They have advertised Amethyst cruise with a competitive price. After I booked it, I was told it is not available. They offered Ambassador or La Casta day tours. I chose La Casta. I wanted to visit their listed Hanoi office address to pay for my booking, but it seems it is non-existent at the listed address. I have paid it with my credit card on their link. Then I have not received any vouchers. They did not answer their Whatsapp. Finally, I got a hold of them on their listed phone number. They have promised to send the vouchers, but still did not send it. I have called La Casta and raised the issue. La Casta asked for correspondence proof with Halongbaytours emails and whatsapp messages. Finally, I got it 1 day before our trip. I found out that prices on Klook were 40-50USD cheaper for same ship for same program. The actual trip was nothing special. Typical conveyor belt tourism, crowds, average meal, average boat and average services. I do not recommend it.

They appear to have a great website but it is not live.
They took my booking and deposit, then requested £120 extra a few days later, claiming the original 3D2N cruise was full.
Still waiting for a full refund.

On July 19, 2025 a boat capsized due to thunderstorm and 37 people were killed.

Halong Bay Tours kept pushing for us to take the trip. The government closed the bay and we did cancelled and was promised a full refund but 3 months later no refund and they ignore me completely.

Halongbaytours is a legitimate English speaking site and has always worked for me for affordable cruises. The one posted on trust pilot appears to be a copycat, and non English.

This is an amazing cruise operator!! My contact was Mrs Jolie. We booked a package hotel+ cruise with Azalea and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend to use them if you want to visit Hanoi and Halong Bay. This is one of the greatest experience I’ve had in my life. Unforgettable moments.

This was the first time I have been Ha Long Bay. I remembered at middle summer last year! I have had a short tour with Halongbaytours.com. Their staff were friendly and professional all the time of tour! They helped me more useful information about Halong Bay and Vietnamese.
I will recommend to my family and my friends come here in next time!

we were a group of 6 arranging an independent tour to vietnam, Kami organised a 3N stay at the tirant hotel hanoi (recommended) and a 2N cruise in halong bay with indochina sails(recommend them as well). Also private transfers from airport to hotel and from halong bay direct to airport. Everything worked perfectly and on time and was far more cost effective than trying to do it directly myself. Always responded quickly to e mails and gave advice when vietnam airlines randomly changed flights (as they are prone to do). Would definitely recommend this company.

I contacted Lisa by e.mail and she arranged a 2 night Halong Bay cruise and a 2 day 1 night tour of the Mekong Delta.
Both of these tours were fantastic, and the accommodation and organization including meals and transfers was perfect.
I would recommend this company to anyone wanting tours within Vietnam.

I wanted to travel over the 4 days from Chinese New Year to Hanoi and wanted to included a cruise to the Halong Bay. As in Vietnam at the same time there is the Tet festival, the Vietnamese New Year, I read that a lot of tour operator are not providing any service. Very quick I was falling on Blue Dragon Tours which I contacted, which I did not regret! I got replies very quickly and very patiently they answered ALL my questions and tried to find the best planing for me, that I decided to take an all inclusive package with them including pick up from the airport to the hotel, pick up next morning for the cruise to Halong Bay, transfer back and also transfer back to the airport. The hotel they proposed me was fantastique (Medallion Hotel) with very friendly and helpful people and the cruise was also perfect organized! Nothing to complain! They helped me as well with the VISA. Everything quickly via Email. My trip was a big pleasure and I enjoyed it a lot! Thanks Blue Dragon Tours! Thanks Kami!

We wanted a hassle-free vacation and that's what we got. We had a 10 days trip starting from Saigon to Da Nang, Phong Nha, Ha Noi and Ninh Binh. Upon contacting Linh, she quickly developed an itinerary which covered everything we wanted to see and was still within our budget. The company was very flexible in adjusting to our needs. We had some little hiccups here and there, but Huong, the hotline agent, was very responsive and got all the problems resolved fairly quick. I'd definitely recommend the company to my friends and family :)

I chose the company by chance after reviewing tour operators for Halong Bay.
We were a party of 6 and apart from our 3 day trip in Halong Bay, with Paradise Cruises (highly recommended also), our trip planner - Kami, organised a great tour in Hanoi, with a first rate enthusiastic guide and also all the transport whilst we were in the north of Vietnam. Everything worked like clockwork.
I had also asked them to arrange our tour in HCMC and this was done wit a partner company and again this was faultless.
We especially enjoyed the lunch stops, both in Hanoi and Saigon. Excellent food and as ever in Vietnam, charming service.
We love he country and will return and certainly use your company again as well as strongly recommend to our friends who are now also looking to visit Vietnam.

We wanted a hassle-free, minimal-tour guide and free and easy holiday in North Vietnam. We've also planned out a draft itinerary according to what we think is best. We conveyed it all to Ms. Sunny (our agent) and got EXACTLY what we wanted. She advised us on several things which would made our trip even more hassle-free, as well as friendly on our budget. There were no unnecessary tourist traps and fluff that we had to spend or waste our time and money on. The guides that were with us on some trips are reliable and made sure security was the top priority. I would recommend ANYONE to Halong Bay Tours anytime!
