saying it was the engineers responsibility now not there’s. They literally read off the screen showed no empathy, when I asked multiple times to speak to a supervisor or manager I was told no. At the end of the day you can live without a tumble dryer or dishwasher, but a fridge is a different story and there should be some sort of priority for these jobs. 2nd engineer attended on day 12 to tell me he was writing my fridge off! I then was told I needed to wait a further 48 hours for a phone call to receive a code that I could take to curry’s for a replacement with no delivery or taking away the broken one covered! Curry’s were excellent and helped us out , but I was still left £130 down after purchasing a new one. If you are reading this please keep well clear of grundig/beko they are a terrible company with awful customer service and 2nd rate machines. Never again!
Freezer sticks on defrost but it’s normal according to Paul @ Grundig
Bought a fridge freezer from Curry’s last November, yesterday we noticed it was leaking water from the ice dispenser, when we opened the freezer door all the food was defrosted. Called Grundig, on hold for 30 minutes only to be dealt with the most unhelpful, arrogant person, Paul. He was not interested, when we asked to speak to a manager there was none available......he said it was not uncommon for these appliances to get stuck on defrost and we had been unlucky, because the appliance has started working again they will not send an engineer out........so right on Christmas when you need it most we have an unreliable fridge freezer which apparently is ok according to Paul at Grundig customer service.
How on earth is this ok??
Stay well clear, wish I had seen this site before we made the purchase...
Damage by engineer!
Purchased a fridge freezer with reversible doors from Currys. 3 visits from Currys engineers (who didn't know how to reverse the doors, even though I had paid £35 extra for this service) later I rang Grundig to be told they send an engineer to reverse the doors not Currys. The engineer came out reversed the doors and in the process damaged my dishwasher. I have tried to get Grundig on the phone twice now with noone answering. I have tweeted, no reply. Messaged them on Facebook, no reply. Messaged on the website, no reply.

Absolutely awful customer service. Fighting through hoops to get to someone being sent out to repair the dishwasher which is only four months old. Asked me a pile of questions which I told him I had already done the trouble shooting for. He then said I need to call back after I have done the trouble shooting and would not listen to a word I said about it. Disgusting service. Never ever again!!! I had no idea GRUNDIG is BEKO or would NEVER have purchased this crap
