I've heard a lot about headspace and it sponsoring certain youtubers etc, so when my work offered a free membership, I signed up. The meditations were all very strange, not particularly relaxing or me... See more

SCAM and won't reply to email or phone contact
I asked for my heater to not ship 2 days before it did and was told it already shipped. I changed my mind after reading reviews which I should have done beforehand. The heater didn't even heat a small kitchen up by 1 degree. They will not answer my emails asking for return authorization and will not return my calls. Will be contacting the Attorney General. Scammers!!!!!!
Avoid! Scammers that take money!
Signed up for a free trial and the immediately took money from my account! I cancelled straight away and requested a refund. Luckily I signed up with Paypal so hope to get my money back.
Avoid this company. Causes more stress than it relieves!
I miss the old version when it was just…
I miss the old version when it was just Andy explaining how to meditate. I came back after a few years away and now its so confusing and cluttered. Very difficult to navigate.
A mindfulness app made me more stressed!
Cluttered and extremely difficult to find any exercise! Made me stressed just trying to use the app! Just got it because I have it for free on my insurance plan. Do not bother getting this app. Terrible experience! Horrendous UI!
Awful company
Awful company, make it impossible to cancel subscription despite attempting in multiple places. Avoid at all cost!!!
Don't let yourself be tempted
Don't let yourself be tempted. They will not be fair and will cause you a lot of stress no matter the circumstances.
Not sure what happened to Headspace but…
Not sure what happened to Headspace but now just feels like a money-grab business.
I tried to cancel my subscription as per their instructions. However, they remove the 'cancel' button they say will be there. Their suggested alternative is to contact them via email to cancel. However, they do not respond to you. I've asked them to cancel my subscription, and am still waiting for them to even respond.
Whilst this is all going on, they're still trying to take out £50 from my account. Even though my subscription is classed as 'inactive'. Why are you trying to take money almost daily from an 'inactive' account?
It's ironic that they cause unnecessary stress around money, when the whole point of Headspace is calming the mind and reducing stress. Maybe they'll create a session for 'Stress caused by Headspace subscription'.
Used to love Headspace back in it's earlier days. It felt honest and simple. Not anymore.
This app uses intentional trickery to…
This app uses intentional trickery to keep customers auto-renewing every year, unable to cancel the subscription.
1. When I go the icon for my profile on the app, it shows nothing about my subscription, what I paid, when it renews. That is NOT normal.
2. If I tap the gear icon, and then "Account & Subscription," it shows me details about the account type and when it renews, but no button for canceling. That is NOT normal.
3. My only option is on that same "Account & Subscription" screen: it's a button for "Delete Account" which, of course, I'm not going to tap because that means I can't get use out of the app for the remaining months on my subscription. (Yes, I forgot about the renewal and only noticed the charges a few days into the renewed annual subscription.)
These are unscrupulous business practices and I am absolutely enraged by this company. I will never do business with them again. Please tap me to contribute to any social media campaign that promises to run them out of business and sully the names of the leadership team that executed these customer-punishing practices. Way to go, Headspace, Inc., you greedy, greedy bastards.
Don't subscribe to headspace!
I bought a one year subscription with 50% discount. Now this period has finish and I am trying to cancel the subscription. But apparently it's nit possible to do this online. I have sent 3 emails and still can't cancel it. They keep trying to charge me. So annoying and frustrating! A well-being app delivering anxiety!!
Forgot to cancel free trial …
I signed up for a trial with Headspace but forgot to cancel it before the trial ended. Unfortunately, I was charged full price for a full year subscription. When I realized, I tried to get a refund through Apple, but they declined my request.
I contacted Headspace directly to explain what happened and requested assistance. It’s been over 10 days now, and despite multiple follow-ups, I haven’t received any response. It feels like they are completely ignoring my emails.
I’m very disappointed with their lack of customer support. Mistakes happen, and I would have appreciated at least a reply or acknowledgment of my situation. To other potential customers, I’d advise being very cautious—this company’s customer service is extremely poor.
Headspace causes stress
Auto renewals unexpected and a lack of response when I ask about how to cancel subscription.
Headspace
Love teacher Andy and headspace! In my opinion I miss the simplicity of the original app. There are too many functions when I just want meditation guidance and sleep meditation music. Not as user friendly as it used to be. Keep it minimal.
Just meditation…
Putting off customers with auto-renewal rubbish
It's a travesty to see the reputation of this once wonderful company nose-dive due to terrible customer services!
Echoing the long list of negative reviews below, I have also been charged a renewal fee for a subscription I didn't want. I email Headspace back as soon as the notification landed in my inbox. I waited 4 days (!) for a response, which included these lines brilliant lines:
"I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, but definitely, you reached the right expert to fix this as quickly as possible.
We sincerely apologize, but we regret to inform you that we are unable to process a refund for the charge"
So.. I reached the right expert to fix the problem - they're just not going to.
It's a crying shame. The meditation content is good but nobody wants to use a company they feel treated poorly by.
Caught out by auto renew which I was…
Caught out by auto renew which I was not warned about, and also renewed at full price despite the online account showing a “50% Black Friday” rate for the subscription.
They also use shady tactics of automatically opting you into auto renewal and you must opt out manually afterwards.
Contacted support who outright refused to refund anything back.
Headspace used to be a respectable company but clearly now the only thing that matters to them now is profiteering from dark practices and shady tactics.
Avoid and use other services such as Calm.
they value 30e way more than their customers mental health
Another subscription auto-renewal. the original price is not honored. No warning email, no heads up at all.
I've contacted them the same day the subscription was renewed, it was a waste of time.
The insulting part is that they ask you for account details, card details, etc. Just to refuse any cooperation at the end, and thus further displaying how little they value their customers' time and money.
Scam
Scam, refuse to refund after a single day of accidental subscription
renewal trap doesn't match the…
renewal trap doesn't match the companies moral brand as seen by many reviews
Scam
Scam. And a bunch of scheisters. They won’t respond to your concerns, they refuse to refund. I am contacting my credit card company to dispute these charges. Headspace, shame on you.
FRAUDULENT- reported to Anti-Fraud.
This is a very disturbing organisation. Immoral isn’t a strong enough word.
I cancelled my subscription several months ago and no longer have an account with them. Despite this they’ve just tried taking £49 x 3 out of my bank account. Given that one of the founders Andy Puddicombe was a Buddhist monk their behaviour is particularly despicable.
If I could give it no stars
If I could give it no stars, I would. Buyer, be aware of this—they are a fraud. For three years, we have tried to cancel this membership. We are charged annually, but they can't seem to find our information to cancel the membership or issue a refund. STAY AWAY from Headspace as a platform and company. They engage in predatorial business practices. For what it is worth, I usually write positive and helpful reviews and keep my 'bad' experiences to myself. In this case, I could not stay silent, mainly because they are in the mental health and wellness space. My efforts over the past several years to cancel this membership are examples of corporate greed over the health of their customers.
