On the positive side, the socks are very colourful and funky - although inevitably, you sometimes get sent ones you don't like. And it's annoying when they re-send your least favourite design a few months later!

But the main problem is that the socks are of incredibly poor quality. After wearing them about 8-10 times, they start to spring a hole. After a few more washes, you have to throw them away - because the hole is the size of your heel.

So, on balance, I would not recommend purchasing a subscription with this company.

I received a 12 month subscription of Henry J Socks as a gift. The quality of the socks is ridiculously poor and you'd be better off buying 12 pairs of socks in Primark.

The socks are not pure cotton and don't feel pleasant. They apparently have to be washed at 30 degrees and not tumble dried! - that's probably because the manufacturer is too cheap to properly test them.

I ended up asking the gifter to contact HenryJSocks to cancel the subscription and get a refund - because of the issues above but henryjsocks.co.uk completely ignored emails (I sent some myself to be sure too).

So save yourselves some money and come up with a better gift idea rather than torture a friend or family member with cheap socks that only a clown would be able to wear because of the nonsensical patterns and colours.

If you're looking for a great present idea, try a sock subscription. I purchased a 12 month sock subscription for a pair of striped socks per month as a gift. Henry e-mailed me after I placed my order to inform me that some designs would be repeated and offered me some other designs for the remainder of the year. Any other company would not had bothered to ask. Great service much appreciated. Thank you.
