ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE experience with this company. They are called HOMEPROTECT but in my experience they will do absolutely anything to NOT protect your home if you ever need to make a claim. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. They voided my policy and said I did not declare a drain collapse that happened a few years ago that was fixed when I was with another insurer. They called me multiple times over months at inconvenient times and interrogated me almost like a criminal as to why I had not declared this. They had me convinced that I did not declare the drain collapse. They sent me an email on a FRIDAY EVENING to tell me they had voided my policy and thus leaving my home uninsured and in a precarious situation. After they had voided my policy I tried to find the original policy document they sent me. I was was extremely stressed and upset. Thankfully I managed to find the original policy document and statement of fact. It stated clearly that I HAD declared drain collapse and that it had been repaired. This whole experience has been extremely stressful and upsetting and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. I think the press maybe interested in this story and I want to warn as many people as possible.
I WOULD BE SKEPTICAL OF SOME OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS.

This was the most stressful and time-wasting experience I have ever encountered. I asked for one small change to my new policy. Your people pretended they could help, but left me in the lurch. Three times someone said they would phone me back and none of them did. One of them even cancelled my policy. By day 2 of being passed around I was so stressed I was getting tearful (pretending it was due to bereavement). It wasn’t until I spoke to something like the 6th person, that I got someone who knew what to do. I am aghast at the poor knowledge levels by the majority of your staff.

I have insured my house through Homeprotect for many years now. They use well respected insurance companies to provide cover and I have found over the years that they do not impose large premium increases on renewal. I often shop around near renewal time but fail to find alternatives offering the same level of cover at prices worth the hassle of changing. This year, I increased my rebuilding cost and updated the fact that my 2 adult children were no longer resident and the premium actually went down to below the previous year's. I was able to effect the changes via a web chat which will not suit everyone, but it actually worked well. I have never had to make a claim so cannot comment on how well that works

Fine if you never make a claim. it has now been 8 months since my claim started and not only have they still not stopped the escape of water but have tried to charge me a second excess even though there has not been a bathroom in place for 5 months now. Also left one other room unusable. i had to put in a formal complaint so they have now stopped all work. Some of the workers they used were also rude and aggressive.
