My daughter has had both an ADHD…

My daughter has had both an ADHD assessment and anxiety assessment with Dr Imosogie at Harley Psychiatrists. I find her very thorough, send useful resources after the assessment and let's us as a family decide whether we want to progress with treatment and explains the full side effects. I would definitely recommend Harley Psychiatrists.

Great! :)

From the beginning, everything is clearly communicated and you have every chance to ask questions about anything that you’re unsure of. At first, I was nervous to have my ADHD assessment and go through treatment, but I’ve just had my first monthly follow-up appointment and I no longer worry about anything, especially knowing that I can always email or call Harley Psychiatrists with any issues. Highly recommend! (:

Be very carful with this company

Be very carful with this company. They are not regulated by the General medical council or The care quality commission, or The ICO, or NICE. You can only complain about their doctors via the GMC and this company are untouchable. So they can do what they like without Consequences. They have been on Panorama for giving ADHD to a child and going straight to drugging her. They do not do proper ADHD assessments I have the reports the back it up. And I am doing everything I can to hold this shambles of a company accountable. If you have something wrong, go somewhere else or you will be misdiagnosed. And the real problem will go untreated. They did the same thing they did on Panorama to my child. They do not offer f2f appointments. Even tho they say they do. But when you sing up they send you a form stating everything is done on teams. Read the terms and conditions that says only online meetings. It also says they can stop your treatment at anytime without warning. Read Google reviews where they have done that to many people

Highly unprofessional team

The assessment was not completed as per NICE guidelines.when I complained about the process, the team did not respond at all. Obviously they are not going to respond, they are covering for their highly dumb psychiatrist. They shouldn't have any sort of complaints policy because they don't follow it. Whatever the service user says, their clinicians are always right. Service users have no right to challenge them- (actually that should state that in their complaints policy)

Booked and Appointment with this…

Booked and Appointment with this company. 2 days before the assessment someone rang me to basically say that the assessment they offer may not be recognized by my GP

I explained that this would be the sole reason why I wanted the assessment in the first place.
It was clear that once they have taken your money they then start trying to explain their assessments aren't office or recognized.

5 Stars for Dr Shankar!

I approached Harley Psychiatrists following my ADHD diagnosis and discovering, like so many others, that my local NHS trust is unwilling/unable to provide my care in the current climate.

I have been a patient of Dr Ramesh Shankar for the last year and his support has been life changing for me and for my family by extension. Being in a position now where my condition is managed, with the results of a year of small changes before me, I can say that it has all been worthwhile.

I can handle our day to day and our challenging situations more easily, including the extremely unpleasant and ongoing grind of the ADHD/ASD assessment process for my own children.

I feel that some of the administrative processes could be smoother, perhaps utilising a patient-portal for bookings and logging data rather than communicating via email. There are a few gaps in comms processes based on my experience. Firstly, with no administrative staff contactable past 5pm it is not possible to trouble shoot any issues during evening appointments. A few appointments have been unsuccessful due to technical issues, scheduling errors etc but cannot be resolved until staff return the following day.

Secondly, when having prescriptions issued there is no visibility of the process. Following appointments, you are not informed when a prescription has been issued or any documentation/copies/proof of what that prescription is. The next contact is from the pharmacy itself with a payment link, but again no detail of what it is you are paying for.

Pretty small issues in the grand scheme, but would definitely improve my experience as a patient if some investment were made in those areas.

Overall I'm really pleased and would happily recommend to others.

Please be aware of the hidden costs

Please be aware of the hidden costs, that they don't tell you about.

After my diagnosis, they advised me that they won't provide medication untill you book another appointment costing £245, which I reluctantly did as I was told that the medication is positively life changing.
The meeting went ahead, and lasted less than 10 minutes and I was started on the lowest dose all of which I thought was standard practice.
I was told I would need a follow up appointment which I thought the £245 would cover (considering the meeting should have been 30minutes), but no of course not, I had to pay the fee again. This time I thought I would prepare and cover my bases to avoid any further unnecessary appointments and agreed with the doctor that if the medication levels felt right, I would let him know and continue the dose that I was on. That way I would not have to pay another £245 fee. However when I called the admin team and spoke to Sarah Norman a staff member there who rudley advised me that I could not get a repeat prescription until I saw the doctor again and paid another £245 consultation fee (and if i wanted to complain then I should do it writing). This practice is praying on patients needs and make it difficult for you to understand the whole service and cost innolved. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs, they are rip off merchants, charge literally 100's pounds for very little. Used this company for my son's adhd assessment, this was £1000. Fair enough. They then dont tell you about all the hidden costs, £245 for a 5 minute follow up appointment, which they say you need far more often than NICE guidlines, then they send the prescription to the most expensive pharmacy in London, wanted over £200 for the private prescription when my local pharmacy would change around £100. Absolute scammers

1 star is too much

1 star is too much for this scam of a business. As many other comments have already mentioned. The initial 2 sessions with the phschiatrist were cut short (roughly 40 minutes) but they were pleasant enough and kept promising that they could help.

After initially prescribing medication once, they then refused to send the details to the local gp (initially promised that this would be done). They are now asking for alot more money for multiple follow up appointments, which are not needed as the medication dosage is currently correct and works well with no side effects.

Beyond devastated and disgusted by the treatment from them. They claim to care but clearly have no motive other than financial gain.

I'm rating based on my family's recent…

I'm rating based on my family's recent experience with the reception team over the phone. They have been very easy to talk to and informative from the start and were extremely helpful when we had a predicament and needed help. They went above and beyond to help. In our situation, they could easily have saved themselves a lot of time and effort but they diligently pursued all avenues until finding a doctor who could help us. I couldn't ask for a more compassionate and helpful front office.

Avoid at all costs.

Received a diagnosis, and placed on medication, they cannot deliver the meds when promised and leave you without therefore effectively you are suddenly stopping the medication, the prices are extortionate, the first prescription was £40 second for the same medication was £71. They do not answer emails when challenged or follow up on issues raised over the phone. One "Pharmacy" they use told me they were the only pharmacy that had any stock in the entire country. They conduct their business like a dodgy eBay seller, seem to take treating people with issues as some kind of cash cow.

Avoid! highly unprofessional, complete rip off

I went with Harley Psychiatrists for my ADHD assessment in early March. My first appointment was an awful experience: what should've been a detailed one hour initial assessment took just half an hour, in this time the doctor was extremely blunt and completely disinterested in me or my wellbeing, she seemed to just want to get things over with as soon as possible, and instead of asking me questions in detail she was just moving from one question to the next extremely quick. The whole process didn't feel professional in the slightest, and I didn't trust them enough to go through with the following appointments. This was a huge disappointment considering how much I paid for this assessment...do not go here, I recommend finding somewhere else.

Awful experience

Awful experience - avoid at all costs. Daughter went for ASD diagnosis, psychiatrist did not turn up for appointment just let her sitting there, then rebooked. No apology, no explanation. 2nd appointment lasted less than 40 minutes (for a diagnosis of ASD), he was rude and indifferent and cut her off when she tried to explain things - he was in a rush. He continually said that does not count towards a diagnosis, and instead asked her whether she had an unusual interest in trains. He had no idea about how ASD presents in girls and women and very old fashioned views. At no time did they ask me, her mother, for any background information. I would strongly advise anyone looking for an ASD diagnosis to go to a proper company. My daughter had significant issues as a result of this short unprofessional consultation and the way she was treated. She is now seeing a clinical psychologist with expertise in ASD in girls/women. I complained and filled in a form in January 2024 and no response from the company.
They are only interested in your money, don't go to this company.

Predatory business practices at the expense of your own mental health

Absolutely disgusting business practices, designed to take advantage of vulnerable people.
They're very helpful and easily reached at the beginning when you're enquiring and giving them money for your diagnosis. Then, the Psychiatrists are cold and just reading off a questionnaire with no personal touch or connection with you.
In my case they elected to prescribe mediation ti me, giving the lowest dose despite acknowledging that I have a severe case of ADHD. Then, they prescribe the medication that you have to pay nearly 100 for a month and then it goes downhill. Then appointments aren't communicated and they start asking for more and more money, despite having never mentioned this at any point prior. When challenged about these shady business practises, they all of a sudden are unavailable, nobody responds to emails and they flat out hang up on the phone.
Nobody would help me over the phone with directing me to the correct team nor have they ever even acknowledged my complaint despite well over 10 emails without response from them.
Now stuck with a diagnosis and a private prescription that cannot be filled by the NHS as this company refuses to pass it onto the NHS or even assist me in finding the right dose without extorting me. Avoid them like the plague.
My mental health has deteriorated since the medication ran out and I have no recourse to have a refund or even my prescription passed onto the NHS. They refuse to even fill my prescription again, that they, medical professionals, diagnosed my need for.
They are predatory and only care about your money at the expense of your mental health.

The people were lovely to talk to and extremely helpful along the process. The receptionists, all the staff, I cannot thank you enough for your time, patience and support. Really made the experience less nerve wrecking and an over all positive experience!
