Halon Tax service is the VERY BEST I have used after 20 years with 4 separate CPA/Lawyer firms.

Super Easy and fast and accurate.
The User Dashboard is easy and useful.

I have always been impressed with Halon since day 1. I really appreciate our relationship and can not say enough about this dependable team. I would highly recommend Halon Tax to anyone looking for the best of breed accounting and tax preparation services for small businesses.

We appreciate the fact that we can schedule meetings and interact online with Halon. They have been very responsive and we are happy with their service.

I actually LOVED Halon Tax when I first hired them at the end of 2019. I also bought audit protection for an additional cost.

However soon after they completed my tax return, I got a very awful email that was generically letting everyone know that they had tried a service they didn’t like providing and they wouldn’t be doing that anymore. I responded and asked for some clarification. A personal message from Christopher told me that they no longer even wanted to work with me because my business isn’t the kind they wanted to work with. He was rude and I was angered by both the abrupt change, the complete dismissal and the rude clarifications.

I had every intention of working with them long term which is why I trusted them. Again, I LOVED this service when I signed up.

Today I needed my return and tried logging into the portal. I wasn’t able to access the returns they prepared for me. I asked if I was just missing something. Again, I got a nasty-gram from Christopher that if I didn’t pay for continued service they wouldn’t work with me anymore and I would have to go to the IRS to get the return.

I will NOT EVER work with this company. I do NOT recommend them. Save yourself the trouble and use a company that puts customers first.

Wish I had better things to say, we really did try to give them a chance. The final straw was when they changed their packages to increase prices and end their "partner program" discount in an attempt to undercut the bookkeepers that brought them their clients in the first place. Fortunately none of ours were very pleased with Halon anyway and decided to leave them rather than us. Ultimately we had clients paying a subscription for monthly and/or quarterly advisory and planning services that were never provided. They blamed it on us needing to provide information, but we always provided anything requested within 24-48 hours, and wouldn't hear back for another month or two with new information they needed but hadn't mentioned. By August, exactly 0 of our clients had received any of these monthly/quarterly services before we gave up. How is tax planning supposed to be helpful when it isn't even provided until the year is almost over?

The owner Chris is dishonest and unethical in his business practices. He unilaterally severed our 12-month tax-filing contract after collecting 9 months of payments and said he would NOT be rendering the services as agreed upon (and paid for) in the contract, and that we would have to sign a new contract at FOUR TIMES the price for him to perform the services he already contractually owed to us. Refused to refund for services not rendered, and actually said he was going to CONTINUE billing us even though he was not going to perform the services. Straight up scammer, take your business elsewhere. It's a shame this company has such poor leadership - the CPAs and bookkeepers I dealt with seemed like decent humans and deserve better.

Worse experience I have ever had using a company preparing my taxes. Likely will just learn before next year how to do them myself. Been doing my personal taxes since I was 18 and never had so much trouble getting through the process such as I did with this company. Given the cost feel I got a fraction of the service owed to me. I'll never give another dime to this company either. I'll explain to other company owners I talk to daily my experience and urge them to not use this company for tax needs. More so making me do all the leg work hardly seems needed given the cost of the service provided. If I treated my customers with the respect or had them do the level of work your company requires of the customer I'd go out of business faster then I got in business. I had such high hopes for your company and maybe that's where I failed thinking you aren't just in it for a easy paycheck off me. I've learned my lesson with your company and will be quick to not repeat it. Your essentially the Home Adviser of the tax world and that's not a compliment in my industry.

I was looking for an accountant to do my business and personal taxes. My bookkeeper turned me on to Halon and it has saved me time and money.

Nick is a great resource for me. I can get quick answers to the financial decisions that need to be made. I am able to bounce different ideas around with him to see which course of action I should take.
We also periodically go over the numbers and project future tax liabilities, This allows me to adjust my capital expenditures and lessen the year end tax liability.
The book keeping seems to go smoothly, I don't hear from them unless there is a rare purchase clarification or a log in issue.

Halon has always responded very quickly to my questions and thoughts. I needed lots of help at the beginning of starting my business and they were more than helpful!!
I appreciate all they have done to make being a business owner easier!

Creative, aggressive, best group of accountants I've ever worked with.

As an independent contractor, the idea of finding a good CPA within my budget was overwhelming. But when I happened upon Halon Tax in a Google search, and after several telephone conferences and dozens of emails back and forth, I was surprised by their patience, care and support as they helped me correct mistakes that I had made in the prior 2 years of doing my own taxes. I have been with Halon since 2015 and don't know what I would have done without them. They assisted me in setting up my books, relieved me of long hours in the evening of doing my own books, and gave me peace of mind so I could sleep at night. I can call or email any of the staff at any time and I get an immediate response. During COVID19, I have had to apply for Unemployment as well as a SBA.
