Total scam artists and utterly deceitful. Called him out because we had F75 showing on the boiler. He turned up and within literally 2 minutes said we needed a new pump. He asked me if we had the installation manual which I didn’t have, only the user manual. He said he wouldn’t be able to fit a new pump without it and left within 10 minutes of arriving saying if we find the installation manual to let him know. In other words, “you need a new pump, don’t know which one – have a nice life”.
A few days later I get his bill for £132. I pointed out that he didn’t do anything. I called him out to fix our boiler which he didn’t do and offered no solution. We are no better off than before his visit. I said I would pay when he fixed our boiler. He then pretended he now knew which pump we needed and that if I pay his £132 he will get a pump for £422.59 and fit for £180. £743.59 for a replacement pump on a heating system for a one bedroom flat!!
He has no idea what pump we need, he is a liar. I had to book another plumber who said he needs the “GC number” which is why Hendon and Hamstead plumbing were asking for the installation manual. They don’t need the manual, the GC number is literally written on the bottom of the boiler!!!! The new plumber knows exactly what pump to order, it’s written on the boiler!
I had to pay Hendon and Hamstead plumbing £132 for absolutely nothing because after their visit I had to call out proper plumbers that know how to fix a boiler. Even their diagnosis of a faulty pump was worthless because the new plumbers weren’t going to take that at face value and do their own diagnosis and I can’t blame them.
