Don't pay for the app

Don't pay for the app, they don't care about your experience after you've paidm Every time I go into the app it tells me they've updated their terms and I need to agree to them. This has happened several times a day for 3 months. I've reported this and they've done nothing. I'm going to try a new app. I'm very annoyed that I paid for a subscription and they don't seem to car enough to get it resolved. Don't pay for the app

Customer service stop replying when you ask for a refund. Pre written replies only.

You cannot remove pathways from the app once selected and the app creators are aware of this but don’t want to allow users to remove added pathways.

For anyone who experiences pregnancy loss during using this app you then can’t remove this pathway from your everyday page. Meaning everyday you need to see this reminder on your phone.

When requested a refund for not being able to use the app in a way that was good for mental health customer service stopped replying as they have done with most of the other reviewers here.

It’s another profit making business with no care for their customers. Not good for mental health. Do not subscribe.

Charged me duplicate annual subscription for 3 years

So disappointed with this app. After being a loyal customer for years, last year discovered they had double charged me for 3 years for the annual subscription. Spent months trying to get a refund, and at least access to my account which was still locked. They kept saying that as they couldn't see a record of the duplicate payment they couldn't help (despite me sending bank screen shots to prove). In the end I gave up ..only to find this week found they charged me 49.99 once again, despite me not having had access to an account for over a year. In the end had to go through my bank disputes team to get a refund. Even the bank customer support laughed at the irony of this being a meditation app, causing so much stress!

Con Artists

Signed up for the “free 14 days”. Tried to cancel after as it’s more US than UK. By the time “customer service” contacted me this bunch of con artists tried to take £49.99 from my account. Carlos told me subscription was cancelled and lo and behold this morning my bank account is £49.99 down! Meaning car insurance wasn’t paid!. Absolutely fuming as instead of putting me in a good “headspace” my stress levels are through the roof! Can’t even access the account as it’s now deactivated. Feel conned and let down.. wellbeing app!!!! I think not!!

Worth it, except for the customer service who let the application down

I had a Headspace account and it was awesome. However coming to the end of my subscription, though the support team are quick to respond, their responses do not make sense. The instructions they provide are unclear and I am still not able to access the app to look after my own wellbeing which is important to me for several months now. Competitors like Calm are cheaper or Balance offer a years free subscription, and they are just as good. I put my faith in Headspace and they let me down as as customer. Amazing platform, but they are let down by their customer support team providing stock responses, presumably to get through their workload faster, rather than helping consumers. Please listen to your customers and their issues rather than providing a stock response I have no recieved several times despite me writing back and stating this does not work to resolve the issue I am facing. For an application/service such as this (a wellbeingvand mediation app aimed at supporting mental health and coping with stress, I hold you to a higher account that a usual contact centre. As a customer service trainer with many years experience, I can identify a definite need for training in listening to the customer and and overreliance on templates emails.

Headspace ripped me off

I signed up for Headspace in 2023 because of a deal but I never used it. However on November 27, 2024, they automatically renewed my subscription for $69.99. I immediately cancelled my subscription but the money was not refunded. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they said they would refund me. They didn’t. The BBB contacted them again and they said the same thing about refunding me and never did. They basically lied. Eventually the BBB dropped the charges because they gave up. This company is disreputable, surprising for a company supposedly dedicated to the mental wellbeing of its customers.

Money hungry, empathy lacking scam

'Improves health and happiness' my ass. All you are doing is stressing me out. You are money hungry and it's disgusting. I double checked that I have unsubscribed and I am still charged $91.99. Rejects a refund even though I have not used your app for months! Lacks empathy for a company that cares about mindfulness.

Very Poor Refund Policy

I asked for a refund for an auto-renewal billed to me just a few hours after the charge, and they denied my request without any second thought. As you can see from other reviews, I was surprised that this has also affected many users. Once they charge your card for renewal, you will never get your money back, even if it's just a few minutes from the moment they bill you. That's so unfair. Stay away!

Unfair Refund Policy and Poor Customer Service

I’ve been a fan of Headspace for a while, but my recent experience has completely changed my perception of the company. I initially signed up for my first year with a 50% discount, which I appreciated, but I forgot to cancel before being charged $92 for the renewal. I realised my mistake the very next day and requested a refund immediately.

Unfortunately, their team took several days to respond, only to tell me that my request was now beyond the cancellation period. This delay wasn’t my fault, yet I’m being penalised for it. When I reached out, I was met with generic apologies and no resolution. It feels like customer care and fairness are not priorities for Headspace.

It’s incredibly disappointing to see this from a company I once trusted and enjoyed using. This experience has shown me a lot about their business practices, and I can no longer recommend Headspace to others.

Renewed subscription without consent

Unfortunately, my experience is the same as others in here. The have renewed a subscription that I was not aware of - emailed the help desk, no response! Complete scam. I haven't used the app in almost a year - and initially signed up for it because of a discount deal anyways. For an app that aims for mental health, this really is the opposite in user experience. Please avoid and find another app on well being...

Headspace are complete scammers

These guys are complete scammers. They applied an autorenewal to the account and have taken €75 out of my account without permission. I have not used the service for almost a year as it is abysmal and I would recommend CALM app. They claimed they sent an email but I have no records of it. They have refused to refund my money. To think that a company that is apparently trying to help people engaged in this type of practice, causing people stress is sickening. They have now stopped responding to my message. Hopefully this message will save you money and not increase your stress, because headspace wont.

Refusing to give refund due to autorenewal

Account was set to autorenew without my knowledge. Was charged £50 on 1st January, of which I requested a refund minutes later upon cancelling my subscription. Have been told two days later I can't have the money back due to "the cancellation period ending". Absolute scam. I used these services back in 2015 when everything was free and hate to see what this company has become. Claims to care about wellness and health of their customers, yet refuse refunds during a cost of living crisis? I will continue to contact them until this issue is solved in a satisfactory manner.

App average, unethical billing

App is quite confusing and cluttered. The main issue I have though is regarding their total lack of customer service and unethical billing process. Whether it's sheer incompetence or a strategy to squeeze more from their clients, I find it unacceptable and not something I'll ever support again.
