The website advertises "unlimited translations and videos" for the Creator plan, but at NO point do they mention that you're only entitled to 120 minutes of translation. You can only see this information after you've paid.
A very bad shopping experience. I will never recommend this site to anyone again. I feel cheated.
This is a deceptive business practice!

Where is a zero star when you need one? I paid for creator account today and now I’m being told I have to pay more to generate a video. I’m going to ask for a refund. Please don’t pay for this if you are considering it, a complete rip off. One month subscription and I’m out of credits day 1. Too bad.

I signed up for the $29/month Creator plan specifically because it is advertised as providing "Unlimited avatar videos." This promise is completely false and severely misleading.
The core, high-quality feature the platform boasts, Avatar IV (Photo 4.0), is not unlimited at all. The paid Creator plan gives you only 10 minutes of Avatar IV credits per month. I ran out of credits after creating just a few short videos, effectively crippling the service and making it unusable for serious business content creation.
When I contacted support, they quickly confirmed this restriction, stating the high-quality feature is intentionally metered and pointing me to an obscure FAQ page after I had already purchased the plan. This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic: they advertise "unlimited" to get you to sign up, but restrict the one feature you actually need to the point of uselessness.
If you rely on the latest, most realistic avatars for your work, do not trust the "unlimited" claim. You will be forced to either use their older, lower-quality Avatar III model, or pay expensive add-on fees after just a few minutes of video. This is unacceptable for a professional business tool and is actively false advertising. Look elsewhere for transparent pricing.

Best tool for video translation. We can translate our video in all worldwide languages and get more engagement with our fans. Great work.

I paid extra for the IV-avatar feature on HeyGen, because the platform forced me to upgrade before I could generate my video. Only after upgrading did I get a message saying that my video “cannot be generated because it’s too long” and that I should split it into multiple parts. Splitting the video isn’t a solution, because the AI voice never stays consistent — each generation has a different tone, speed, and sometimes it even sounds like a completely different person.
What makes this unacceptable is that they clearly knew it wouldn’t work before asking me to pay.
On top of that, the voice output has multiple issues:
strange noises at the end of sentences,
random tone changes,
sudden shifts where it sounds like a different speaker,
inconsistent rhythm and speed.
Disappointing and feels misleading.

Extremely disappointing experience – unreliable service, critical failures, and zero accountability.
I purchased HeyGen specifically to speed up an important multilingual video project with tight deadlines. Instead, the platform completely failed on the most essential part: batch translations simply do not work. Every single language returned an error, repeatedly, despite being a basic paid feature.
Support acknowledged the issue but offered no real solution, no timeline, and no compensation. Their answer was essentially “we escalated your ticket, wait indefinitely.”
Meanwhile, my work is blocked for days, my deadlines are compromised, and I risk losing actual clients because of this service outage.
What makes it worse is the total lack of transparency:
– No explanation of why the translations fail
– No ETA
– No alternative or workaround
– No offer of refund despite the clear financial damage caused
– No prioritisation even for paying customers
HeyGen promotes itself as a professional tool, but the reliability I experienced is far from acceptable for business use. When your product fails, and your support cannot provide immediate action or accountability, customers lose trust — and I have.
Unless they fix their platform and improve customer support drastically, I cannot recommend HeyGen to anyone who depends on timely, professional results.

I've been using and paying HeyGen for more than a year. In that period, after several moths, they changed their policies and prices.
My experience is, instead of respecting compromises with paying clients, they didn't respect the content of our Tiers and what they did was simply blocking the usage.
Even though we were still paying. Support was absolutely terrible: each time we contacted and even in the same conversation, a different person was answering. We lost 2 months being blocked and paying. We had to start from zero. We had to create a new account. They offered a refund but... we never got it.
Funded again the new account and then, again they changed and increased the prices. In the past month in the service we used to use, they multiplied the prices and.... in the very last couple of weeks, again X2 over the previews increases!!!. Crazy.
And you know what? You can't really see the difference.
We contacted (again!) support and they recognize something was happening with the software. We asked for a refund (we used a lot of our credits). First time it happened, we did get some credits back. Next days something similar happened, we asked again for a refund, support recognized the glitches, but we got nothing. Just a very kind and friendly f*#@ you, by ignoring us.
You know... seems to be those kind of companies with good ideas, good products, explosive growth and very, very, very, very, VERY, I would say INCREDIBLE poor attention and disrespect to clients.
Really pushes clients to go back to the market and search for alternatives.
You know... there is life outside HeyGen. And very sunny days.

I subscribed to HeyGen on 11/18/2025 with the clear understanding that I would have unlimited usage, which was the main reason for my choice. However, I noticed that HeyGen has recently switched to a credit-based system (200 credits/minutes per month) without any prior notice. This change significantly alters the agreement and eliminates the unlimited access that was promised and guaranteed at the time of my subscription.
18 hours after, and after generating 7 short videos with less than 17 minutes in total, I am told that I have exhausted my credits. I need a refund of my $30.91 because modifying the service terms post-purchase without customer knowledge is deception and theft.
Please refund my money.
P:S - There are also many complaints on better business bureau about credit card charges even after cancellation. I have cancelled my service and will appreciate that there aren't any more monthly credit card charges on my card. Thank you.

Your team reached out but I haven't received my refund yet. I have however informed my Attorney about this deceitful marketing strategy and will take it up legally.

Not great product - looked promising so i paid for the creator plan and realized its unable to properly do a product (white background) + avatar .. it get distorting or choosing different products instead - even after attempting many times. . really different outcome to their promo video. I wouldnt recommend. better off using nano or sora and doing it yourself with more control

“At first glance it’s cool. But once you buy the expensive license and really want to get started, you realize that all the cool features require additional credits you don’t have. Buying more? Another 150. That’s a trap — and unfortunately, I fell for it.”

I have a deadline and I was misled by Heygen's customer care.
I have been told by a customer care representative, after asking several times if I would be able to process 500 videos due on Monday. The person said yes. Officially They claim that it takes 36h to process a video, it's been 4 days and my videos aren't ready.
I had bought the individual membership first, then was told that if I get teams I'll get faster processing and THEN they asked for money AGAIN, because I was finished with my "priority processing videos".
They claim you can process as many videos as you can ( as I said, I have a deadline and I DID write to customer care to make sure all was ok) but then I find out they have thresholds that they DO NOT advertise anywhere and when I ask for help, customer care stops responding.
I spent now well over 100$ and received no help, was led down over and over again.

Many features, but very unstable software. What i have experienced. Screencams are not included well in the video. Previews do not match the final version. Pauzes set in a cript are ignored or pronounced as a daye.

I paid for the annual Unlimited Plan in February 2025. At that time, “unlimited” explicitly included unlimited video translation, not just avatar videos.
In July 2025, HeyGen unilaterally changed my already-paid plan to a restricted version with only 2 hours of translation per month and a non-accumulating credit system. I was never informed. I never agreed. My original contract stated “unlimited”, and that was the reason I bought annual access.
Now HeyGen wants to sell extra credits for a feature that was already part of my prepaid plan. Support openly confirmed the change came from “upper management” and that even though my plan was active, they “cannot restore unlimited usage”, and that the previous plan “no longer exists”.
That’s not a policy update. That’s a material breach of contract.
No refund offered. No solution. Just “we changed it, deal with it” and a one time 2 hour extra translation "bonus" for the current month. Funny thing is: we never really used heygen a lot, only now for translation we need it (20 hours in total, one time).
This is misleading, unfair, and unacceptable.

HeyGen is completely unreliable. I have been having problems with my interactive avatar for two whole weeks - I can't stream it externally nor use it on the HeyGen platform, there are issues with EVERYTHING, from the knowledge base to the voice cloning. The worst part is that I'm paying 99 USD for my monthly API credits that I have not been able to use AT ALL, since NOTHING works! I am so frustrated, and the team keeps saying they are working on it but don't give me a timeline on when I can expect it to be done and barely any updates at all. All they do is keep giving me the same "solutions" that I have told them multiple times DO NOT WORK! I am really disappointed.

The worst customer support you might have.
AI emails, funny and pathetic approach. Additional payments during that you never understand why. etc. So bad experience.

I’m extremely disappointed with HeyGen’s misleading subscription details. Their pricing page clearly states “unlimited” or high-priority processing for certain plans, but the actual experience is completely different. After just a few videos, I was suddenly hit with a message saying I had “used up all high-priority videos for the month” and that new videos would take up to 36+ hours to process.
This is nowhere mentioned clearly in their plan features. If there is a strict monthly priority quota, users should be informed upfront, not after they’ve already committed to the platform. It feels deceptive and unprofessional.
I rely on fast processing for client work, and HeyGen’s hidden limitations caused missed deadlines and unnecessary delays. If a company can’t be transparent about its core features, it’s hard to trust them.
I hope HeyGen fixes this communication problem, because right now it feels like false advertising rather than a premium service.
They did not talk about (message from their community, I can not add a link here) -
Priority video processing. Why is this not mentioned anywhere?
Hello. Yesterday I paid for the Creator tariff plan, which stated that video generation is unlimited. Create and edit any number of videos without restrictions. I'm translating videos into another language. And all my videos are from 5 to 10 seconds long. But the happiness was not long-lasting. There is a warning that you have been using your videos with high priority this month. New videos will be processed at a standard speed (from a few to 36 hours) until the next billing cycle.
Click HERE to get faster videos.
It turns out that only 100 videos with processing priority are given for a month. And then in the general queue. Why is there no mention of this??? You need to be warned about this!!! It's one thing to generate 100 videos of 30 minutes each, but it's quite another thing to generate 100 videos of 5 seconds each. Where is justice?
It would be better to give a time limit than the number of requests. This is beneficial only to those who have 15-20 - minute videos. And that's 900-1200 seconds. Someone generates only 1 video. Having spent the same computing power that I would need for about 240 videos!
I think you should think about optimizing your data plans for most users.

This company is run by criminals, do not trust them with your data
twice I've tried this service, both times I've had to contact support.
Who then tell me I need to use an incognito window, when I try that and it fails I'm asked to provide several screen shots. Really bad support experience.
I'm then put on to "Advanced support" that tell me the feature I'm trying to use does't work (integrated 3rd party voices) and I need to do another complicated implementation.
How is the product and support so bad and this business is still running I don't know.
