We did 3 one-day tours in Quito. Family of 5 - mom, dad, kids 15-21.
David organized the tours and was our primary contact. He was great: very responsive, gave good suggestions, and called us (rather than relying on email) to answer our questions. We loved each tour and would highly recommend them.
*Mindo - Terrific day. The hummingbirds were a favorite for all of us, and the zipline was a 2nd favorite for the adventurous among us. We also really enjoyed the chocolate stop and the waterfalls hike. All hits!
*Cotopaxi bike - absolutely fantastic, start to finish. We paid extra to have an ebike for one in our group, which was 100% the right decision - it was still quite a workout. Can't say enough about how wonderful (and tiring) this tour was.
*Quito + Equator - we did this tour with our extended family, ranging in age from 9-71, and everyone enjoyed it. It was a great introduction to the area. A highlight was the Intinan Museum at the Equator. It was too bad we didn't have time for the Casa del Alabado in Quito, but there's only so much time in the day.

Our reservation was assisted by Jacky. She was very patient and exceptionally helpful. She was able to answer all of our questions and helped us navigate the trip from timing flights to our day to day schedule.

Kind, patient, explained every question (we had a lot). We felt comfortable embarking on this adventure!

On the days when no tours were planned, Happy Gringo still had us covered with well-thought-out suggestions for things we could do on our own. Each day of the trip came with clear, detailed instructions—what to bring, what to expect, and how the day would flow. That level of preparation really helped us relax and enjoy the experience.

One of the best parts? There was always a local liaison to guide us through the logistical moments—getting to the right line, the right boat, or the right driver—making everything smooth and stress-free. The chaos at the docks in the early mornings could have been overwhelming, especially for travelers without strong Spanish skills. It would have been so easy to get lost or end up with the wrong group, but with Happy Gringo's team supporting us, we never had to worry.

A lovely surprise before our trip: Happy Gringo sent us a few thoughtful gifts to use during our time in the Galápagos, in celebration of our anniversary. It was such a kind and personal touch that made the whole experience feel even more special.

During our two-week stay, I had a few questions about the itinerary, and David was always quick to respond with helpful answers. His support didn’t stop once the itinerary was sent and the bill was paid—he stayed involved the whole way through.
We did book one tour independently on a free day, and honestly? It didn’t measure up to the quality of the experiences Happy Gringo arranged. That really confirmed for us how valuable their network and planning expertise are.

We had a fantastic experience booking our trip to Mindo through Happy Gringo. From the start, they offered great options and were flexible, modifying our itinerary based on our timeline. When our plans changed unexpectedly, they worked with us quickly and kindly to adjust everything without stress.

When our son got sick during the trip, they provided great support. Our guides, Marcelo and Jean Pierre, were outstanding: friendly, accommodating, and very safe drivers. They made the journey feel easy and enjoyable.

Our stay at Casa Divina Lodge was a dream. The staff could not have been more kind, and the property itself is stunning—surrounded by birds and nature. Our room was comfortable with hot water, and the meals were delicious.

We’re so grateful for this experience and highly recommend this agency to anyone planning a trip to Ecuador.

David was a wonderful to work with in planning our trip to the Galapagos. After an initial discussion he provided a range of detailed options to choose from. The trip went exactly as planned. Any minor issues such as the where to meet our guide on a particular day were quickly and satisfactorily resolved. Would definitely use HappyGringo again and recommend to anyone visiting the Galapagos.

I can hardly put in words how amazing our experience with Happy Gringo was. Jacky talked to me over an initial call and then followed up with emails to put together a perfect land-based week-long trip to the Galapagos. We were travelling with 4 middle aged people, 2 older (70+) people, as well as 2 teenagers, so the itinerary was a bit of a challenge. But every. single. detail was organized and ALL of our tours and transportation helpers were on time and absolutely wonderful. The hotel she picked for us on Isabela Island was fabulous. We contacted the company twice during the trip - once urgently and once to ask a favor, and they were responsive immediately both times. My ONLY complaint is (for myself!!) the fact that I had made a few arrangements before I contacted her. I wish I had let Jacky and Happy Gringo handle _everything_ for our trip, instead of just "most" of it!!! Our whole group is 100% satisfied and will tell everyone how wonderful they are! Thank you for a lifetime of memories!!

She never sent vouchers or any information regarding: the tour & was not reachable when inquiring about the vouchers. She was quick to ask for payment though.

I appreciate how patient Fabricio has been with me as we have worked to create an itinerary that is tailored to our needs. He has provided valuable insight about what we can expect in Quito, the Galapagos, Lima, Cusco and Machu Picchu. I look forward to meeting and thanking him in person.
