A prescription was sourced on 19th Dec…

A prescription was sourced on 19th Dec in an emergency. I was assured by the health provider that I would receive the prescription before 24th Dec and therefore could present at a local pharmacy. However I then get a message from Healistic on 21st maintaining that they had not received the paper prescription , only an electronic one and due to the type of medication it could not be released until they had it . Until then I’d never heard of them. I can see that this service is very helpful to Dr’s but it wasn’t actually that helpful to the patient. But there also may have been a mix up via the medical provider.
Initially I was told I would receive a paper prescription for a medication that’s pretty expensive, however its cost varies significantly. I then get told that the prescription has in fact gone to this pharmacy, delaying accessing a medication that someone had been prescribed for over 8 years . This then caused a forced and painful withdrawal over the 12 days of Christmas, to someone who isn’t physically well . I did send an email explaining all this but got a very clipped message stating “ don’t need the patients background “ . Holidays were involved but there was a four day period before holidays started , plus another full day when DPD was operational but apparently the driver forgot to collect it ?
This maybe a useful tool to private Dr’s but it definitely let this patient down pretty badly .

We understand how serious and upsetting it is when access to long-term medication is delayed, and we regret the impact this had on you.

For certain controlled medications, we are legally required to receive the original paper prescription before the medication can be dispensed. While an electronic prescription may be issued initially, the medication cannot be released until the paper prescription is physically received. This is a regulatory requirement designed to ensure patient safety.

Unfortunately, the Christmas and public holiday period caused widespread postal and courier delays, which affected the timing of some deliveries and were outside of our direct control. We are very sorry that this coincided with your treatment needs.

We would also like to clarify that Healistic’s role is limited to dispensing and delivery once prescriptions are received. Clinical care, prescribing decisions, and medical history remain strictly between patients and their prescribers. We intentionally keep clinical and logistical services separate to safeguard patient confidentiality.

While our service is designed to support prescribers and patients, we acknowledge that on this occasion it did not meet your expectations, and we are truly sorry for that. During periods of expected disruption, such as public holidays, we recommend prescriptions for ongoing or controlled medications are arranged well in advance wherever possible.

Repetitive delivery postponement without request

If there was a ZERO star I would choose that. This is the THIRD time that my delivery is postponed without requested. I was at home the whole morning to wait for the delivery. NO-ONE was here. This is totally and utterly unacceptable. Most pathetic service EVER!!!!

Impatient driver & denied medication

Summary:
For people out of London that can afford to be in all day this service is good. But without time slots it’s painful and if you happen to miss a delivery and work it might mean you don’t get vital medication.

Detail:
On delivery my phone had run out of battery and the driver refused to wait for 2 minutes for it to charge to provide the code.

However there’s no way to reschedule a time to suit or talk to the delivery company directly. They simply attempt redelivery the next day at the time of their choosing.

So if you miss a delivery at the weekend and happen to be at work during the week… you won’t be getting anything at all because they’ll just keep attempting delivery whilst you’re out !!!

Probably won’t affect most people but those who can’t guarantee being in all day it’s worth noting as it may be easier to go to the pharmacy at a time of your choosing.

Fantastic service!
