As a Saxo VIP client, having a dedicated Relationship Manager means that when I have a question about the system I can talk to someone who can help me quickly. My relationship manager, Jeff, is quick to respond and make requests to enable my needs. When I requested to trade some obscure stocks in an international market, he had them added to the system within a day. He also helped me understand how to trade options with Saxo on their SaxoTrader platform. They have also been responsive to requests about developing new tax reporting related tools. The options for algo trading are extensive and available in more markets than their key competitors which is one of the reasons Saxo is my go-to platform.

Review Title: A 7-Hour Onboarding Ordeal: Tech Glitches, Poor UX, and a Rigid System
The Experience:
I attempted to move a US portfolio of 88 stocks to Saxo, but the onboarding process was an exercise in frustration. Despite spending over seven hours on manual entry, the system’s technical inadequacies made the transfer impossible.
Key Failures for Potential Users to Note:
• The "Whack-a-Mole" Search Box: The stock selection box is nearly unusable. Typing a name gives you a micro-second to select before the list scrolls wildly or goes blank. I had to restart searches for 80% of my 88 stocks.
• The "ETFs Only" Initial Bug: Initially, the transfer box would only show ETFs and Funds. It took multiple emails for "Stocks" to magically appear as an option—suggesting backend fixes are reactive rather than proactive.
• Meaningless Data Validation: The system forces an "End of Day" price check that is fundamentally flawed for long-term investors. For stocks bought in multiple tranches over years (dips and spikes), there is no "Multi-Purchase" option. You are forced to fabricate a single "average" entry, which the system then rejects if the arbitrary price doesn't hit a specific daily range.
• Small Entry Windows & No Drafts: The UI is cramped, the scrolling speed is poorly calibrated, and there is zero confirmation that your progress is being saved.
• The "3-Stock Stand-off": After manually entering 87 stocks, I was told 3 (ET, SRUUF, and MPLX) were not accepted. Instead of allowing me to simply delete those 3 and proceed with the other 84, the Saxo AI informed me I would have to restart the entire 88-stock entry from scratch.
Verdict:
Requiring a client to manually type in a large portfolio rather than using industry-standard electronic transfer protocols is archaic. I have cancelled my application and requested a refund of my £100 deposit. I am moving to somewhere like Interactive Brokers (IBKR), who may offer the automated, professional service a serious investor expects.

Have just been through an Onboarding process with Saxo to allow our company to invest in the markets using Saxo as a broker. It is a time consuming process bus was made very easy by the Saxo team and in particular by Charlotte. She was in very regular communication with us and explained each step clearly and efficiently. Clear instructions were given as to the documents we needed to provide and timeframes were given as to when we were to expect a response.

Jaya the customer service agent helped solve a tricky account issue , and 2 other agents previously could not solve it before her. It was a slightly tricky request possibly.
She got the answer then forwarded me a email in the case log and gave it back to me for my records. very good service. She went above and beyond and her english seemed very good. Response time good, everything met well. Knowledge good too.
also saxo in general has lowered its monthly fees for stock ISA its very cheap now per month and the dealing fees too have got much more cheaper..
the one small issue I saw is that in order to take part in votes for shares on company decision there is a charge of 5 USD per Share / vote to vote. So unless its a giant company ( very high stock price per share usually) it seems you will pay many multiples higher than your shares value just to cast every single vote 5USD each!!! Not sure this is just saxo doing this issue with votes being exorbitantly expensive or its industry wide? But either way its too expensive and gives smaller share holders less voting rights as they are priced out.

I’ve had a really positive experience with Saxo Group. The platform is professional, reliable, and offers a wide range of trading and investment options. Everything feels secure and well-designed, and the customer support team are knowledgeable and helpful. It’s clear they operate at a high standard within the industry.

THE most appalling and incompetent treatment of an established customer.
I passed Saxo's vetting procedure to set up an account in 2022 and load it with approved funds to trade shares. 2 years later, they embarked on a KYC process which I understand has to happen from time to time. Unfortunately they became obsessed with my company dividends which were not physically taken out of the company but rather left in as an investment or directors loan, as I had cash reserves, as explained when I set up the account. This was not acceptable apparently, and my failure to show a bank transfer of those dividends, which did not exist, and is perfectly normal, was apparently cause for them to deny me access to my account and fire sell all my shares at a £30k loss. They even asked for the evidence that my company bought the private shares instead, would of course have been illegal - these guys are just not fit to trade. Whether or not I cash my dividends was of no relevance to my account or KYC. Do not trust your money with these out and out sharks who will throw you in a ditch for no reason.

I recently attempted an ISA transfer with Saxo and it has been an utterly frustrating experience. From the start, I received no meaningful updates on the progress of my transfer. They repeatedly told me they were waiting for information from my existing provider, but my provider had already sent everything over weeks ago and were actually waiting for Saxo to provide their bank details for the transfer!
Trying to get answers was even more frustrating. Their in-app chat will cut you off if they don’t want to deal with you, phone lines are perpetually busy with recorded messages, and emails go unanswered. The app itself is not intuitive at all, which only adds to the stress when it’s your money at stake.
Overall, Saxo’s lack of communication, poor app usability, and inability to provide support make this a very stressful and unreliable platform. I would not recommend it.

So I wrote about my experience with Saxo several months ago and how they locked my account for four weeks and demanded everything about me bar my fingerprints,in the last week they literally took several thousand from my account, instead of my receiving the semi annual coupon from my UK government GILTS,the reverse occurred,I became poorer not richer, they deducted the coupon value, Saxo are now under new ownership and boy does it show
