Excellent Customer Service
I ordered a suit online that wasn’t quite right, so I visited the store at Westfield Stratford City. Steve was incredibly helpful from the moment I arrived. He quickly organised a replacement suit for the very next day, including tailoring, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free.
What really stood out was how attentive and professional he remained while also managing several other customers during a very busy period. Despite the pressure, he stayed focused on making sure I got the right suit and provided excellent service throughout.
He also helped me get the best possible price by applying the current deals and offers available. Honestly one of the best customer service experiences I’ve received — a real credit to the store.

Customer service non existent!
Ordered two ladies shirts that duly arrived. Unfortunately too small, hence requested exchange for next size up, which were, and still are, available according to the website. Two weeks on no replacements - they have refunded money but less than the value of the two shirts!
So, telephone Customer Service - waste of time, on hold and then no agents available; online chat - transfer you to an agent, again no agents available. What is the point of telephone and online if no one to deal with you? Now waiting for reply to email. Appalling service.

This company is still in the dark ages
This company is still in the dark ages. It's been 3-4 days since I submitted my order, I still haven't received any confirmation of my order being dispatched (with a tracking number) so the 3-5 days delivery time is a load of nonsense, you're looking at 7-10 days. They already have my back up and I haven't even received the goods yet. They are behind the times, stick with Charles Tyrwhitt, TM Lewin, Moss Bros. I won't be making the mistake of ordering from this company again.

Next day delivery takes OVER a week
I've always liked the clothes from Hawes and Curtis but recently been very let down by 'next day' delivery. I paid for next day delivery and I haven't received the items after 6 days. It will be a week tomorrow. There was a bank holiday in the middle but I specifically ordered and paid for the blouses ready for a work trip on Wednesday night and they have not arrived. The tracking information has not been updated at all - just shows as being in transit. So disappointed.
UPDATE- STILL NOT RECEIVED - NOW OVER A WEEK
UPDATE - Eventually received and delivery fee refunded

Customer service for “international customers” is a third party shipping service. Hawes and Curtis customer service will not assist. They will direct you back to an AI chat bot.
Ordered a suit for an incredibly important interview.
Received the incorrect size of blazer. Immediately contacted “international customer service,” which is an AI chat bot. 24 hours later and no response.
Got up at 4am to call customer service. After speaking to two humans, was continuously told I had to contact Global-e, their shipping partner. They (as the actual company) did not have any authority to remedy their mistake.
I explained I had no other options, to which I was told, “Go out and buy another suit.”
I further explained that because I would not be able to return and receive a replacement in time (again, their mistake, not mine). I would have to wear the incorrect blazer and would they make an exception on a return?
You guessed it: That’s against our policy. If you wear it, you can’t receive a refund.
So, I made another suggestion: Can you authorize a shipment of the correct order at not cost to me? As a gesture of good will and courtesy to make it right (again, they sent the wrong item)?
Or, how about you provide a code for 100% off the purchase due to your error and your willingness to not inconvenience me further?
I was told, “I’m only going to repeat myself. We cannot do that. You have to go through Global-e. If you wear the blazer, we will not accept a return. It’s our policy.”
I kept pleading with them. Can you not, at least as a human being, make an exception? I was laid off in September and this job could be life changing for me. I don’t have the money to go out and buy another suit.
They continued with their cold, unfeeling, dismissive responses. Policy. It’s not our fault. Talk to Global-e. Sorry for the inconvenience. I will repeat what I’ve already told you.
The “best” they could do is offer a free return label.
I beg everyone to NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY.
It’s not worth your time, tears, and overwhelming anxiety.
Very helpful staff
My partner and I initially saw a suit we quite liked but thought we should also look elsewhere. Jessica who helped us was really helpful talking about the suit including showing us the colour in outside light but we felt no pressure or obligation. We ended up returning to the shop the same afternoon and Jessica helped us again with great patience and attention to detail. My partner was unsure what he was looking for and hasn’t bought formal clothes for a while so definitely needed some gentle guidance. We came away with everything he needed but also a couple of things he decided he didn’t need and that was fine. It was a fun and productive shopping experience!

Poor Quality, Fit, and Customer Service
Horrible experience from this company. Extremely poor customer service that just doesn't respond unless it benefits them. Failed to communicate multiple times for over 48 hours.
Told me explicitly I could return items I could not.
Items were slow to arrive . Quality was extremely poor and sizing was not as advertised. Every aspect of working with this company was poor. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Very poor customer service !
I’ve ordered twice, first time shoes took a week to arrive despite being told it had shipped on 48 hour delivery. Second time, needed to exchange trousers for a larger size. They messed up and refunded despite me e mailing separately to check. Three weeks after ordering, still no complete suit !! Product quality looks quite good but shocking service and no compensation for their admitted mistake as other modern businesses do.

I visited Hawes and Curtis in Brent Cross during March 26. After browsing a while I was assisted by a knowledgeable young staff lady who helped me with a selection of shirts. I purchased these but on exiting the store I noticed a blazer that I desired. I asked for a refund on the shirts I had just purchased and to use that towards my purchase of the blazer. Despite the inconvenience I caused nothing was to much trouble for the staff at Brent Cross branch. They politely and professionally dealt with my request and even kept my purchase behind the counter until I was ready to collect an hour later. I cannot thank and praise them enough.A definite 10 out of 10 from me
Hidden Policies, Refused Returns, avoid like a plague!
Absolutely unacceptable experience.
I purchased two caps that don’t fit and was refused a return on the basis of “hygiene reasons, apparently, a baseball cap is now treated the same as a face mask.
This is not standard practice anywhere online. Caps are items people try on. If they don’t fit, they get returned. Simple.
What makes it worse is that this “policy” is hidden behind dropdown sections on the product page. It is not clearly presented at checkout, which makes it feel deliberately misleading.
No hygiene seal, no obvious warning, just a convenient excuse to deny returns.
Retailers cannot hide behind vague policies that contradict normal consumer expectations and then enforce them after purchase.
I will not be shopping here again. Buyers beware.

Poor customer service
In January 2026 I bought two pairs of shoes. They arrived after I had departed on a business trip. Upon my return I tried on the shoes and found they ‘gaped’ at the sides as I walked. They were poorly fitting. I immediately contacted Customer Services to enquire about a return. Upon their request, I sent photos of the shoes to confirm they had not been worn. Hawes and Curtis has since refused to refund the purchase price because my return is outside the 28 day return period. Instead, I am told I can only have an exchange. Over the past few years, I have bought dozens of shirts and some shoes from Hawes and Curtis. It is a shame that loyal customers are treated this way. Needless to say, I will no longer be shopping at Hawes and Curtis.
UPDATE: Having provided H&C with the email correspondence requested in their response to this post, I received an email from the same person in their customer services department, simply repeating what she had previously stated. Farcical.

Scammy with refunds for US purchases
Ordered two sets of shirts- attempted to cancel one order within 24 hours but no response from them. Now returning two orders and out close to $200 for nothing because they said they do not want to refund duties. Never had this experience before with other vendors from the UK and my business clothes shopping is now moving to other vendors

Lost parcel and no accountability, poor service

My parcel was marked as delivered, but it was left outside in a communal area with no one there to receive it and it has now been lost. I never agreed to parcels being left like that, and it was not delivered into my hands or left somewhere secure.
The company has simply relied on the courier saying it was “delivered” and referencing GPS data, without properly addressing the fact it was left unattended. As a result, I’m now out of pocket and without the items I paid for.
I’ve shopped with them before and rated them highly, which makes this even more disappointing. If this isn’t resolved properly, I’ll have no choice but to pursue a chargeback or take the matter further.

Hawes & Curtis offers a wide range of clothing at an exceptional value proposition. I've made multiple purchases and had good experience with their dress shirts, linen shirts, chinos, Merino knitwear, and shoes. The express shipping is indeed extremely fast and affordable, and the return policy is very easy and comfortable. I'm already looking forward to their summer collection (and to the next winter collection but that might sound crazy)! haha

I had a great experience with some real good old fashioned customer service at H&C today. I was served by Craig at their Milton Keynes shop. He was patient, took time to properly measure me and gave me some great product advice, with a proper features and benefits run through!
