Thieves that steal your mental health!! AVOID!!!!
I’m extremely unhappy with my experience with Headspace. I cancelled my subscription months ago and even took the extra step of confirming it was cancelled. Despite this, I was still charged for a subscription I didn’t authorise.
When I checked my account, it showed no active subscription and no record of the payment, making it impossible to resolve the issue through their system. I contacted customer service to request a refund, but I’ve received no response at all.
After reading other reviews here, I can see this isn’t an isolated incident. It seems many others have faced the same issue of being charged after cancelling, with no help or explanation from Headspace.
This is incredibly disappointing from a company that claims to promote calm and relaxation—it’s caused me nothing but stress and frustration. I’ve since reported the issue to my bank, blocked further payments, and requested a refund.
Think twice before signing up. Their lack of accountability and poor service isn’t worth it!
Unauthorised Charges and No Support – Avoid Headspace!
I am deeply disappointed with Headspace. I cancelled my subscription months ago, and even double-checked four weeks ago to ensure it was properly cancelled. Despite this, I was charged £49.99 on 20th November 2024 without my consent.
When I logged into my account, it showed no active subscription and no record of the payment, leaving me unable to resolve the issue through their platform. I emailed Headspace immediately to request a refund, but they haven’t even bothered to respond.
After seeing similar complaints on Trustpilot, it’s clear that I’m not alone. Dozens of others are reporting the exact same issue – unauthorised charges after cancellation and no customer support.
For a company that’s supposed to promote relaxation and reduce stress, their practices are causing me nothing but anxiety and frustration. I’ve reported this matter to my credit card company, requested a refund, and blocked Headspace from making further charges.
I strongly advise others to think twice before subscribing to this service. Their lack of accountability and poor customer service is shocking. Avoid at all costs!

Headspace did the same thing to me as below. I tried to cancel on renewal date and was told it was too late. I do not want or need their product. They charged me 79.99. Buyer beware. They are difficult and will not be reasonable
Just after your money
Like others who have given a negative review, I used headspace some years ago and found it good but things have changed and after joining I found the site very cluttered, difficult to follow and disjointed, I was unimpressed and did not use it. I subsequently cancelled my account and binned the app.
I was very surprised later to get a notification that they had taken another years subscription. I contacted them the day after the payment was taken and they have refused to repay.
Clearly they are not the caring organisation that I believe they once were and are now only after your money.
At the end of a year promotion
At the end of a year promotion, Headspace informed me they were going to charge me for a full price annual membership ($70). I attempted to cancel through Apple, but I had purchased directly from headspace. I removed my payment method and canceled my account, and my account reflected it was inactive immediately.
About a month later, Headspace charged my credit card. I reached out to them, but they insisted that I had purchased through Apple’s App Store. I double-checked, but there was no Headspace subscription listed.
I let them know that, and there was no response from them at all. I was forced to do a chargeback from my bank.
The fact that my account is marked as inactive on their website still, and that there is no payment method attached to my account leads me to believe this is just the way they do business—fraudulently duping customers into renewing.

Renewed without warning and charged me for a whole year, no compassion or assistance in refunding this charge. Their customer service goes against what they claim to be as a company.
I used the app sporadically during my first year and wasn’t planning on renewing.

Steer clear
I took out a subscription a year ago. I have hardly used the application because I didn't find the exercises relaxing. I got no reminder that the subscription was coming up for renewal before the next year's funds were taken from me. When I contacted them I got what looked like an AI generated response that they could not refund me because the cancellation period had ended (even though no cancellation period had been provided). I would suggest that people steer clear of this company.
Avoid! They take your money with no warning
I trialled this company and had not understood they would charge me a year's fee after two weeks. I contacted them via the bot and by email and they said they won't refund. I had thought they were a genuine company with a mission to relieve stress. Unfortunately they just stole my money and caused stress. Unacceptable, unethical and very disappointing, I hope they feel shame to be taking money from someone for a service they don't want. I will be raising a dispute via my bank,I expect I'll get the money back, but how unnecessarily inconvenient and troubling. Ruined my evening when I was actually getting some precious headspace! I hope by putting this on here others steer well clear.
Laughable service
Disappointing experience with Headspace. The website is cluttered and confusing, making it difficult to understand what services are actually available and what my rights are as a customer. Communication is nearly impossible, with no clear support channels and an unhelpful chatbot that barely addresses issues. It feels like they’re throwing out endless topics for customers to sift through, rather than providing real guidance. The reviews they boast about are mostly from 2020, raising questions about how reliable they are. I’m a paying customer, but unfortunately, the service hasn’t met even basic expectations

Years after cancelling my subscription they randomly charged my credit card. Support is not helpful, just says "No refunds" and no further answers.
Misleading for a mental health app—causes more frustration than relief!
I signed up for the free trial of Headspace, thinking it might help with stress and mental well-being. However, I quickly realized the app wasn’t for me and planned to cancel before the trial ended. I *forgot* to cancel, and within *hours* of being charged for a full year, I reached out to customer service, explaining my mistake and requesting a refund. They flat-out *refused*, showing zero flexibility or understanding.
What makes this even worse is that this is a product meant to improve mental health, yet their rigid refund policy and lack of empathy caused nothing but frustration and stress. It’s ironic and disappointing that a mental health app would treat its users so poorly, prioritizing profit over people. For an overpriced service, you'd expect better customer care, but clearly, Headspace doesn’t care about supporting its users—just about locking them into subscriptions.
If you’re thinking about using this app for peace of mind, beware. It’s more likely to cause you stress than help reduce it!

Worst app ever. I had an appointment with a coach from this app. I log on ready for my appointment and was told the care team was unavailable and to check back later. That is
totally unacceptable especially since I had an appointment. Needless to say I contacted my medical insurance company and told them how worthless this app is. I think this app is nothing but a SCAM.
Watch the renewals
It's a good product but they are still significantly overcharging for renewal subscriptions vs if you want to cancel. This sort of thing was bad practice 20 years ago.

Shame on whoever runs and works for this company!!! I hope someone takes a serious notice of the complaints around here. This company’s goal is ONLY to take your money! I cancelled my trial subscription just before the 2-week trial ended, therefore stopped having access to the app after cancellation. Only to find out that I was billed with the annual charge after more than a year the subscription was cancelled and never renewed ever! How do you make sense of that?!!
They make and WILL make your mental health WORSE! Do not subscribe unless you are sure to be using their app FOREVER! They do not care whatsoever to any of your issues or complaints. No wonder they never pick up their phone! Their email is a bunch of copy and paste flowery words that do not make sense and help with your issues. Take a look at what everyone else’s comments around here - those are absolutely rated 1 star for a very healthy good reason! If only I could rate zer0! They take advantage of people. They have NO values in place, despite of what they claim on their website.
