home8 alarm out of business

I have a lot of equipment from home8.
It used to work ok. Past years there were some big outages since the system changed owners.
Unfortunate the last owners now stopped completely. All subscription users got an email end 2025 that they would stop the services.
This system doesn’t work without the servers/ stand alone.
All equipment is now useless and can’t be used anymore.

I was called at 8:30 at night to tell…

I was called at 8:30 at night to tell me that i had a 10pm interview. To work for these people! 10 pm . So when i typed in the website my scam sensors lit up like vegas!!! So I told the scout that called me and she hung up really fast. Now i cant even reach her by phone. I swear you scammers need a new get down. This old shit just isnt working anymore. STOP WASTING EVERYONES TIME. Apparently you cant work for them until you make a sizeable investment. YA! RIGHT. I wouldnt have applied if i had a sizeable investment to give to them. THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME

I bought the system when the company…

I bought the system when the company was Oplink. I got in on the ground floor. It was great!!! These new people that have the company now just phucked it all up. Don't waste your money. You'll be sorry. I can't even set the date below. That's how long ago I purchased the system. Buy a ring doorbell. You'll be better protected for a lot less. It's shameful what they have done.

For all the Home 8 people that are…

For all the Home 8 people that are rightfully upset...I'm an installer of security products and sold Home 8/ OPLINK. They are gone in a very competitive market. There products were very low price on the initial investment. May I suggest RING, Amazon servers so your signal will rarely go down. You don't need a RING doorbell they make an iNSIDE cam for 59 bucks! $39 a year! The alarm set is nice too. Simplysafe is an option. AJAX/Canada new but sweet and a little more$$$. Stay safe!

Disappointed

Disappointed. Moved from one house to another and planned to use the same alarm system. I have sensors and around 6 cameras , garage opener, ....entire security system. Paid a bunch of money on these products and use them for a long time and have been very happy to discover now when I moved into another house that the company went out of business. Of anyone decides for a class action please contact me.

Home 8 is gone forever.

I write this as of April 2, 2023. Home 8 has been offline for several months now. OPU will not link up and the phone app is DOA. No I do not think it is an AWS problem. Like other posters we too have spent a fair amount of money on the security system. I've since gathered all my cameras and sensors together and will be recycling them soon. A class action lawsuit would be great but I bet there is no one left in this one man garage operation. On the internet it is very tough for the buyer to be aware.

I have a home8 system and for 4 months i've tryed to contac home8 support and when i call there # it saids this # is out of service. When i e-mail them at cust. Service i nerver get a resp.

Home8 down

My system came back up last week, and seems to be working as it should. All their web sites are down. Go to any of their sites including their store, and it will not open. If it continues to work, I will up my review. Also I canceled my premium service. When every thing seems to be working without any problems, I will renew my service.

they're back!

Home8 is back online. YAY! I have to say that I have had this system for many years and have had good luck with it. Yes, the system has been down for a long time but when it is working, it is a great system. If they could have just communicated the issue and updated their users on progress for a fix, their users would have felt a whole lot less stress and anger. Hoping it is back for good.

Their system went down just after I…

Their system went down just after I bought a new siren. The techie could not get the siren to work on my system even after 8 or more hours. Home8 sent an email this week stating they are having problems with Amazon Automation (or whatever it's called) but they are "working" the issue. If I had to guess, Home8 was shutdown for non-payment. Anyway, Home8 did refund my money for the siren. But, now I'm stuck with several hundreds of dollars of useless equipment.

My system stopped working 4-5 weeks ago and yet no response from customer service, called and emailed them several times, if they can't fix an issue like this , they should not operate as a company who sells security services

I have sent several emails to Home8…

I have sent several emails to Home8 support and no response for the last 2 weeks…not even an automated response that they received my email…I also called their support number and left a message, but no response back…They indicated in their only response she that issue was being caused by AWS which appears to be total bull! The system worked fine for about 3 years and now my home is unprotected…i am going to stop payment on the next transaction for July…How can they get away with this!!?!?

We need to do a class action lawsuit against home8. This is ridiculous that we cant access our own security system, no customer service helping us, not answering phone calls or email's and just a waste of our money. So much anxiety and stress. I should of just went with ring or blink. Home8 is a Terrible company.
