The team are great! Chris Kirkham was kind and helpful throughout from valuing items to collecting them and creating the lots for the auction! Atsuko helped on all administrative items around the auction and was very kind and pleasant to work with as well! It is the first time my mum and I have used an auction house and we felt like we were treated with kindness and respect. It felt like a family taking care of us and guiding us as we went through the process of selling off some of my late father's items. We have never had an experience of working with auctioneers before and are so happy that we have been well cared for and looked after! We will definitely contact Hansons again to auction off other items in the future.

I found the process of selling my items with Hansons auctioneers easy I just posted the items to there valuation team .
They sent me the estimated valuations and advised me as to the next auction date they could appear in, I was happy for them to catalogue the items which I received access to view once they had done, I was asked if I was happy with how they were presented, I was they pictured them and described them very well
I was able to watch the auction online live as I didn't live near Derby which was quite exciting and they managed to sell everything at the prices they had suggested
The only thing i have not liked is , you are sent the final selling prices after the sale but it doesn't show what your actually going to receive after auction fees and 2 to 3 weeks on I still don't know what I'm actually going to receive but it goes into my account in a week or two so I'll find out then I suppose

Organised, professional, honest valuations. Had a couple of issues with the listings which were quickly rectified.

Great service and I am particularly impressed with the detailed description of the military items. I was slightly concerned that there were so many items still outstanding i have never consigned items to auction before) but i need not have worried. I now realise how long this process is and that my items are safe in your hands.

You sold an item for us, which helped raise much needed funds for our Hospice charity.

Consigned Victorian Natural History books May 2024. Two years of ignored emails, poor communication and broken promises followed. Staff changes meant my consignment was repeatedly lost within their own organisation. In May 2026 owner Charles Hanson personally told me the items were lost and agreed £50 compensation. I then discovered the items had actually been sold nine days earlier — without my knowledge, as an uncatalogued sub-lot with no photograph. The agreed £50 remains unpaid despite Mr Hanson confirming the agreement in his own email. Trading Standards notified. Small Claims Court action filed. No professional body membership means no independent complaints process for consumers. Wholly unsatisfactory conduct as bailee of my property over two years.
"UPDATE: Following escalation to owner Charles Hanson, the matter was resolved and full compensation including court filing costs was paid promptly. Whilst the two year journey to reach this point was wholly unsatisfactory, I acknowledge that once Mr Hanson became personally involved the matter was dealt with. I have updated this review to reflect that positive resolution."
