Dealing with Kat, who booked my holiday , was very easy .She explained everything well and answered my questions clearly
We have travelled with SAGA for 29 years and have always had excellent service Jack was brilliant with my booking today very helpful SAGA is highly appreciated by us
I have travelled with them before. Wonderful company particularly for the elderly. They take care of you from door-to-door and make your travel easy. Helpful assistants through the booking process. Thank you to Samantha.
The Saga representative was polite, clear, professional and helpful. Ready to answer any questions I had
I was not sent my online documents or an e mail saying they were available on line though only 2 weeks until I travel. Found them on Saga on line. It said I could check in for BA flights and gave booking codes. I regularly fly with BA so am am very used to doing on line check in. I tried to check in a number of times using the codes they had given but BA site kept giving an error message ´wrong code/name ´. I have a screen shot of this to prove this. I even cleared all my cookies and tried 2 different browsers. Still did not work. So I phoned Saga and spoke to a representative who implied numerous times I did not know what I was doing and she could get in and told me to ring BA. Of course they said it was an error coming from Saga as a group booking. I tried later and got on to the outward flight booking (did Saga do something after my complaint?) but still cannot access my inbound flight. The flights have different booking references which it does not if you book yourself and not on a Saga group flight.
Hopefully after writing this Saga will sort it out. Or I will never get home!
So SAGA sort this out and get your staff to treat customers with some respect and listen to what they are saying and not treat them as if they are totally incapable.
Generally I got everything I needed for my holiday. Very impressive.
One point I found annoying was they mentioned you could pick your seat, once flight details out.
SAGA you forgot to mention picking a seat costs up to £49 a trip and a considerable amount there and back.
SAGA HOLIDAYS
What wonderfull customer service I received today by a gentleman by the name of Graham.
We booked this holiday about a year ago to Malta at the end of this month and their service has be superb through out . Cutting a very long story short they resovled a problem with K M MALTA AIRLINES over medical baggage which the airline was being difficult about, wanting to charge me for. We had all the rellevent documents including letters from my specialist say that they were needed of our holiday. As we were going for a month. Malta airlines would not do anything until 45 days before departure. Then yesterday 2nd of September they said that they would take what we needed upto a max of 5kg per person seperatley and it could not be pooled in one case. After a a long conversation with Graham he conversed with his managers and SAGA as a company solved the problem for me at their exspence Thank you once again for taking the stress out of this scenario.
I am writing this review after someone asked me if I would recommend Saga cruises. We travelled with them in 2025 on the German/Austria wine region cruise. It was costly but we got a reduction and ended up right at the end of the corridor downstairs. The worst room but we were aware that we wouldn't have a window. On booking the holiday, we were advised that we had to be fit and able as there would be a lot of walking and climbing stairs. And this is where I felt we were largely mislead. I was 63 and it was my partners 60th birthday. We are both fit and able but my partner takes blood pressure tablets and I had a kidney stone. Saga insurance flatly refused to insure us. So we were lead to believe that the people we would be travelling with would all be able bodied. I cannot fault the phone/letter correspondence. The ship was good and credit especially to the hard working background staff who make the cogs turn in the engine. However, the front line staff and Captain were just odd and lacked basics in customer hospitality. Many of the passengers were similar to us in that they were relatively fit, independent and there for the experience. But a core group of infirm and elderly had to be constantly helped, held up the buses on several occasions and it was like going out on a sunshine variety bus each day. We would be walking around our daily destination and see the staff trying to manage the core group of trip attendees as they dropped food down themselves or fell over or created a fuss. It was like spending a week in a care home. And the staff pander to these people as they know they are their core business. If you want to witness where your taxes are being spent, I suggest Saga are the recipients of a good dollop of it. The holiday descended into what can only be described as kindegarten behaviour with one cantankerous woman waving her walking stick at us and shouting on the night of my husbands birthday. I did make a complaint that evening but all the Captain did was hug me which I found beyond weird. So unless you are incontinent or need constantly nannying and don't mind waiting on coaches for hours whilst the less able amble their way there, then Saga is not for you. The fun suckers are there to spoil it for everyone else. We found out the hard way to our cost. The actual date of the cruise was April 2025
Final docts still not received.then emailed copy unobtainable.
Totally fed up!!
Antony and Tabitha at Saga went out of their way to find me the rooms to suit us on our holiday. They were very knowagable about the booking process and very helpful and patient.
Booking made easy by friendly and efficient Millie who went out of her way to get me the trip to Stirling for Christmas that I wanted.
This, my first Saga trip, is very good value for a Christmas break.
As ever, painless. Saga may be a bit expensive but worth it.
Spoke to Sandra, extremely helpful, answered my questions. Whole experience efficient and easy, so nice to speak to a real person. A pleasure.
It was an exceptionally easy experience. CHANDAN was clear, carefull and knowledgeable and answered my questions professionally. Amazingly polite and amusing too.
Thank you very much .
Perfect saga Nile cruise. Excellent staff. Excellent food. 5*
Wethoroughly enjoyed our cruise and would have no hesitation in recommending it. It was a memorable holiday combining history, culture, relaxation and excellent service. If you are considering a Nile cruise, Saga would certainly be a choice I would recommend.
Holiday ref S232633 1 September 2026
I am very disappointed at having to write this after already having one wonderful holiday with SAGA this year
Some background. This holiday is flying with Jet2 who first some reason do not allow 3rd parties to do online check in it has to be done by whoever books the seats ie SAGA This has been confirmed to me more than once by SAGA agents .I do have the Jet2 app and used the code I have to try check in myself but it wouldn’t allow me .It even says in the holiday confirmation documents from SAGA that they will do the online check in and boarding passes will be sent with my final documents.Fair enough.
Check in can be done 28 days before departure.
On Monday 17th August 2 weeks away from my holiday I had not received any paperwork.i am someone who prefers paper rather than digital and being vaguely aware that for my last holiday I received the paperwork much earlier I rang SAGA and this is where things went so wrong if I could give no stars for customer service I would
The male agent I spoke to gave wrong misleading information causing some stress. He told me that no they do not do online check in myself must do it.i told him the code I have is not recognised so he gave me one it was the one I had .I told him the on more than one occasion I had been told SAGA does the check in again he said no .He even allegedly went away to check with a colleague to confirm this .Told me if I had any problems to ring JET2 and gave me their phone no.I said you expect me to ring JET2 myself yes he said I’m sorry I didn’t keep the number but I suspect it may not have worked .He was dismissive not bothered
I went back to the app and again it came up with I needed SAGA permission to boom seats .I was then forced to ring again .This time totally different story I spoke to a lovely lady who not only confirmed that they had done online check in gave me seat numbers ad home pick up time .Told me the final documents had been issued but would email them to me just in case and so we came to another problem she made 3 attempts to email them with no luck which I couldn’t understand .On further investigation it was discovered that the guy before hadn’t removed the no email indicator from my account when she did this they came through in seconds
She was most helpful and qanat I expect from SAGA
This then raised another alarm bell with me the previous agent said he would email the documents to me but would take 2 to 3 hours for me to receive them .3What nonsense and how was he going to do this if he hadn’t removed the indicators.
Also if he had the documents on his screen how come he didn’t see the boarding pass etc and the quite clear statement within them that SAGA doe the online check in and that boarding passes will be sent with my final documents had been
I don’t know what conclusion to draw from this except someone should listen to the call .He either needs a lot more training totally indifferent attitude and gives very misleading information which caused a great deal of stress .it was almost as if he couldn’t care less
Heaven help anyone who gets him if they are trying to book a holiday
I look forward to it respoonse
The young lady who arranged our booking was pleasantly engaging and took us carefully and helpfully through the process to a successful completion of the booking.
The booking process was very smooth. The lady was polite patient and very helpful. First class job.
