Customer Services absolutely useless

Rang to upgrade my daughter and her boyfriend’s last minute booking after their trip to Milan was cancelled less than 24 hours before they were due to go.
I wanted to pay for an upgrade as a surprise to give them access to a hot tub to try to make the situation a little nicer and got told no, because I am not the person who’s name is on the booking. That’s the whole point of arranging a surprise upgrade!!! But even after explaining the situation it’s a hard no.
Luckily the park is trying their best to make it happen after these muppets cannot use an ounce of discretion.
Please review your procedures as this kind of thing is ridiculous

Fishguard holiday park south wales

We spent 2 nights in the caravan. Had to sleep in living room as the bedrooms were absolutely freezing and the tiny electric heater was not any good at all. The next thing is shower. You either take cold shower or you burn yourselves with boiling hot water as it won’t let you adjust the temperature. Bear in mind this aa reported couple of times but was just ignored. We were with kids so all were sleeping in living room where they had fireplace which helped a bit.this was our first staycation with Hoeseason and would definitely not recommend this to anyone.

Woe Seasons not Hoseasons

Having booked a holiday with Hoseasons for April 2023 and paid the full balance in February we were all set to go, then at the beginning of march my wife had become incapacitated with a bulging disc in her lower back, this is still on going and waiting to see a consultant. On booking the holiday we thought that we had taken out insurance but Hoseasons informed us we had not done so a genuine mistake on my part. so I contacted Hoseasons to ask to cancel the holiday but was told I would have to lose 75 percent of the cost of the holiday,so I asked if I could move the holiday to a different month in the year and told this was not possible, the lack of care and consideration was abysmal and will not be booking with Hoseasons ever again.

Still waiting for a response!!

I sent hoseasons the following letter after a holiday from hell with them:-

Dear Hoseasons,

I am seeking a full refund for the holiday I have just experienced at The Sherwood Hideaway Lodges.

Here is my review which explains everything that we had to go through bearing in mind we had only spent a little over 24 hours at the park. Please read and respond.

When I booked this holiday for me and my family on the Hoseasons website it showed us in the search criteria that there was a pool on the site, however we arrived and found out that the pool cost £15 each per day to use the pool and it was only for over 21s! So my ten year old son who was with us was not allowed to use the pool. Had we of known this prior to booking we would have not booked the holiday at all! We had to then book swimming at a pool in Mansfield which was a half an our drive away and cost us another £20.

The holiday cabin was not cleaned properly. On the first evening I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and because the floor had not been cleaned a small piece of glass got stuck in my foot. I then had to sit on me bed and squeeze out this tiny piece of glass. That did not impress me very much!

The next morning I then found a large piece of glass in my son's bedroom where he had slept the night. Luckily he had not stepped on it so I picked it up and took a photo.

The next thing was because the cabin floor had not been cleaned my son got an enormous splinter stuck in his big toe. I then began hoovering the place while my wife tried to get this splinter out of my son's toe. He was not very happy at all!! After me and my wife's failed attempts to remove the splinter we then had to drive 30 minutes to A&E at Mansfield hospital where we spent all afternoon waiting for a doctor who did manage to remove the splinter. We then went straight to the swimming pool and recheduled our swimming session as it was booked for that afternoon. They were very helpful and rescheduled our swimming session for the Thursday which was in a couple of days time.

We then went back to Sherwood Hideaway Lodges and spoke to the reception staff and told them about our day. The lady at the reception apologised and offered to hoover the place. I had already hoovered it myself. This is something I expect to have been done properly before I arrive seen as the holiday cost me over £800 for one week.

Me and my family then went back to the holiday cabin to hopefully begin enjoying our holiday. My wife decided that as none of us had eaten that day she was going to make us all bacon sandwiches. My wife turned on the hob and indeed did make us all bacon sandwiches however when she tried to turn the hob off. It would not turn off so she had to turn the whole oven off at the wall. Then we realised we would not be able to use the oven anymore as one of the hobbs just remained on at all times. Not good!

I then decided to have a shower and my son decided to have a bath. There was no shower door on the shower and the en suite shower was positioned about a metre away from the bed with no privacy at all. Even the glass to the shower was clear! I took a shower but I had to be really careful not to flood the whole bedroom as there was no shower door. Also the shower did not drain and the water just sat in the shower basin. When my son got out of his bath the water did not drain. So the whole place had draining issues that needed sorting out before letting the property out to anyone!

It then started raining outside. But heavy rain. The cabin had an electric fire in the corner of the lounge area which had a flue going up to the ceiling. As the rain got heavier water began dripping from the flue over the socket for the electric fire. I then went to reception which was empty as it was now getting later so I called the emergency number which was on the door to reception. The man who answered my call said he could not help as it was too late to get someone out that night and he never offered us any alternative accomodation. We then realised this was a health and safety issue so we had no alternative but to leave the accomodation before somebody got electricuted. We packed up and left the day after we had arrived and then my wife had to drive all the way back home in torrentail rain.

The next morning we waited for The Sherwood Hideaway Lodges to call us and maybe apologise about the fact that we had to leave. The call never came so that afternoon I called them and explained why we had to leave. The lady on reception never apologised or offered us a refund, or part refund and just kept saying that the leak had now been fixed. Very, very disappointing!!

I look forward to your response.

It is now th 25th February 2023 and I am still waiting for a response! Don't worry though. My credit card company have spent months on my case and have issued me a refund for this holiday! I will never ever book with them again and I advise anybody else not to book with them also!

Hawkchurch Resort & Spa - No EV Charging? Seriously?!!

Hawkchurch Resort & Spa

Overall a comfortable, well-looked after and well-located holiday location with good facilities .
However, for all the flannel on their website regarding eco-awareness and responsibility, to have over 100 lodges at a location which can, in effect, only be accessed by car and not have any facility on site to charge an electric vehicle is completely ridiculous. They even operate a small EV to service lodges etc so I am very puzzled by this, to my mind, glaring omission.

There is even a huge solar electricity farm literally on the opposite side of the road from the site for heavens sake!

On this basis, alone, I will not be returning.

Booked a cabin break for 2 for the…

Booked a cabin break for 2 for the duration of 3 nights, starting from 27th - 30th December 22.
This was reserved and the deposit paid via debit card on the Hoeseasons website on August 3rd 22.
When paying the deposit, the yellow link stated this break required a “low deposit” of £25.00 to secure the booking, which I clicked to pay, assuming this link was a standard requirement to navigate to the debit card secure section of their website.
I entered my card details, paid the requested deposit and even saved my card details for the future remaining balance. The payment went through quickly without any issues and I received an email confirmation regarding my payment transaction and holiday details, recapping the property, a map and details of park facilities etc.
I saved my email confirmation with details of the lodge, deposit payment and noticed a contact number printed on the form stating to call this number if I required any assistance, had any questions or if I needed to discuss changing my holiday date. I also noticed with this form they enclosed a copy of the terms and conditions of the company policy, which I saved with the email. I understand by law that companies must enclose copies and highlight their terms and conditions to their customers, usually for health & safety and security reasons etc.
In October due to illness and upcoming hospital appointments, I had no option but to cancel my short break, bearing in mind the company was notified over 10 weeks in advance and before the full balance was due to be collected. I expected to lose my deposit just for cancelling the dates which was fine, however I was not expecting a collections email stating an additional balance of £75 must be paid for choosing the “low deposit option!”
It wasn’t stated anywhere on the payment section or the confirmation email, that a fee of £75 per booking will be charged if holiday is cancelled before the balance due date!
I understand that the deposit fee of £25 will be lost if a customer wishes to cancel, as it covered the admin costs and reservation fees etc, however if a customer requests to cancel providing ample notice and before the balance due date, I find it unfair to request an additional charge! I was told that this is stated in the terms and conditions and applies to every customer choosing the low deposit option. I wish I had known/noticed this, as I would never have booked! I’ve cancelled bookings with less notice time and wasn’t requested to pay additional fees! Maybe it needs to be stated in bold on email confirmation!

Terrible company to deal

Paid deposit £25 , had to cancelled 7 months before break, only 1 week break, wife lost job and I’m disabled , got money problems, informed by company, even though gave them 7 months notice, have to give them another £110, because of the small print, explain the situation they did not care just demanding the extra money, even though unemployed, told them they can have £1 a month, please do not use this company, heartless company

DISPICABLE COMPANIES , why have an insurance to cover illness, death etc if you can't get your refund ???…

After initially contacting Hoeseasons to book a holiday let in the IOW it came up with Cottages.com and gets even more confusing who you are dealing as i had to cancel due to ill health and no one logged this on either the 8th Sept or 9th Sept 2022 but then got told to cancel when i had rang in again as not heard no confirmation about my cancellation, i was told that i had to contact another company to make a claim for my refund WHAT THE ??? called Alliance Assistence and no one has heard of them that is why i could not get through having waited 40 mins on the phone !!!
DO NOT BOTHER TO BOOK WITH EITHER BOTH SHODDY COMPANIES . WHY WOULD I TAKE OUT AN INSURANCE IF I WAS NOT GOING TO GET MY FULL PAYMENT BACK OR AT LESS PRETTY MUCH IT ALL BACK, No all i have been offered out of £464 is just under £20 an insult indeed , I AM FUMING AND IN CONTACT WITH MY BANK , NEXT IS ABTA . DISPICABLE ALL ROUND DONT TOUCH EVER .

DO NOT BOOK WITH HOSEASONS

I booked a lodge holiday at Landal Kenwick Woods only to be told by Hoseasons six days later that the lodge I had booked was unavailable (an alternative was provided, but was different to what had been selcted and not what I wanted). Hoseasons said they had tried unsuccessfully to contact me by telephone (they tried once) and then sent me an e-mail advising me to call their Customer Services telephone number. Good luck trying to call the Customer Services telephone number - there is a long wait!! Best to try after 6.00 pm. When I did finally speak to someone they put me on hold as they were not sure why I had been contacted. Once connected to the correct person, I was advised by a harrassed lady (it sounded like she had made the same telephone call to various people that day) that this was due to Hoseasons having one booking system and Landal Kenwick Woods having another booking system which did not sync with one another and that this was not the first time that such an issue had occurred. For a supposedly reputable Company with years of experience you would expect them to have an adequate procedure in place to prevent this from happening. I was advised that my refund would be credited to me instantly, but am still waiting. Also, do not attempt to speak to the Live Chat as their only advice is to contact Customer Services. Will not use Hoseasons again.

Customer service is appalling

Customer service is appalling. Wouldn’t book with them again. Be better using haven or Butlins.

Their lowest price guarantee is misleading.

Terrible customer service.

Terrible customer service.
We booked two UK lodges for over £2,000 requesting them to be next to each other. We were advised a week before the two lodges were 10 minutes walk apart.

We made numerous calls to Hoeseasons, the newer staff tried to help but were unable. When we asked to speak to a manager several times, they were unavailable. We were promised a call back on Sunday afternoon, nothing happened. We rang at 9am on Monday, again promised a call back by the end of the day. Had to chase them as no word by 19.30pm - all senior staff were in a meeting.

When the manager called he had decided he wasn't going to help us, and that was tough, our problem. He also said he would charge us for cancellation. Unlike the other advisors he lacked empathy, the ability to listen or care for us as a customer.

This was an expensive UK break and we are shocked by the contempt we received from both the park and Hoeseasons. We won't be booking with them again and will be advising our friends not to.

I would urge caution in booking with them, as if an issue occurs junior staff aren't in a position to help (despite them being kind and understanding) and management are absent, unhelpful and arrogant.

Poor customer service and poor holidays

Booked a boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads, the boat from Barnes Brinkcraft was very poor and leaked that much we ended the holiday early.
I wrote a complaint to Hoeseasons and Barnes Brinkcraft and none of them could be bothered to reply.

I have been trying to contact Hoeseasons for three days. Twice by phone, waited for 58 mins, twice by email with no response, once by txt- surprise surprise not delivered. I need to contact to cancel my booking, due to corona virus I have lost my job and now can’t afford to go. It seems impossible to make any contact. I am utterly disgusted with their non service.
