Something as simple as restoring the color that you didn't change to black and white monitoring, as it must've changed on its own. Is like an Easter egg hunt to figure out. Whereas the online videos... See more

Hik Vision is so bad
Hik Vision is so bad, i can't put into words how bad it is.
It was installed by a professional, even he struggled with the non existent instructions. As for recording, if nothing moves in the picture, then fine, but if you are wanting to pick up something moving. No chance. As for the play back system, it jumps forwards and backwards, it's no use whatsoever. As for the customer service, don't even go there. I even went into the Hik Vision shop, over the Riverside ind est in Middlesbrough. What a bunch of ignorant, arrogant (i won't put a swear word here as it will no doubt get deleted) but you get my drift. Save your time and money and go else where. I've had mine about 2 years, and it's defo getting changed. If i could give 0 stars. I would
I wonder if the only people giving this a decent rating
either work for the Hiccup Joke Vision or are on commission with them. No way, can you give this product or customer service more than 1 star
same problems as described in most off…
same problems as described in most off reviews from below. I cannot reset password for nvr and ip camera with it. not getting any files back from support after uploading required xml file. more likely I will have to buy another kit.
UK Support & help
Contact this company for help, they could not have done less. Seem keen to shut down the request by doing as little as possible. Will avoid this companies products for this reason.
Avoid! No support and products impossible to find
Avoid! I had one of their cameras so I thought I would look through the website and buy more to suit my needs. They advertise these products but they won’t sell them to you or tell you where you can get them! Customer support useless.
Hikvision UK provide the best support…
Hikvision UK provide the best support to installers. They will go above and beyond & can respond within a matter of minutes, despite their call volumes.
I would highly recommend HIKVision to anyone who was needing a Network/IP Camera Solution.
Thanks HIKVision
I won't buy from Hikvision again
When I chose Hikvision for my home system, I thought I was going for one of the best. I found found the Hikvision kit to be less than average for the price. The DVR software is rubbish.. It simply does not work as it is meant to when downloading footage, it has a mind of its own and creates unreadable files. Customer support have refused to deal with me as I am not a 'professional' installer. Well get this Hikvision, I am a professional designer and specifier of systems, and I will remember your attitude.
Worse than Bad
They may have decent quality kit but their customer service in the UK is non existent - To the extent that I have ditched their NVR and Cameras and bought from a reputable dealer - do not buy
This company is a joke and especially…
This company is a joke and especially the customer support/no support,,I bought a used dvr that needed the password resetting and they would absolutely not help at all, they said it is for security reasons,,so why did it take me 5 mins online to get the password removed by a none hikvision sorce???? Security Reasons??? Your a joke,it took me a few presses of a keyboard to get it unlocked, but because they are so insecure,I am gonna change it for a Swann, goodbye
HIKvision really is rubbish
We inherited the HIKvision system. Safe to say I would have paid for something better. The software is total rubbish. It has issues with Chrome and virtually all other, modern browsers. Live view works on the ipad app but not in Chrome. It can be made to work but the procedure is a joke. Playback is buggy, hangs and is generally unreliable. What you want is something that works and WHEN you need the video footage you expect it to be there. HIKvision is NOT what you want.
Unimpressive Customer Support
Having just shelled out 2k on a new CCTV system from Hikvision you'd expect I can email support as an end-user (WITHOUT RESISTANCE), for help setting up Privacy Mask via the iVMS-4200 software on a PC. WRONG!
My neighbours deserve privacy and Hikvision won't give it to them. How about sending me a user guide? NOPE.
Hikvision won't help me unless I email the following details which I cannot as I don't know...
Name, Contact Number, Company Name, Company Address, Country, Customer Type, Purchase from, Complete Device Serial Number(s), Firmware Version, Type of issue.
Thanks for nothing Hikvsion.
Poor quality system
Poor quality system. Had it for about 5 years and we can longer buy a battery for the alarm box! A joke
Rubbish camera software when it works…
Rubbish camera software when it works and now that it's stopped working there's no one responding to emails. The software is horrendous for looking back over recordings. Doesn't tell you when there's been activity on the camera and panning is extremely painful when looking manually.
The rest of the reviews on here pretty much sum it up.
horrible software very complicated and…
horrible software very complicated and not userfriendly
Now installed over 10,000 Hik cameras…
Now installed over 10,000 Hik cameras and would not use any other product. Hik is not a DIY product and should only be installed by professionals. HIK provide full training and excellent support to their installation partners. They do not provide support to end users, so make sure you have them installed by a professional, reliable approved installer and you will benefit from the superior technology, quality and reliability.
Absolute rubbish
Don’t want to give it 1* more like -10. It was going wrong so my installer upgraded it and since then it’s been a nightmare. Firstly the upgrade is an absolute load of rubbish and as my installer doesn’t appear to know how to get it running properly I am left with 2 cameras that don’t work properly. No help from HikVision available anywhere. I would never buy this again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it.
Cheap for a reason - buggy software, non-existent support
I had several Hikvision IR dome cameras and a doorbell. Would never buy from them again. Although the basic technology is quite impressive, the cams were useless due to horribly buggy software and non-existing support. Even something as simple as a firmware update could turn into a nightmare. My doorbell "disappeared" from the Hikvision site. Their business model is to bait new clients with fancy tech specs and to constantly bring new models while failing to support the previous models. In short: Hikvision is for geeky tinkerers who like to spend a lot of time learning the bugs of their camera software and who are ready to "upgrade" their cameras every year.
choose something else.....NOT Hik
Unreliable equipment that fails all too easily. Completely unhelpful customer services who just refuse to engage. An expensive system where I wish I had gone elsewhere.
Chinese Junk
The actual cameras are good quality with solid features but this is POINTLESS without good stable software service and an easy way to set it all up. The whole HikVision ecosystem is so painful it’s an absolute dealbreaker. Only way is to use the cameras with third party NVRs like Synology etc. Go for RING or NEST if you can and side step the Chinase surveillance issues too.
Don't work properly
Absolutely terrible service. The cameras only work when they want to. When an intruder comes in, which I may add has been several times, with proof of items stolen, the cameras freeze or play a section of 3 minutes on a loop so it looks as though it's real time. The police don't believe that the cameras are freezing and required video evidence for a burglary. The app, based in Rotherham, Yorkshire does not work properly and often forgets my password, even though I know it. The cameras are connected to the local hospital and when the computer at the hospital malfunctions, my cameras also reboot only when the hospital has fixed the issue. The cameras also stop when the NowTv 63 WiFi networks are intercepted by the SAS secret service retired neighbours intruding into my privacy along with the FBI agent in the US. When I called the engineer that installed the system, he said the only person that could hack this system was the Military or Secret Services. I am very disappointed because I keep calling the engineer who installed it and he never calls me back to fix the issue. The police recommended I installed a CCTV system to catch the people that were abusing me because I had no proof. It's been a waste of money.
