Stay away

Stay away. This place only caters to uneducated buyers. The cars shown online are often sold already. They make their money in hidden fees and financing. The manager would not answer direct questions about fees.

After over a month talking to 2…

After over a month talking to 2 salespersons and throgh text with customer service about a 2018 Tahoe, waiting for the vehicle to finish service, sent people from my office twice, we got to see the vehicle, i confirmes that I would buy it. The told me from the beginning i could not put a deposit. After inspection i was told not to worry, they would send paperwork because it was a cash buy as asson as the vehicle left final inspection. This was saturday, monday morning I follow up and they told me they sold the vehicle. That someone put a deposit on it ( a thing I could not do because it was jot how hgreg works. Apparently, they saved the vehicle for someone having me as a plan B. I am even wondering if salespersons and managers save cars for others and take “commissions” from the buyers. Just because it does not make sense having me for a couple of weeks exchanging conversarions, paying cash for the SUV and all of a sudden they sold it, the same day I was waiting for them to send everything. Just dissapointing. Be careful what the promise. DONT TRUST them. This happened in Orlando.

The BMW X1 that I recently purchased required maintenance and I paid for this $770 and the dealer said that they are not responsible for any reimbursement. All of this happens the same month I make the purchase in HHGreg. Doral

Scum of the earth dealership

June 10th I was in the middle of the process of buying a car from HGreg Orlando dealership. I was told that the car is available and that they verified that it was still for sale and available so I continued with the purchasing process. I live in Texas, so this would be an out-of-state purchase, I put the car on my insurance plan and contracted with a transport company to deliver the car. Albert the man who was dealing with the financing charged me two thousand dollars for the down payment, at this point I was pretty comfortable knowing I had the car Later in the day, we're talking 4 hours later I got a message via text from Pedro who was the account manager telling me the deal is no longer happening because the car was sold. Deeply disappointed I spoke with Franco who works in Alberts office that I need my money back, I was told that I have "their word" ill get my money back and that they would start the transaction Friday morning 6/11/2021. Here we are now 7 days later and I still don't have my money, I've tried calling the finance office, accounting, anyone who can give me an answer. I spoke with Franco because Albert wasn't there, Franco said I have "his word" that my money is on the way, I told Franco I don't accept anyone's word there anymore, I want a PDF copy of the transaction that the money was sent back to my bank and Franco said he would get that for me. Here we are at the end of the day and still no word back on my money. I've contacted my bank to see if anything has happened on their side and they have no information at all regarding any kind of transaction pending for my account. My bank did, however, suggest that come tomorrow 6/18/2021 if there is still no activity then to continue with a fraud report. This, however, will take 60 days, but it should ensure that I receive my money and of course, in turn, it gives negative effects on the dealer... Look, I just want my money back or at least proof of the transaction back to my account, and to let everyone know that the HGreg Orlando store has horrible practices towards customers they don't have to deal with face to face.
I feel scammed and robbed of my 2 thousand dollars.
Today's date is 06/18/2021
I still don't have my money and no one at HGreg will give me any information on where it is or what happened to it.
I will begin Fraud charges towards the company on Monday through my bank.
I would never use this company again and advise everyone to stay away from these fraud / shady salespeople. They are not there for your best interest or care about the harm that they cause you. This isn't just some wrong order from McDonald's situation, this is two thousand dollars just gone.

DO NOT BUY FROM HGREG

DO NOT BUY FROM HGREG

My process has been a nightmare.

In early April, I began contacting HGreg and other dealers to purchase an Infiniti QX30. I didn't have much luck finding the right vehicle, so I eventually came back around to HGreg even though I had received next to no communication, and was not getting responses to my emails.

In late April, I found exactly the vehicle I wanted in HGreg's inventory. I attempted again to contact them, eventually speaking with an agent and putting in an application. After waiting a week and hearing nothing back about the application, I contacted HGreg (which I had to do repeatedly) until I finally got a manager. I was then told I had to fill out **another** application, and the manager I spoke with was incredibly rude and short with me as if it was my fault I had called in multiple times and spoken with multiple people. I made it clear to the manager that I was in a hurry to buy a car and had been waiting to work with someone for some time.

I was finally given an agent. I should make it clear at this point that the car I found was **exactly** what I was looking for, so I was reluctant to let it go. I have been working with the same agent since early May. I have repeatedly made it clear that I was in a hurry to purchase as I needed the vehicle for work.

It is now June 3rd, and after a series of hang-ups, delays and other unfortunate "mistakes" I am still waiting to go pick up the vehicle. I have paid the deposit, I have signed the documents, I have set up and paid the insurance in advance. All of this is meaningless, because my car is sitting in their lot as they tell me (since last FRIDAY - a week now) that they are just waiting for the bank to fund the purchase. I was told yesterday (6/2) that I would be able to pick up the car today. This morning I was told that I can't pick up the car today and they'll let me know when I can.

At this point I have to very seriously weigh my options as to whether or not I need to cancel the purchase.

The customer service has been absolutely horrible. I do not get calls or texts back in a timely fashion, in some cases not even hearing back the same day.

DO NOT BUY FROM HGREG.

It is not worth the hassle. I intended to have this purchase completed in APRIL, and I've been sitting with my hands in my lap for nearly two months at this point.

Buyer Beware with Hgreg.com used cars!!

STOP! DON’T SHOP!! BUYER BEWARE! Hgregg.com is a nightmare! Add $1700.00 on to any price you see! Do not purchase online cars with Hgreg.com! Refer to TrustPilot.com for numerous Hgreg.com 1-star reviews! Outrageously high hidden dealer fees, cars sold with major hidden defects, untrained salespeople, long phone waits, no call backs or follow up and horrible service – and that’s just before they take your money. I have purchased over a dozen cars: 9 in-state and 3 out-of-state and this is by far the worst purchasing experience I have ever had in my life. Hgreg.com is a Canadian car retailer, HGregoire, that needs to stay in Canada.

PROBLEM 1: Hgreg.com’s Horrible customer service:
I found a Nissan Rogue on Hgreg.com at what I thought was a good price ($21,988). I was purchasing online from St. Louis, MO. dealership so on Monday, 4/5/21, I called directly to the dealer.

PROBLEM 2: Hgreg.com overcharges on every car w/ huge hidden fees:
Four hours later that day, I called Hgreg.com and pressed #2 for out-of-state sales and export” and again - auto on hold from both my cell and desk phone after which both calls were disconnected at the same time without answer. (I should have quit there). I called back a few mins later and actually get an answer this time from an out-of-state sales specialist, Franco. He apologized and said there is not enough people at work today to answer the phones. I said I would purchase the car at the advertised price and Franco informs me that there is also an additional $1400.00 in Hgreg.com dealer prep fees “Pre-delivery $999.00 & Electronic filing fee $399.00” – these bogus fees from any dealership are usually no more than $200. Franco said that, “Every Hgreg car we sell must have that $1399.00 additional fees no matter what”.
So, whatever price you see advertised on Hgreg.com, automatically add an additional $1400 to get the true price of the car! Add on an additional $1700 on to every Hgreg.com car purchase if you like a second key fab (standard with all other dealers) because Hgreg.com keeps the second key fab for themselves and they put that in writing in your contract Key fabs go for over $300 from any dealership.
The first purchase agreement I received from Hgreg.com was totaled over $26K because they included 10.629% ($2600) Florida sales tax and $75 temporary Fl license tag. I had to argue with the Hgreg.com rep Franco that I should not be charged for either fee since I am purchasing out-of-state and I will have to pay sales tax at the DMV in Missouri not in Florida. I also mention that on the FL DMV website temporary tags cost only $5 so what does Hgreg.com need the other $65 for? – we know the answer. Franco then said, “let me see if I can ok with this with my manager”. He returned my call a few hours later and said he would remove the sales tax & Florida tag charges. – This is the out-of-state sales department – right? Shouldn’t they know this with every car purchase? I am confident that if I had not questioned these overcharges Hgreg.com would gladly taken even more of my money over the “advertised price”.

PROBLEM 3: Defective Car with Expensive Hidden Defects with Hgreg.com cars:
The inspector “My Used Car Buddy” recommended by Hgreg.com must have accidently missed some key defects and even a hole cut into the bottom of the front bumper where spliced and taped up wires were stuffed into the front bumper. But you only have 48 hours to discover these defects upon receipt of your Hgreg.com car or the car is yours to keep. My Rogue was in a “minor accident” on CarFax – not true. The entire front end of the Rogue was rebuilt and not attached properly but was epoxied back to the frame. When I took the Rogue to my St. Louis Nissan dealer and they plugged into the car computer, they found 25 error messages. The wiring harness had been spiced up and retaped together instead of replaced with all new wiring harness - which voided all manufacture warranties and any future extended warranties for any electrical problem that will occur under the hood – which is just about everything. The Nisson certified mechanic said the Hgreg.com car looked like it went through a chop shop for accident repair. Cost to repair to reactivate warrantee will be over $7000.00! As Franco said to me multiple times “at Hgreg we buy as is and we sell as is” and they are not kidding they buy junk without inspection or certification and they sell junk to you without guarantee. BUYER BEWARE!

I should have read reviews before…go elsewhere!

I should have read reviews before purchasing from this dealership. I was searching for a retirement car gift to myself. I found the car here in Florida, as I reside in Ohio. Needless to say after this experience I'll NEVER purchase from here let alone out of state. They were rude, quick to end the conversation when I had questions and made me feel like a number not a customer. I guess I wanted this vehicle so bad I overlooked the red flags. It took four weeks from time I placed a deposit to delivery.
The car arrived dirty inside and outside. One set of keys, no charging unit as indicated and found signs of paint correction from damage, horrible taping and repair work on the rear bumper and in finished clear buffing on the front bumper. I told the salesman my complaints and all I got in response was I'll let the manager know. Car fax reported minor front damage. Whoever repaired it needs to be fired.
I'm just waiting for the next let down however if I stop looking at the car harder I won't find it.
Do yourself a favor go elsewhere, wish I would have.

Car Buying with No Frills and Nothing Else

My experience with two separate locations of this company was truly 2 stars, and for different reasons. For the Doral, FL location lets just say that their communications was awful, and it would be my suggestion for potential car buyers to only use this company as a place to test drive a car so that you know its really what you want. If you go further than this, you are doing so at your own risk. At the WPB location we did end up buying the same model car from this location, but truthfully the post-"we've got a deal" experience left a lot to be desired. I've bought about 15 cars and never have experienced a post-deal made experience where I was delivered the car in dirty condition (it did look like someone sprayed a hose on the car to "wash" it, if you can call it that), but oh, so much more was lacking. The "like new" looking car mats that were in the trunk were removed, the cars owners manual had been replaced by a totally different vehicle than the one I bought, and there was absolutely no information given to me about what maintenance such as an oil change was done to the car. So, HGreg, thanks so much for the Ford Truck owners manual, the missing car mats (some very old, worn mats were given to me when I complained), the numerous crumbs and grass clippings that were throughout the car, and my having to guess whether or not I need to have the oil changed any time soon due to a lack of information being provided to me. So, as I have said earlier, if you must actually buy a car from this Dealership, its my humble opinion that you think long and hard about what you are doing and don't say afterwards that you haven't been warned that things might not end up as sweet as you think. I stand 100% by all and every word that I have provided in this review.

I bought a Nissan Rogue 2020 car on Feb…

I bought a Nissan Rogue 2020 car on Feb 6 this year with a clean CARFAX and no accidents whatsoever and basic warranty of 3 years or 36000 miles left. We did not finance from them. So on 17th April we just escaped a major accident on I95 when the car speed dropped from 80 to 30 without any brakes so since we had no other option left so had to tow it to nearest nissan service center and there we come to know it needs a complete engine replacement and also engine warranty has been voided back in May 2020 so now we have to pay 12k dollars out of our pocket to bring it back to driving condition. And it has title issues since it had front end damage in 2020 which was never disclosed to us. And the sales manager of Hgreg says that we can't do anything since my 3 days time period is gone and the sold the vehicle "As is". And now we are in a complete debt of 13k dollars as loan and my car is worth 0 dollars until I pay another 12k dollars.
The sales manager also said that they would have pushed and waived off the loan amount if we would have financed it from them.
So really we are ruined at this point of time.
We have reported this to BBB because it's not my fault either to buy this car and get cheated

Car was sold to me that was never repaired properly

I purchased a 2020 White BMW 330i from HGreg West Palm Beach location. I worked with Akm the sales person and Paul was the Manager on duty, Armando was the finance officer. I test drove the vehicle, and there was no issues at the time. I was shown a copy of the Carfax report that stated the car was in a previous accident. I was also shown a different report from another company and told that the vehicle is sold as is but has been fully repaired and has no issues according to that report. 3 days after I went home with my car I started hearing a noise coming from the front suspension, another day passes and the check engine light comes on. Then the driver assist features started to malfunction. I spoke with Armando the finance officer about the issue and he assured me that he would forward my concerns over to the sales manager who would give me a call in 15 minutes. After about an hour, I followed up about an unrelated issue and was told that I would get a call from the sales manager to check out the problem. It's been almost two weeks. I've heard nothing from Hgreg. I have to take the car to BMW and pay out of pocket to repair a car that Hgreg sales person told me had no issues. Yes, the car has warranty but because of a previous accident BMW refuses to repair under warranty. Needless to say, I am disappointed with my purchase and the lack of transparency. I should have check Trust Pilot and seen the 1.8 star rating.

worst experience ever, still no resolution

Hello,

My name is Daniel Hernandez, I am not pleased to be writing a complaint letter, but this is the worst customer experience I have yet to encounter. I purchased a vehicle from the doral Miami location on 12/27/2020 and purchased a 2017 cadillac XT5 and made a large down payment of $9350 for a car priced at $24k. Immediately after leaving the lot, the engine light came on, called the store servicing department, and told them the issue immediately, then my AC stopped working so I brought the car in.

I waited patiently to get the work done and even made two trips because the part that was needed had to be ordered. After getting my car ac fixed, I still had the engine light and when I call the service department, they told me that it is because the “computer needed to be reset” which is not a big deal and then next thing you know my car will NOT turn on.

I had no choice but to get the car towed to my local Cadillac dealer since it could not drive, the Cadillac service department at Bayview Cadillac to be specific.
Bayview Cadillac technician by the name of Paul Barresi was able to confirm that the reason for my engine not turning on was due to screw from the AC that was lodged into the engine which damaged practically and totally to a $18k repair job which voided the factory warranty that car has.
After many phone calls I was finally able to speak with TORREY LUNN the general manager at HGreg Doral, for almost 3 weeks without a car Torrey and I have been texting to try and work out the repair as he conveyed to me that they will be willing to “goodwill” and pay for my engine repair, also keep in mind I have NOT even made my 2nd payment yet.
Finally the Cadillac service department was able to give a wholesale cost for the repair and totally to 9k in cost and Torrey calls me to let me know that Hgreg will credit me $5,500 in to pay for my repairs that were not my fault, I let him know that this was unacceptable and asked him why did waste all that time if you were not going to cover the whole repair? He was insistent on having the car towed to another mechanic to do the repairs to get a better cost, which is super inconvenient to myself because then I would have no choice but to pay $1795 to bayview Cadillac for the inspection and labor it took to determine the car’s issue and that it was OUT of warranty.

The Hgreg customer servicer manager did not even return my calls or email (Mateo Baute)

Monday 03/15 and Tuesday 03/16 the general manager of doral locationTorrey Lunn did not return my calls and or text messages which were simply asking for the corporate office’s information.

The customer service rep Mateo Baute, did not return my calls nor emails yet I am seeing him actively addressing negative reviews such as mine.

Now the insurance company is unsure if they can payout my insurance claim because Hgreg did not give me a receipt or document showing they performed service on my car.

I might have 15k loan and no car because of HGREG, please BEWARE!
Livid is not a word to describe how I am feeling, I have no car to drive right now, still paying my car payment and insurance and still no resolution.

What a Bad experience

What a Bad experience. I drive 2 hours to see a car, car is good. Go to financing, yes my credit is not the best but they approved me with a large deposit, it is a little late so the finance guy left!!! You still have a customer there and you leave??it was on 02/14/2021 So I text the next day as I wanted to ask one question if the lender would do the deal for a little less down $500 to $1,000, my salesman Leandro text me back "For that you need to be here, we don't discuss payment over the phone". What? I was there the day before, tried the car, want the car. After saying I am 2 hours away etc (he knew) he says someone with the finance department will call you. Someone call with a payment that was $100 more per month than the day before, he was not counting my deposit, was adding stuff I did not asked for so he said I will call you back. never heard from him, we are the next day at 4:00pm. Tried to reach my salesman, he doesn't answer but text me right away "text me". Tried to call a few times to the store today but you go through their "calling center" they transfer you but they don't answer in Doral except one time this morning and they put me on hold for 10 minutes and I hanged up. First time and last time I waste my time at Hgreg. The salesman told me, I am not on commission so you buy or not it doesn't matter, I can see that now. Oh and I am not a kid I am in my 50's and almost never write reviews might be my 3rd one, it has to be very bad. By the way car is $200.00 less today 2/16/2021 Too bad as I was ready to buy that Volt. and yes I checked the box to let Hgreg know about this. I could change this review if someone at Hgreg would talk to me and explain what is going on but I have little hope.

unprofessional workers + terrible customer service = hgreg.com Orlando location

To be clear I'm only giving one star bc you have to leave one in order to leave a review. They don't deserve it. This has been the worst car buying experience of my life. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. First, I was emailing the company about the availability of a car and never received any responses besides the automated email that an hgreg.com rep will get back to you soon. (the reason why I was emailing was because I was in Italy at the time and didn't want to use my minutes on this) after a week of no replies, I ended up having to call international anyway to ask about the car bc they never responded) I was already pre-approved for a loan from USAA and wanted to have the whole deal ready so I could start driving again as soon as I returned from overseas. The first associate who was helping me in the out of state department was great. sadly, he quit halfway through my transaction and went to another car dealership. (I should have went as well) bc after that it was all downhill. I asked for a video of the car bc I was out of the country and wanted a walk around video. everyday I was promised, you'll have your video by this time. (I still don't have the video) I was told that not many people are working the Orlando store, so it's hard to get someone to take the video. my paperwork was supposed to be sent before I even left Italy so it would be at the house when I arrived...it was sent a week after I had already been back in the states. this dealership moves so slow. I'm still waiting on my 1000 refund that was supposed to be refunded to me a week ago. after finally receiving the paperwork supposedly sent overnight which equaled 4 additional days 🙄 i ask if I can just take it all to the Orlando store and get the car already. I'm at my wits end with these people and their procrastination. I was told yes after I had to call back even though the associate said he would call back in "fifteen minutes tops" (I also must note that my messages took days for a response or weren't even read until I followed up) I drive the 2hr drive to the dealership and tell the store mgr Vincent what's going on. He tells me that I should have a check from USAA. I let him know that I have already sent the dealer funding request 4 times to other associates bc this should all be ready to go, he seems confused and asks me to log in to my USAA which I did just to show him what I just finished explaining. I asked to see the car bc I still haven't seen a video. I also must mention that I was expecting minimal associates there bc I never received a video, but there was so many people working and by working I mean talking, laughing, playing around, hugging each other and just general foolery was going on. no wonder I never received a video! anyway finally they say the car is outside. No one walks me to the car to show it or anything. I see that you guys don't work off of commission, but damn you guys are really rude. I basically sold this car to myself. hgreg.com has been so unhelpful, rude, uncaring, and extremely dismissive when I expressed my concerns about some things with the car. the only associate who was kind was the last lady I saw before leaving the dealership. she truly deserves better than working for hgreg. I gotta say the best ending to this whole transaction is when leaving the dealership you have to give a card to the "security guard" so I'm driving away and I stop at a table i ask are you the security guard and the kid just points at my card and says "that's mine" and just takes the card. no thank you, no hi, no have a good night. this place was a total joke! I really wanted to cancel the whole transaction but hgreg.com turned me off to the whole car buying experience and I just wanted it to be over. this was my first time buying from a car place that wasn't an actual dealership and I'll never do it again. it's worth the extra dollars to have a nice experience with pleasant associates. I have more to say, but I've really wasted too much time on this place.

This place is terrible terrible

This place is terrible terrible . Let me start off by saying do not buy a car here. I went to look at a car from their site and the car was sold back in June so they didn’t even have it ok no biggie. First when I picked out the car I was so excited my boyfriend bought me this car it’s a beauty perfect for me . We spend 6 hours doing paperwork and submitting and sending and signing. Ok weird to spend 6 hour at car dealership but whatever. Soon as I’m about to get the keys and take the car home they handed me a broken key. they definitely didn’t show this when they were selling the car. Again we are tired hungry and ready to go home so after all of this the option was for us to buy the key on eBay, after some back and fourth we agreed that they would get the key for us. So I’m finally heading home and soon as I get down the road the check engine light comes on. It’s like you gotta be kidding me . So I called to let them know and I got an appointment for the next day at 9 am to bring the car back . So we bring the car at 9 am to Elliot Rios in the service department which was absolutely amazing to be honest he has been the only person that has helped us through this situation. He took the car to get diagnosed poor kid was running around like a crazy person. After waiting 4 hours all we could do is bring the car back because they had to order the piece . ok fine at least it’s going to get fixed, we take off another two days to bring the car back I have to leave the car over night. Omg we cant take the days off and keep losing money but I need the car so I have no choice Again Elliot was super helpful took us step by step and made sure the car was serviced and given back to me before he ended his shift. I pick up the car drive it home it was great . I go to work the next day and the dam check engine light come right back on. I’m so frustrated and pissed at this place. Now I have to take days off again to get the freaking car fixed which should have been fixed in the first place. Fml if you call they leave you on hold for hours then hang up and when you call back they don’t answer. Emailing Elliot was the only way to get a solution. I feel so bad for him everything is dumped on this poor kid with no help . Everyone is so worried about their looks sitting around doing nothing. Smoking and spitting all over the place . Maybe they should move Elliot to the front desk and things will run much smoother smh .I have never seen anything like it. Anyways at the end of it all thanks again to Elliot Rios my key was replaced and my car was fixed. Although it took almost a month and going back and fourth it made it happen. Well I just got it back so God willing it’s fixed. DO NOT GO CAR SHOPPING HERE!!!!! You will regret it!! This place is a disappointment especially for such a well known company.

Deceptive pricing tactics, buyer beware

I visited an HGreg dealership to purchase a Toyota Yaris. I knew what I wanted and the pricing looked good on their website. WRONG! I knew there could be fees so I asked the salesman about all that up front. He lied and only told me some of the fees to bait me into test-driving the car and doing all the paperwork in a hot, crowded office. Then finally, after wasting hours of my time, he gives me a new paper with all these new dealer fees--WAYYY more than what they'd told me and what was advertised. When I tried to say the new fees were bogus, the salesman got angry and started yelling. That was the end of that.
