Homewise tried their best to help me proceed with a property I liked, but when my Buyer pulled out of my sale at the last minute , everything fell apart.
It had been too stressful to find another buyer at such short notice , especially as I had packed up everything to move .
I am now struggling to get my life back together, and the shock of loosing the £895 fee I was charged by Homewise , and other fees I had been charged through the sales process.
I have learnt a hard lesson, that the process isn’t as smooth as i was hoping it to be, especially as I am on my own.
Please make sure you read the ‘small print’ I was too trusting.

Sadly, property chains can break down through circumstances outside everyone’s control, and we understand how particularly hard that is when you were ready to move.
It means a lot to hear that you were pleased with how hard Homewise tried to support you. We pride ourselves on giving dedicated support throughout the journey and working closely with our customers over many months, free of charge.
We appreciate how disappointing it is to lose money when a move doesn't go ahead and you’re not able to settle into your new home as planned. The £895 fee mentioned covered costs and work already undertaken as part of the purchase process, including the survey work carried out on your chosen property before the move was cancelled, which unfortunately meant the fee could not be refunded.
The moving process can be incredibly stressful, especially when plans change suddenly. We hope that, should you ever wish to resume searching for a new home in the future, you won’t hesitate to reach out to Homewise again. We’ll be here to help.

Homewise immediately cut your equity in half . Or take it all.
Look at their calculator. Homewise offer a so called "uplift" of a few tens of thousands on your property buying budget - but it will cost you at least half of your equity, and up to all of it. Immediately and forever. Offered me "uplift" of £27k in return for half my £260k . Robbers.

Thank you for sharing feedback of our calculator - it's a great tool that can show indicative numbers, but it doesn't give the full picture.
The quick estimate serves as a good starting point but, as everyone’s situation is different and every plan is bespoke, the numbers will always vary depending on what someone is looking to achieve. The best thing is to speak with our team for an accurate quote - and they can answer any questions you might have too.
A Home for Life Plan works differently to buying in the traditional way. It’s a trade-off between owning the property itself and being able to move to a home you might not otherwise afford, and live there for life with no mortgage or monthly rent payments.
We have a new brochure that covers a lot of the detail and explains how it compares to other options like buying the traditional way, renting, equity release etc - you can read this on our website and/or request a copy in the post.
The plan won’t be right for everyone, but it can open up options that may not have felt possible before.
Moving home is a big decision, and finding the right property within budget can be tough. That's why we're proud to offer an alternative option, and provide free support to our customers throughout their journey.

Very informative support
Although I have not yet bought a property through Homewise, what I have done is to seek information about the process. Becci has been excellent - patiently answering many questions over lengthy phonecalls. It has made things really clear and if I find a property that fits the bill, I do think Homewise could be a really good option for me.
