My journey with HTYC has helped me change the course of my life and career in a direction that feels fulfilling and intentional, rather than guessing and hoping. I've been able to interact with numerous staff members who were all knowledgeable and helpful. The work I did through the career change bootcamp gave me the insight and information that I needed to make decisions that were right for me, and the coaches helped me use that information to integrate it into my decision making. My circumstances were a bit odd because when I started working with HTYC, I made the decision to go back to school. So my sessions were put on pause while I made progress in that direction. Some time later, I returned to coaching and completed my sessions which helped me navigate my career and support my life while I'm in school, as well as gain the skills necessary to begin my new career upon finishing school. In particular Steve Martinez has been wonderful to work with and is an outstanding coach. I can't say enough nice things about Steve! He is intelligent, kind, professional, and so insightful! Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do 👏🏻

I reallly feel a significant growth in my self-awareness of signature strengthgs and clarity on career direction.

I started out listening to the HTYC podcast after feeling stuck in a role that no longer aligned with my values. I really enjoyed hearing about Scott's journey and felt inclined to work with HTYC after hearing how he approached career changes - he was so down to earth and what he was saying just clicked with me. They are truly professionals and care about their clients!

I worked with Amy as my coach - she was so inspiring, and willing to meet me where I was. She was excellent at 'dreaming' with me, and helped me see how many transferable skills I have from one career to the next. She also focused on me holistically as a person, which I really resonated with, as I am going through more than one life transition currently. Highly recommend!

Working with HTYC and my coach, Katja, was truly a pleasure and well worth it. She helped me cut through the noise, identify my real strengths, and redirect my energy toward work that actually matters to me. The sessions were substantive, fun, and genuinely eye-opening. I can’t say enough great things about my experience with HTYC. This team is incredible! Everyone I met was genuine, supportive, highly skilled, and clearly invested in my success. My main coach, Phillip Migyanko, quickly became more than just a coach, he turned into an amazing friend. He struck the perfect balance between pushing me forward and giving me the space to be heard. He took the time to really understand my background, my concerns, and what I was hoping to achieve, which made all the difference. And while Phillip was my primary coach, I also had the chance to work with Laura McClernon and Petchell Luepke, both of whom were equally impressive and always willing to jump in where their expertise could help. You can tell this is a team that collaborates well and genuinely cares about their clients.

What I really appreciated about the program is the structure. It’s not about rushing into job applications. Instead, it starts with a deep, honest look at yourself, your strengths, and what you actually want. That part was eye-opening for me. After nearly 25 years in the same profession with one company, I honestly wasn’t sure what else I was built for. Phillip helped me connect the dots and see how my skills and strengths could translate into entirely new opportunities. That shift in perspective was huge. In the end, I landed my dream job and felt confident navigating both interviews and salary negotiations with HTYC’s support. Without a doubt, this was one of the best investments I’ve ever made in myself.

I had a great experience working with HTYC. My coach, Amy Dickerson, was an outstanding listener and brought thoughtful insight to every conversation. She took a holistic approach—considering my values, energy, lifestyle, and long-term direction rather than focusing solely on a specific job outcome—which made the process feel like true, lifestyle-informed career design.

She guided the work in a clear, step-by-step way, offering helpful reframes when I felt stuck and helping me surface patterns I hadn’t fully articulated. Her upbeat, grounded presence made the experience both supportive and effective. I gained real clarity and confidence about my direction and next steps, and I would confidently recommend HTYC to anyone navigating a career transition with intention.

HTYC is different because their focus is wholly on you and what you actually want in your career. I am a middle-aged woman who has had a few careers but nothing that fully resonated with who I am. I knew I wanted more but didn't know what to do besides applying for myriad jobs I found posted online that sounded "interesting".

HTYC, and especially my coach Amy, gave me the tools and time to figure out who I am, what I love doing, where I thrive (and don't thrive!). Everything was focused on me as a person, not on my identity as a "future employee" somewhere. For me, that personal attention and recognition was worth any price (though HTYC is actually very affordable for all they offer).

As with any coaching service, you will get from it what you put into it. HTYC just makes it enjoyable and rewarding to engage with them to get to where you want to go. And Amy's ability to understand me, grow with me, help me stay focused while still allowing the freedom to always be myself, was worth everything.

I really can't say enough good things about HTYC and have been recommending them anytime I hear someone talk about "doing something different". I highly recommend booking a consultation call if you've been thinking about a change.

I felt really stuck in my career until I found HTYC. I had tried several other coaching programs and was left feeling dissatisfied. Finding HTYC brought me some hope. Working with Katja was so helpful in overcoming my self-doubt and gaining confidence to make a change. She provided the support, encouragement and accountability to make a change. I don't dread going to work anymore. I now feel fulfilled, have flexibility, and have time for my family. I have the energy to be me again!

HTYC is a group of people who care about helping others. They have a good system in place and people with the expertise to get you where you want to go. I had a great time working with Dianna and she helped me a lot both with my career and personally. It is a pretty significant investment but I would say it was well worth it!

I came to HTYC knowing something was missing in my career but not sure what or how to fix it. With my coach’s guidance and her thoughtful questions and tools, I discovered a direction that truly aligns with my strengths and values. I also realized that I wanted to (and could) build something of my own. HTYC helped me redefine success on my terms and let work fit into my life, not the other way around. Now, I run my own consulting business called BioRipplet Endeavors LLC and support animal welfare activities — possibilities that I never thought I could actually make happen before this program.

In the daunting world of career change, after spending so much time with no results, it was helpful to have someone coming alongside. I think I would've given up if I didn't have my coach supporting, listening, validating and helping me hold on to what was possible. I didn't think I needed to have an Ideal Career Profile document done, but that ended up being the best tangible experience I took with me. If you're wondering if it's worth the investment - it is.

Working with Katja was truly transformative. She helped me see why my previous career wasn’t a good fit and guided me toward work that genuinely fulfills me. She’s patient, kind, funny, and holds you accountable while calling out old, unhelpful patterns. Thanks to her coaching, I’ve stepped into a path that really fits my strengths and passions.

As a person that never writes reviews, I felt strongly that I needed to share my experience with Laura McClernon. She helped me get a deeper understanding of my strengths, get clear on my values...AND ultimately helped me leave my job of over 2 decades. She asks the BEST questions and is phenomenal at building your confidence by fostering "tiny experiments" that really help you zero in on what would really be fulfilling work. As I enter into my "encore career," I can't thank Laura and HTYC enough. Most likely I will continue coaching once I'm ready to step into the next chapter as I believe Laura's coaching really accelerated my path to action. If you are stuck, need to understand your values and your "why" and get excited about trying new things, Laura is your person!

I've never really gone on a guided or semi-guided journey of self discovery before but my time with HTYC and Steve Martinez was just that, and I don't mean to be cute about it. I started out with pretty basic goals, find a way out of my current situation, get a job that was a better fit and maybe land a bridge role to facilitate both. After 4 months of working with Steve, I'm in a totally different place. I'm thinking bigger. I don't even apply to jobs anymore because I am after something more. Being able to bounce ideas off him, get his take, and hash things out really helped me progress. I talk a lot, and I jump around a lot from day to day but Steve kept me focused. He's a Viking. I think the big thing about the program is that it makes you think, and then makes you take action. Those worksheets aren't going to fill themselves out. Not sure how it will all turn out, but Steve was a steady hand I got what I needed out of HTYC and more.

My experience is likely different from most -- a bit after signing up for the course, I wound up going through a career change organically when I began to work with an old friend of mine. I therefore didn't need the content in the course as much as I otherwise would have. Still, I definitely benefitted from the perspectives we discussed and the exercises through the course, and I'm positive the benefits would have been even more substantial if a career change hadn't happened to land in my lap.

They do a great job of following up with you and answering any questions you may have. The exercises will take some time on your part, time I didn't really have due to my unexpected employment, but they're very flexible and can accommodate your schedule. My coach (Nicole Crozier) was very friendly, genuinely seemed invested in my success and happiness, and our sessions were a pleasure.

I think it's absolutely worth it if you have the time and commitment to truly engage in it.

We tend to get worried if an investment like this will actually make a change. I was worried to. IT IS A GREAT INVESTMENT It is not common to get this type of support and what they have to offer is very well-rounded. Each one of my coaches at Happen to Your Career, showed how much they care to understand me, my needs and what I needed to move forward. Even when my request is "I dont know what happened, I lost my track", my coach Heather Y. was helpful, confident, and ready to make me feel comfortable again and push to get what I wanted. I came here feeling strong-ish about my skills and got out understanding how much more information about myself I needed ! ..and a whole new perspective about my strengths. I am excited to apply all of this in my life. I recommend this to anyone thinking about making a change in your career, either for a 180 or just growth !

The early stages of self reflection are hugely important and beneficial for the career search. I learned a lot about myself and received a 3rd-party perspective of types of careers and positions that would fit.

Ultimately I learned that an organization's value system would be one of the more important elements for me. I need to do something for the right reason and not to just "find a job." Katja kept me on track to this goal and ultimately made a suggestion that got the ball rolling there.

While I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn on my career journey, I am thankful to Katja and the team at HTYC for the help taking this big step!
