Booking was easy. I had one hostel that closed after I had booked and I was notified right way with time to book a different hostel

Simple, easy and polite. Let's see how much money I need to pay because I am not member of Hostelling INternational

I only wish all hostels were covered by this system . My attempt to book hostels in France not covered were Caen and Pontivy where I am still attempting to make a booking.

Everything was so good with the reservation via Hostelling International, just an observation, the final price of the reservation, was not the price we have to pay in the hostel, so maybe you shoul tell the people about this little thing.

We tried to book 4 persons (3 male and 1 female).
Age: 12, 15, 54 and 55 years.
The systems only accepted 1 person, the female.
I noticed it to late, after the payment. It happens!
The system was confusing, it was not easy to handle.

Then I started the second try with success!
The accepted the 4 persons.

Affordable accommodations, right in the center of the city.

I appreciate that you can book a room with just a deposit. This is very helpful for people travelling in Norway by buses, not sure if they will make their connections.

Easy to find and book but the deposit I paid was not shown when I was paying at hostel. I did not get info about check-in time and sheets in confirmation. It would have helped.

Happy to make the EUR 0.60 'Sustainability' donation as requested...but found it rather ironic that Napoli Mergellina Hostel have no waste recycling system operating for their guests! I'd carefully separated my material but was told at reception '...just chuck it in any of our general waste bins.' Will think twice now about the optional donation.
On a similar note, Neapolitans and I guess many tourists ought to be ashamed of themselves - the smoking and rubbish/litter everywhere in the streets is appalling! The Planet, at least here, is a REAL MESS.

I just bought a Membership card of Hostelling International which is Valid worldwide. And I found it great. one thing that I would like to bring to notice is regarding the availability of beds. Since I was unable to find a accommodation in Youth Hostels in Munich. I would urge HI to increase their Beds Capacity for popular tourist sites.

At first, we uses booking.com. But we remeberd the good experience with youthhotels in London, so we switched to this website

The room was perfectly clean and the breakfast was very rich and varied. The staff is helpful and available. A very good place!

Easy and straightforward to book.Nice hostel in a good location though not all the advertised facilities were available due to refurbishment.

Dear Hostelling,
the booking over the net was easy. However, I was not informed by the hostel in Vancouver that I will not receive a physical membership card when booking over the net and will have to go to the hostel in person (no problem with that) but have to pay another $ 10.00 to actually receive a physical card. I do not appreciate to only receive half the information necessary to decide myself how I will renew my membership.

No sweat and easy as pie. Looking forward to the journey.

Clear and simple booking process, worked well on my mobile phone. Had to take out an annual Hi membership as part of the process but that was very quick. Everything ready on arrival, check-in took less than a minute. Great way to book a room.
