Experienced and collaborative approach to property investment

I have been working with Gavin Perrett from Holland Asset Management for just over two years. He has introduced me to property investment opportunities in the North East England and opened my eyes to the excellent yields and capital growth potential by operating in that area. By following Gavin’s strategic planning I have invested successfully in two commercial properties and one residential property. All three have cash flowed well and I am now selling all three properties for a profit. I am looking forward to working with Gavin on the next phase of my portfolio planning!

I was introduced to Gavin Perrett from Holland Asset Management by a friend to help with a property investment in the North. After several conversations, I was presented with a property that was described as suitable for use as a holiday let. This was a key reason I decided to move forward.

I paid a fee to secure the deal, after being clearly told that if the investment fell through and no suitable alternative was found, I would receive a full refund.

A few months later, I visited the property and was informed by the owner that the lease does not allow it to be used as a holiday let. This was extremely disappointing, as this restriction should have been identified during Holland Asset Managements due diligence.

Since then, I have made multiple attempts to contact Gavin to discuss the situation, but my calls have not been returned. I also formally requested a refund several weeks ago and have received no response from either Gavin or the company.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to carry out thorough independent checks before proceeding and to be cautious.

I am still awaiting a resolution and the return of my fee.

I will be seeking legal advise and will be reporting the company to the FCA. I advise anyone else experiencing the same to come forward as I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

I have known Gavin and the team at Holland for many years and have always been impressed by his knowledge and contacts within the industry. We wanted to step into the buy to let world and buy a couple of properties but we didn’t really know where to start.  Hawkhurst were recommended to us and we met Gavin and the team initially to discuss our financial situation and plans and they told us very clearly what they could help us with which turned out to be pretty much everything.  They talked us through our options and led us through what could have been a tricky path with total ease and open communication. We put all our trust in Hawkhurst (and Liddle Perrett for the mortgage advice) and two years down the line we are reaping the rewards with a healthy monthly income from the rental houses and a profit from both houses purchased.  They know their stuff and made it easy for us.
