Scam, nearly fell for it, but thank god I went with my gut feeling

Scam site, directed to it by a convincing person who messaged from gumtree. Said they'd transfer the money now if I provided a check from this site.

Stay away from this website, it's just another scam!

Yes this is a scam had the same thing as others wanted my bike but wouldn't come round to see he said he was 5 miles away I offered to pay for report if he came to see it but refused DON'T PAY FOR A REPORT unless you want to be ripped off
Since I posted they have tried again here's

Had a call from 07446 967966 claiming to be interested in my car and wanted me to do a check through this company as he had tried but they would only let the owner do the check. Don’t know how he’d tried to do the check without the full reg number.

Can’t put zero stars. Scum. They pretend to be interested in your car but only if you send them a history report. Report has to be from this website only. Fact is, if you’re cognitively functioning you can see from the website it’s a scam. They want your details (bank). Ignore.

SCAM ALERT - SELLERS OF CARS BE WARNED

received an SMS asking if the car I am selling was still for sale. They asked lots of relevant questions, very good questions and surprisingly excellent English.

Arranged a date & time for viewing and even told me where they were travelling from (had done their homework to be within 20 miles of my location)

Then boom…they wanted me to provide an HPI report using historyreport.co.uk

Alarm bells were instantly ringing

First of all it’s the buyer who should do an HPI check/report, not the seller (even though I have one)

Secondly they started getting desperate for me to provide the report and sent messages explaining why it was important and how trustworthy this website was….hilarious

The person called themselves Alyesha and the number they were using is 07400 599666

Scam! Avoid! pretended he wanted to buy my car and at the end wanted me to use this website and buy a report.

Almost tricked me into checking my car, called me out the blue from gumtree add.
Good job he was halfwit with a stupid name!

The same happened to me. Someone was really interested in the car I had for sale, but the buyer wanted history check specifically from this site. I became suspicious, checked the reviews and domain looks really dodgy. I would not trust it.

Careful, scammer tried to contact me saying he would buy my car, all seemed legit until finally he asked for a history report from this website. Avoid

Website owners harvest contact details of victims by going through local ads of cars for sale. They express interest in the listed cars and tell sellers they're ready to pay the full price the same day, as long as the seller provides a HPI check purchased from "History Report"

The domain has been registered a month ago, yet their business:
- claims to be 'trusted by millions'
- doesn't contain a company registration number
- features clearly fake reviews
- doesn't provide a contact phone number
