As an 84 year old pensioner I can’t go on street marches to protest but 38 degrees is a way of letting me have a say and we do make a difference sometimes It lets me think I am doing something to help the petitions it is a great organisation

I'm also 82 and sometimes 38 Degrees is the only thing that gives me hope

I'm also 82 and sometimes contributing to the work of 38 Degrees is the only thing that gives me hope when almost everything in the wider world and in our own country otherwise makes me feel so powerless. By coming together with no political or financial axe to grind we can have some chance of effecting change and challenging harmful influences.

Being part of the 38 degrees community helps me be in touch with current affairs.

Being part of the 38 degrees community helps me feel connected to issues of the day that affect us all. I feel that I am able to have my say and may in some way help influence our society. 38 degrees monitor what is going on politically in our country and highlight issues and concerns that we might not otherwise be aware of, until it's too late. Keep up the good work!

Passionate campaigners for causes

They are passionate campaigners for the causes they undertake. I don’t always agree with the campaigns, so I don’t support those, but only the ones I do agree with.
They don’t appear to take money from corporate sources so are funded by their members. Hence don’t complain about them; join and get them to campaign on your issues.

38 Degrees gives the 'silent majority' a voice.

38 Degrees gives us the opportunity to campaign for the things we care about, such as our health and social care. We can begin to feel more hopeful, in spite of all the one-sided propaganda that is being spread on social media, because we can come together to work for a more fair and.caring society.

38 Degrees review

38 Degrees cover a wide landscape of opinions and cover a lot of topics. If I feel a reaction to any petitions then I either sign them or not. It is always my decision and they are always very clear on what they are proposing. My only mini gripe would be about asking whether I want to contribute or not as regardless of whether you can donate or not the payment page always comes up. If this could be amended then they would get a higher star rating from me. They do a good job overall but there is always room for improvement. Nothing is ever perfect as the petitions show.

38 Degrees helps us hold the powerful to account

38 Degrees helps all of us take action on the things that matter to us, from local issues to international ones. They are never pushy and leave you to make up your own mind, while giving you accurate information about what others are doing and how each campaign is doing. They are vital to holding politicians to account and creating space for people to join together to make a difference

Empowerment

I have been donating to 38 Degrees for many years as I wholly agree with their mission to make people aware of government policies that may affect the populace adversely. This is similar to what journalists do. The 38 Degrees organisation gives me the power to add my 'vote' to their petitions. It enables democracy and makes me feel I'm participating with others who think similarly, and that I'm not a lone voice.

You're not alone

This is a site supported by and reported by individuals. Companies can't swamp our opinions and can't bribe their way to launder their reputation.
When I post an opinion somewhere it feels a bit futile because I'm just a lone voice, but when I do this at 38 Degrees or even just vote there, it feels like I'm adding a little weight to the argument and lots of people joining in can really make a difference.
We have made a big difference using 38 Degrees and many important issues have been brought out and influenced the establishment.

A voice for all people

What this company does well is stand up for what I believe in - humane values, justice and preservation of this beautiful planet. - and show me that thousands of others do too. It also gives me at ninety and others physically unable to walk far or stand, an opportunity to stress their opinions without physically protesting.
My huge concern at the moment is that Britain is supporting the cruel genocide of the natives of Palestine by providing arms to the perpetrators.

Why the four stars then and not five? My only reservation is that you may be spreading yourselves so widely that your e-mail recipients could feel swamped and become impatient. I reluctantly limit myself to people rather than animals and to causes most dear to my heart and wonder if there could be more sharing of appeals between charities?
Well done though, and best wishes.

Balanced views

Gives a balanced view of current issues. Good to have a forum to voice opinions that are not politically motivated. If you don’t agree with the wording of a petition the ‘I’m not signing’ option is obvious. When it comes to the choice of issues for the organisation to address it’s actually great to be asked!

So grateful for 38 Degrees

38 degrees do an amazing job of representing truth, fairness and social justice at a time when there is so much disinformation and ignorance.
They consistently ask their community what they should focus on and campaign for those things. I do receive a lot of communication from them but I take action when I can and always find the campaigns informative and well researched. I am grateful to their team for playing an important role in balancing the unfiltered hatred and intolerance that is growing in our society.

Great campaigns to get involved with.

38 degrees provide me with a convenient way of influencing government, businesses and individuals on issues that concern me. I contribute monthly as well as making individual payments on specific campaigns. 38 Degree supporters have significant influence.

We are SO lucky to have 38 degrees

We are SO lucky to have an organisation like 38 degrees who are not afraid to challenge what they (and many more of us) see as wrong or unjust etc. They give us a voice, and they DO get things changed for the better. I am proud to be a supporter. Long may they continue.

An essential part of democracy

38 degrees campaigns on issues I care about, so it is an organisation that ordinary people can support easily. They are like investigative journalists, highlighting and challenging questionable
behaviour, often very successfully. This is so badly needed in any democracy, especially today.

38 Degrees are up there with the best…

38 Degrees are up there with the best ethical organisations on the planet. Their expertise and knowledge is matched brilliantly with their empathy and compassion. They also leave me free to express my own thoughts. Six stars!
