The company were responsive to our request for their services, fairly priced, efficient in their visit time and report turnaround, as well as friendly and helpful to deal with in person, by phone and by email.
I approached HCL for damages caused by guttering company, as rain water damage to wall and pitched roof.
I did not have photos to share at the office.
When someone else came he told me it was not wort investigation from litigation point, and was not going to charge me. I showed him the photos and the damage. He walked off still thinking there is no charge but I offered to pay something smaller for the short time he spent in my property. He later on charged me the full hour and passed some useless information that just no good to me like contact of his maté electrician and aspestos testing info over the internet.
The damage to the roof and wall immensely more than a few hundred pounds he advised and not noticed. He charged professional fee for something he had no clear knowledge that would be useful to me. He insulted me on emails calling me bully. It went to small claims court but I was made to pay. I also believe the judge did not consider points I raised
Tremendous upset and stressed caused by the company. Showing up in my property in intimidating manner.
In my opinion money wasted as everything and more available online, Plus he is very rude, disrespectful.
All his comments below are totally inaccurate. I never lost my manner, he literally called me “bully” on an email very unfairly. Very dishonest, have no integrity, most importantly have no professional knowledge or attitude.
A structural engineer assessed the damage whom actually deserved more than I was charged. Nothings HCL said was remotely useful at all. This is absolute and utter truth.

After watching a youtube video from Faye explaining Party wall act i decided to contact her to seek advice. Faye is an expert in this field, she took time to explain everything to me and my neighbour in layman's terms and I couldn't be more happy with the outstanding service from her. She is friendly, did what she said she was going to do and and professional. I would highly recommend her and would definitely use her again should the need arise in the future.

Tim Clarke who carried out the survey in very timely manner and then provided a very detailed but easy to read report. What further impressed me was that Tim was more than happy to field several follow up questions I had. Infact he encouraged me asking to insure I had fully understood things. He phoned me back when asked and the conversation was never rushed .

Very thorough and easy to read survey. I was a bit worried about organising a level 3 survey as I thought it might be too difficult to understand as a layman. How wrong was I! Problems were identified but so were the solutions and the cost implications. Even though the property needs a lot of work this has put my worries to rest. Thank you Tim.

It was clear and comprehensive and well written.
I feel it tells me everything I need to know for the purchase.
It also gives me an excellent set of lists of work to discuss with tradespeople when we move in and want to fix things, from both the significant to the minor.
So, a very useful document, not just for the house buying purpose I thought.

We commissioned Harrison Clarke to complete a Level 3 Building Survey ahead of our residential property purchase. Tim produced a wonderfully thorough and detailed report, with all points explained in clear language for non-specialists with sensible guidance for next steps, likely future work/costs and recommendations. Tim also made himself available to discuss any issues following his report. Harrison Clarke was one of the most expensive quotes we obtained before commissioning a surveyor, but on reflection we feel this was money well spent for the level of service received.

Harrison Clarke Ltd were extremely helpful when calling to discuss survey options. They managed to organise a Stage 2 survey promptly and the full report was received within 24 hours. On top of this, we called the Surveyor Paul to discuss the report and he was extremely helpful and put our minds at rest. Excellent service, we would highly recommend this company.
I was pleased that we had Tim do our survey as he noticed a serious crack in the floor at the back of the garage which we did not notice until after going ahead with our offer. So we used this as a leverage to get a reasonable reduction on the property price, hence he saved us quite a bit of money the the final agreed offer.
