Chris in Norwich was incredibly patient while we tested several cars over a couple days. When we found a car to test at the Ipswich branch, he arranged to have it moved to Norwich to save us travelling down - he took it upon himself to go the extra mile for us. Overall Hammonds are reliable for finding high quality used cars and this was the second time we used them.

I picked up a BMW 420i in April, and the 2nd day I had it i felt a big knock coming from the OS/F (steering rack). It was taken to a mechanic recommended and used by Hammond Cars for a diagnostic, and it was found to have serious play in the steering rack. I told them, and they basically told me to go away and didn't want anything to do with it. Fast forward a month, the coolant system fails and coolant has flooded the engine bay and is all over the road at the front of my house. I took it into them, and to be fair they got it fixed (albeit took over a week with no mention of courtesy car or reimbursement for the inconvenience or insurance on my old car that i had to reinsure) and tried to fix the steering rack with the same part I tried myself and failed after being told to go away the first time. They knew I had tried this before but tried to cut corners. I got the car back from them and the problem persisted. They then took the car back in for 3 WEEKS, again with no mention of reimbursement for the insurance/inconvenience. They had bought it in to have another look to make sure it was the steering rack which had been diagnosed the first time and they were told it NEEDED replacement. They tried to cut corners by doing the inner and outer tie rods which again didn't fix the issue. I have bought a years warranty with claims up to the amount I bought my car, but the warranty is managed by them so of course tried to save costs. Today 3 months later I have dropped my car off at the BMW main dealer to try and fix the problem, and the steering rack they ordered is wrong😂Once again leaving me with no car and no method of transport. No updates, only updated when I chase. Nightmare company and would never recommend to anyone. Been messing me about for months

We sold a car to Hammond through Carwow and I am beyond disappointed with the experience and disgusted with the lack of integrity of the dealership. We gave Hammond all the available information on the car on the trust that they would adhere to the already low price they had got through Carwow. When they arrived they used the excuse of a small dent that was not visible but could only be ‘felt’ (whatever that means) and the increased mileage from the auction time (we couldn’t not drive our one family car and it seems an unreasonable expectation to assume the mileage will not change in three weeks between auction and collection) as a reason to take even more money away putting us in a no win situation. The experience and Hammond’s underhand behaviour has left a very very unpleasant taste in our mouths. We strongly do not recommend these people.

Everything was brilliant from start to finish. We came in a week before to test drive cars we liked. Came back a week later to pick up the car with great help especially from Jason and holly. Nice easy stress free process.

Having been searching around for a new car we visited many used car dealerships. We then we stumbled across Hammond Cars and was amazed at the vast selection of cars available for sale. This is by far the best dealership we have visited. We were able to look around the cars at our leisure which was really nice as there was no pressure from any salespersons which is often the case at car dealerships.
The service is exemplary and especially Craig who dealt with my sale from start to finish. Craig is so knowledgeable and patient and really took the time to answer my many questions and helped me decide which car was most suitable for my needs. I picked up my new car yesterday and I’m so happy with my choice, it’s definitely the perfect car for me, so thank you Craig. The whole experience was enjoyable and stress free and I would definitely recommend Hammond Cars to anyone looking for a new car.

The is the second car I have bought from Hammond cars and both times been a very pleasant and easy experience.
Chris from the Norwich branch was very helpful in finding me the car I wanted, he sent me pictures and additional info before initial viewing, explained all options, gave me plenty of time to look round and test drive and answered any questions I had.
The whole process was very smooth and pressure free, I'm very happy with my new car.

Awful - we went to look at a car. The salesman looked unkempt - they then couldn’t find the key. Having eventually found it they pointed us over and said “it’s likely over in those two rows, let me know if you want to take it for a spin” … we wandered around for 10 minutes and couldn’t find the car so just gave the key back and left.

Friendly and helpful

Great experience .
Made it seem a friendly and easy time which can sometimes be a stressful event. Offered a warranty but no high pressure which made me purchase one on my terms and my own decision which didnt feel like at any point i was under undue stress.

Stacey was very thorough and even under new situations that she was dealing with like swapping a disability road tax to a legacy one, she managed and found a way and remained calm and friendly at all times which didnt make me panic at any point.
The manager was helpful also, and even the other staff that wasn't involved in my purchase made sure I was happy and always taken care of.
I will definitely be going back to the Ipswich branch in the future and recommend them to family and pals.
