I approached Hansons to appraise the value of a book and to explain the process of selling at one of their auctions. They were extremely helpful and straight forward. Poor communication and long delays with auction it’s some still not entered in sale

This is the third (fourth?) time I have purchased from Hansons (from the Derby, Richmond and Banbury branches) and all deliver a consistently top class performance in all the required areas for purchasing (I have not sold anything through an auction house).
The lots they put up for auction are wide and varied and described well (you can always ask for a more detailed report if required).
The best bit about Hansons are the people who work in the various departments, they are a great knowledgable bunch who go out of their way to support and inform you. Thank you Team Hansons!

Promised to keep me updated of the auction times as well as auctioned items. Extronomical commission taken on sold items and the items not sold are not returned despite several reminders

I recently arranged for a number of Victorian and Edwardian clothes to be sent for valuation and sale to Notty Hornblower at Etwall Derbyshire. Her expertise and excellent catalogue description, along with her enthusiasm and knowledge, ensured that their sale was very successful.

Hansons lost my 2 lithographs (which were not small) for almost one year!. I enquired after 2 months and the search began and eventually they were found and put into one of their auction days. I received £5 and was very disappointed.

This is the first time I have used an Auction House and I was impressed from the very first meeting to the auction itself.
I felt the valuations were fair and the whole process and communications were friendly and straightforward. So much so, that I went home looking for more items to be valued!
All but one item were sold and that will go into the next auction.
I would not hesitate to recommend Hansons in Newark to anyone and would like to thank them for a great experience.
