Chris Kelly was extremely helpful and definitely made it a pleasant experience dealing with the Hammond claims department. Any issues raised with Chris, he made sure to sort it efficiently and effectively. Very satisfied with his service!

Be very careful with this dealership we were rushed and continuously baited with losing the car before purchasing if we didn’t do it straight away. Agent didn’t advise about service being due (which is a major red flag) and then three days after buying the car needs an urgent oil change. Claims guy was awesome and honest the sales and management lied through their teeth when this was brought up. Avoid and go with much better companies locally - the old adage of you get what you pay for comes to mind

Had a nice experience buying my first car here, Lucy was super helpful and friendly - which made the experience about as enjoyable as it can be!

Wouldn't recommend overall. Customer service was good, friendly team and gave all the info I needed to know on the cars I was looking at there, at the time. I purchased a car at the end of August 2025 and as I found a fault with the heating system on the test drive (only air con on the feet worked, that was it), we both signed and agreed that it would be sold under the agreement it would be repaired. However, after only 4 days of owning the car, the engine light was on. The o2 sensor was the cause, and it was repaired at no charge under the 30 day warranty. When the car went in to the garage for the heating block diagnostic shortly after, the garage found the back suspension was gone and stressed it was unsafe to drive (I would have had to sign a waiver to take the car back from them). I chose to listen to their advice and the car stayed therenuntil they could fix it, but this was now a 3rd issue and one that should also have been checked before sale. The repair was not the sort that I cluld bave caused withing less than a week owning the car. To add to this, the speakers then stopped working, one was always crackly but out of the 4, only one worked and I couldn't use the hands free.
Having no demister function as the colder months drew, to be able to actually see out of the windows, so again, I couldn't drive the car and had to really push the urgency of needing the repair done ASAP as it is unrealistic to go weeks without being able to drive the car.m - I did in fact bave to go weeks without being able to use the car. Many plans cancelled as a result. I had the car at that point for about 3/3.5 months and had hardly been able to use it!
All in all, whilst the faults were fixed thanks to the 30 day warranty, these faults all happened (aside from the heating block issue I purchased the car with) within the space of approx 18-20 days of owning the car. THREE out of the 4 garages involved in these repairs said they have had a good amount of cars coming in, fed from Hammond Cars claims teams for repairs, as they don't appear to be properly checked before being listed for sale. The sales man who completed the sale did try to sway me to purchase the 12 month warranty, stating "I know what I'd do"... 👀
The initial experience with the team was welcoming, but the huge inconvenience of repeatedly having to have my car checked, then dropped off for repairs for days/a week at a time was a logistical nightmare to navigate, as anyone would find it!
Alongside this, there were delays and poor communications in updating me of the status of repairs, waiting on parts or even just that my car was ready to collect - these I recognise are not the fault of Hammond themselves, but again added to the entire negative experience. Really disappointed as I chose the garage under the impression it would be better than a private sale, but it's actually proven to be the worst experience out of buying and owning a car, over my 17 years of driving. Approach with caution and bring a qualified mechanice to thoroughly check any prospective vehicle out if you choose to use Hammonds.

Professional and very friendly service by all staff. Staff at Ipswich took time to help us find a car that met all our needs and within budget. Great choice of cars and all with detailed overview and inspection details giving peace of mind.
Darnell also made the paperwork, tax application and transfer of our old car an easy process talking us through every step.
Many thanks for all your help.

I chose to go to Hammonds as my father in law brought a car from here last year and is very satisfied.
Jack was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I didn't feel any pressure to buy and felt I had time to think about the purchase. Jack then efficiently helped me through the process of buying the car and i was able to drive it away that day.
Thank you Jack.

Stan was great and talked me through the whole process. All the staff are lovely and do not make you feel pressured into purchasing like you sometimes get with alternative dealerships. They have a large variety of cars to look at and choose from and are transparent with any issues the car may have. Would reccomend this garage to anyone!

Young Jaden at the Yarmouth office was so helpful. Organising the transfer of existing insurance for us, sorted out the road fund license and worked way past their closing time to ensure we got home safely in the new car. The most helpful sales person I have ever encountered, this lad is a credit to the group. Thanks again.

Kurtis was a nice guy to deal with. He did his best to give as much information on the car we bought.
Company rules meant he could not do as much as we wanted, but the deal was still good.
Thank you Kurtis for being helpful

After buying a car in October last year the second day we drove the car the check exhaust system and engine light came on and the passenger window stopped working.
We contacted hammonds to inform them then had we had the car checked for the faults at our own cost.
It came back with many faults the undertray was falling off no way could this could be missed with a basic check.
The car clearly wasn't checked at any point just washed the fule gauge didn't work the exhaust system needed replacing. The cars electrics need rewiring because its all wrong.
Radio doesn't work drivers door won't open number plate dented.
After being told the undertray on a car is a cosmetic item hammonds wouldn't pay for a new one eventually they agreed to pay for the repair.
Because clearly something you can't see isnt cosmetic.
The repair was done and a week later all the faults came back apart from the undertray so it went to the main dealer and they find the electrical fault but the cost of repair is very high.
I said to hammonds ok to swap the car over but they don't have any suitable cars to swap at the same price.
I'm then told by the Ipswich branch manger if I want a car that works I would have to pay the difference nearly £3000 obviously i said no.
He didn't like the fact i was asking him to take a loss to sort this problem out he insisted that the car was checked. I asked him to email me all the information for the check that was 5 weeks ago I still haven't received the information from him.
He then rang the warranty department and tried to force me to sell car back to them saying im being unreasonable wanting a car that works and that I won't pay £3000 extra for the car that works.
The warranty department then threatened to force a buy back on the car because I wouldn't pay the extra £3000 for a car that works saying im holding them to ransom because the car was never checked.
He then told me yes the car was checked but again he can't provide the information of who checked it and when.
Now nearly a month later they haven't found a suitable replacement for the car and the warranty department won't respond to Emails or answer the phone after ringing them 14 times in one morning.
I know the car was never checked a 5 year old could see the undertray hanging off the car. They give you a certificate but don't really check the car before you buy it.
So now I will have get the finance company and ombudsman to hold hammonds to account because there only soloution is me pay another £3000 then not reply to me at all !!!!
The sales guy was nice but clearly the after sales is just 40 seconds on hold and a answering machine.
Just a shocking after service please don't buy from here 😕

Great customer service. Love my car, no problems as yet 🤞💕
Got my car mot’d straight away as Hammonds pay for any MOT failures within the first month of purchase.
