I wrote a scathing review roughly one year ago, saxo is up to it's old tricks again this past few weeks, demanding information which would put a government mandated tax inspector to Shame, I provided all of the requested information a year ago and they unlocked my account, having frozen it for six weeks. In the end I withdrew 50% of my funds and moved to the infinitely Superior IBKR
They're not getting me to jump through their hoops a second time, I'll close my account altogether if they persist
Saxo used to be very good but have completely gone to the dogs

This has been my experience with Saxo Group. It can take several calls/communications to get a correct answer. You need to be persistent! It would be good if everyone was as thorough as Davish.

We don’t have enough information from this review to locate your account or understand exactly what happened in your case, especially why it took over two months for you to receive your funds. That timeline is not what we aim for, so I’d really like to review your specific situation in detail.
On your comment about “endless KYC”:
As an FCA‑regulated firm, we’re legally required to carry out customer due diligence under the UK Money Laundering Regulations and FCA rules (including SYSC and the Financial Crime Guide). This means we must:
- Verify customers’ identities and, where relevant, the source of funds/wealth.
- Keep information up to date over time (ongoing KYC), not just when the account is opened.
- Sometimes request additional documents if circumstances change or if earlier documents no longer meet regulatory standards.
We appreciate this can feel excessive from a client’s perspective, especially if you’re asked for documents more than once. However, we cannot release or transfer funds if required checks are incomplete or not satisfied – doing so would put us in breach of our regulatory obligations.
That said, the process should still be handled as efficiently and clearly as possible. If there were unnecessary delays or poor communication in your case, we’d like to understand where and fix it.
