When I signed up for this payment platform there was no mention of having to have Social Media platforms as a requirement for proof of business.
I received an email from a Joshua requesting this information in order to process my payments.I informed him that I do not use any social media platforms.
I did however send him a copy of my State Business License in which I live. I am also inspected by the State of Maine for my business. This is as far as I am concerned the best proof of business. I have to follow State guidelines to operate my business.
Not like a fabricated social media site which many people do.
I have not heard back from Joshua nor have I received payment for my transactions.
After countless emails I still have no payment. I would not recommend this company to anyone and will write a review online as well.

I am writing my reply to Helcim Trust & Safety team here as my emails are not being answered, however they are quick to reply to my negative review. Hopefully other businesses and startups will stay clear after reading my reviews and experiences.

Your message is as vague as they come. If my business did not meet your KYC/KYB/AML requirements, you should never have approved my account or allowed it to operate. Approving, allowing me to link my bank accounts, accept client payments, store payment card information and PII—then suspending my account without notice—demonstrates a deeply flawed process and lack of due diligence on your part.
Worse still, your communication implies that my transactions were potentially fraudulent or characteristic of money laundering. That is a serious insinuation. If you had any legitimate concern about a specific transaction, you could have flagged it and opened an enquiry. I bank with a top-tier financial institution that maintains far more stringent compliance protocols than most fintechs. Are you implying their compliance is weaker than yours? Please be careful what you suggest without factual basis.
Now, because of your actions, I am forced to contact my clients and ask them to cancel the payment cards they had saved in your platform and reissue their payments through another channel. This is not only an administrative nightmare but also creates distrust and reputational risk for both my business and yours — all because your internal process failed to identify issues before approving and activating my account.
You have also left me in a concerning position regarding the PII and PCI data of my clients stored on your systems. Without notice, you’ve denied access to my account and given me no proof that you’ve deleted or secured this data in compliance with your stated obligations. I require immediate written answers to the following:
1. Specific Reason for Account Suspension
Provide clear documentation of the exact findings that led to this action, including which policy or risk criteria were triggered.
2. Data Protection and Deletion (PII/PCI)
Confirm whether my clients’ and my data have been deleted. Provide your Data Subject Rights (DSR) policy, GDPR compliance procedures, and evidence of PCI DSS certification. If retention is mandatory, state the legal basis and duration.
3. Data Residency and Handling
Your support call was routed offshore. Confirm where my data is stored and processed, which third-party processors have access, and whether any PII is handled outside North America.
4. Access and Export of Records
Provide a secure export of my customer records and transactions so that I can continue servicing clients.
5. Process Accountability
Explain why onboarding approval was granted and transactions processed before final compliance verification. This failure has now directly resulted in client disruption and loss of trust.
Until these issues are addressed, the matter remains unresolved. I expect a written response within three (3) business days outlining the specific regulatory basis for your action, your data deletion confirmation, and a plan to remediate the damage caused by your internal oversight.

My husband and I own an apparel and promotional products company. A large portion of our business is drop shipping. Helcim didn't say anything about not providing payment processing to companies that mainly drop ship. Instead, they took us through a whole "onboarding" process that took over 20 minutes. They set up our account. Had us make a "test" purchase and said we were good to go.
Then, when we sent our first payment link to a customer, Helcim responded with a request for photos of our inventory, signed contracts with suppliers we purchase from, and signed service agreements with our customers. We don't engage in contracts of that nature. We are a small business. We went over all of this when we signed up.
Then they "apologized" and cancelled our account and said they would refund our customer in 5-7 days. I guess we'll be going back to Stripe and not looking back!

This is what customer service should be. Other companies have come calling, trying to beat their rates (some hear the name Helcim and hang up), but as a small family business owner I'd rather pay a little more anyway to reach a friendly, professional, accountable human being when I need help--shoutout to Medisha! What I love after being with them for 4 years: no rental fees, no equipment issues, 2 minor app issues that were both resolved quickly (no chasing after anyone!), very competitive rates, simple to understand billing, ongoing development and improvements, and best of all--they are CANADIAN.

The service has been really great. Monish who has been helping me is so responsive. Reaches out to check in and make sure all is going well. Any time I have a question, he’s promptly available. I was nervous from reading some reviews, but my experience has been top tier. It’s making me wonder why is took me so long to switch. I was with chase for like 7 years and then they were making me pay $500 for a new machine. So thank you chase for being so greedy, it made me motivated to go elsewhere. It’s been 3 weeks and I’m so happy with Helcim.

Company approved me for an account and I took my first payment this was on a Friday. Come Monday I get an email saying they want to ask me more questions. I respond to them 2 times, but then 4 days go by and all of a sudden I get an email saying that "We are not a good fit" for one another. Will not be doing business with them no more after this happened.

Have dealt with several merchant card services and we have had nothing but terrible experiences, until now. Helcim and their customer service are above and beyond what I though possible to get. When they tell you that you can pass on the fee to the customer and you are charged nothing, they actually mean it. I still cannot believe it took us this long to find a reputable credit card processer.

Sorry.. have never used this company and after reading some of these reviews, I will not be using this company. Nothing like the feeling of being left without a POS and losing money because they decided after 3 days to week when they have already approved you to figure out, "I guess we actually can't approve you"
All the security approval levels taken should be done at once! Not a 3-10 day span. Then inconvenience the business by telling them, "NO, sorry..your business is too much of a risk

I am absolutely thrilled with my new partnership with Helcim!! I initially sought out to find the lowest priced processor after 6 years of running my business and invoicing through PayPal Business.
I knew there must be a better company but admittedly I kept on with PayPal because I did everything through there…payments, invoicing and shipping.
I finally made the plunge about 2 months ago and now I’m kicking myself why on earth didn’t I do it sooner!!
Once you have your invoice design set up everything is so easy!! I bought the smart terminal too for in person events and that thing is so flipping awesome too!! Seamless integration of customers and invoicing across the app, smart terminal and website.
Everything from invoicing, to inventory management, to customer management (customers even have their own portal that they can log into to keep all their contact info and payment info up to date) - plus everything is customizable down to every automated email generated. So impressed :)
Everything is SO well it together and thought out.
Literally the only thing I could ask for is a shipping label generator - other than that everything is PERFECT!!
Jocelyn in customer service is awesome and so incredibly helpful - I will recommend this company 8 days a week.
