We are Homemade Homes the experienced property sales team within Accent Housing. Homemade Homes by Accent is a brand name for the sale of homes owned by Accent Housing Limited and Accent Homemade Limited.
We specialise in Shared Ownership, another way to buy your home. You buy a percentage and pay rent on the rest. We own just part of it – but you’re living there, you decorate it and decide when to sell.
Buying a percentage means a smaller deposit and a smaller mortgage. It’s a sooner first step on the ladder for lots of people. Usually, you can carry on buying further shares to own it 100%.
Buying a share means you need a lower mortgage and deposit than purchasing a property outright. This makes it a cost-effective way to own your own home and ideal for first-time buyers. Shared Ownership usually works out less per month than renting privately.
We want to be ‘with you for your journey’, whether that is helping you to take the first step onto the housing ladder or helping you search for a new home, we will be right there with you.
We have Shared Ownership homes across the country, from Surrey to Yorkshire and have helped hundreds of people fulfil their home ownership ambitions. We offer new and resale Shared Ownership homes as well as helping our current customers buy more of their home or sell it when they want to move on.

Aftercare? Ongoing problems.
When I paid the reservation fee, I discovered that the garden gate was completely dislodged and broken. They told me it had been repaired before I bought the house. However, the repair work was done hastily. The gate is not fixed in place and the lock does not fit into the lock hole. Despite reporting this multiple times, it still hasn’t been replaced with a new one or properly secured. Additionally, when the driveway was constructed, it was sloped towards the front of my house instead of the drainage, causing all the rainwater to accumulate in front of my house. Also, the fences started coming loose in just six months, and I see rusty nails every day. I noticed that the houses in the same development that are not shared ownership have better quality materials (doors, cupboards, etc.). The garden is not levelled, making it very difficult to place a table. When the boiler is running, it leaks water, which I reported, but no one has addressed it. Additionally, I mentioned the bulges on the wall, but again, no one has taken care of it.

I couldn’t fault this company one little bit, ash got my reservation sorted and put through, Josh took the viewings and showed us round, he was very polite and was always willing to answer questions! - just what I needed as a first time buyer. Lucy was absolutely fantastic, her speed with answering emails was second to none, together we chased solicitors which lead to a quick process. Thank you to all involved to help me purchase my first house on my own!

Couldn't have asked for better!
I purchased last month and I must say from start to finish it was made alot easier with the team I had. Josh, Lucy and Charlotte were brilliant throughout start with Josh always updating and reassuring, Lucy was amazing and helped on so many issues (as I'm first time buyer mostly my worries) and Charlotte for viewings handover and ongoing support!!
