Poor App. I have tried to open and use the app
I have tried to open and use the app, but have found it incredibly difficult to the point I have given up.
Misleading Email Receipt
Thought I had paid for parking, received me an email with the subject "Payment receipt for parking ...", and so assumed everything was Ok. Turns out the payment was declined (which is hiding in the body of the email) and so I received a fine.
Disgusting! They need to be closed down And Gladstone sou
I moved home and had a letter this September at my new address.
Fine is for £330 I have evidence I sent to them I had payed parking.
And they are still taking me to court!
They have amounted. Costs that I was not aware of as I went to Weston 12 months ago and moved home.
I will fight this. And if it comes to it I will offer. A pound a week , as I’m on benefits! Gladstone solicitors should know better working for these cowboys!
Poor leniency with appeals
I took responsibility for a charge notice as I was ignorant of the car park timings at the time, made an appeal for a reduction and not even a write off but it was still rejected.
I think horizontal parking should learn from other private parking agencies to be reasonable and lenient with appeals and also consider that there are some people out there who genuinely innocently and ignorantly make these mistakes.
I can see though, that some reviews have complained same or worse and would advise all be taken into consideration as it does not look good on the overall perception of the company
Visit to Epping Forest
Visit to Epping Forest. Paid for 2 hrs. Stayed 1hr 3mins. Fined £20.
Faulty car registration system.
Stayed at Premuer Inn,Quintrell Downs three times in October. NOW received two charges for first two visits and expecting another for the third.Despite being told by Premier Inn that there was a problem over registering car reg, this was denied by Horizon. They are therefore making a claim based on the CCTV camera but not able to prove you did not enter your car .A private equity company not beneficial to Britain
Scam
As I was paying for parking at Water Gardens using their app today I realised I'd forgotten to pay for parking 4 days ago. When I tried to pay retrospectively using the app it would only let me go back two days. I called Horizon who told me unfortunately they can't accept payment for parking more than 48 hours ago (I'm sure they can, they just won't). I use this car park all the time and have always paid the ~£1 charge for up to two hours, but now I'm going to be penalised for a simple mistake. Seems unfair and the operator wasn't sympathetic at all. I'm sure this happens all the time. They should be penalising customers who are trying to avoid payment, not those who have forgotten by mistake and attempt to rectify!
Thieving scammers.
Thieving scammers.
Yes I stayed 3 hours 56 minutes in the Tesco Chester car park.
I was allowed 4 hours as long as it was validated.
Got home the day to go on the website parktoshop to validate my parking with the code on my shopping receipt.
Website said "maximum stay exceeded" and wouldn't let me.
I decided to wait till the letter came through to prove I was under the four hours.
They fined me for failure to validate. True, but THEIR FAULT.
The photos proved it was under four hours. I appealed and sent screen shots of my validation code and the websites maximum stay exceeded message.
They rejected my appeal.
SCUM.

Rip off merchants
This company appears to be the most prevalent issuer of parking fines among all parking facility providers. They tend to target vehicles when users are utilizing the facilities in the parking lot. Consequently, individuals often receive substantial fines for exceeding the permitted parking duration of fifty minutes. Such practices are deeply disappointing and do not reflect professional standards.
Stupid company that feed off people
Stupid company that feed off people. Got charged for parking somewhere for over 2 hours when the parking sign said 4 hours. When I appealed they sent me an automated message not even answering my appeal properly. Embarrassment of a company.
Sassron Op001740
Sassron Op001740 the manager who hangup the phone on me because she couldn't answer a simple question to help me pay my fine.
In August I got a letter for parking in parent and child bay, with my child and wife. Tried to appeal it but they rejected it for unknown reasons as I never received an answer. Today 6th November I get another letter saying I own £80 (original was £40) I called up and the advisor was more useless than a broken rubber so I asked to speak to a manager which was also at the same very low level of intelligence, as when I asked why did I not receive a rejection response she said "you can write to the department to send it to you ", when I asked if that would make the charge go back to £40 she said, no as it has expired. Then I asked what is the point of me getting the response letter when it's useless she couldn't answer and hang up.
Thanks for the Terrible customer service and thanks to the parking attendant who gives fines to parents with their children for parking at designated spaces made for parents with children. Well done!!
Minus if I could give
Minus if I could give. Absolutely abhorrent unethical issuing of fines. Parked just over one hour Tesco Weston and received penalty £70. We purchased goods in Tesco which we can evidence. What are you thinking Tesco tendering to this unethical company. Won’t be parking an and purchasing at Tesco again. You have shot yourself in the foot Tesco . You are complicit in this and horizon parking are totally exploitative.
They can't raed the time on their tickets
Recived a parking ticket via my car hire company for parking and using Tescos in Gallows Corner Romford for less than 2 hours when parking is free for 4 hours. This company clearly can not tell the time or use a diary as I arrived at 22.07 and left at 00.02 the following day. I spent nearly £500 in Tesco that night. I have been tild by the car hire company that as well as sorting the fine I nwed to pay them £60 admin charge for passing the fine on to me. I have appealled and am sure they will cancel the ticket but have wasted an hour of my life sorting out their mess.
Kings Oak Hotel
Kings Oak Hotel, Loughton.
We stopped for some lovely seafood here, parked up and tried to use the app to pay for parking but no signal so we proceeded to use the machine using coins.
Stupid me, forgot to keep the parking ticket. Didn't know I needed to since it was already in their system. Got a notice for £20 if I paid immediately; I paid it knowing I couldn't prove my case without a ticket or receipt and knew they wouldn't help me fix the situation.
I'll be printing and keeping some "HorizonParking are thieves, keep ticket/receipt" stickers in the car for their machines whenever I park there again just to help everyone out.
Bunch of scam artists.

I paid for 3 hours at fishergate in Preston ,then two weeks later received a letter with a fine for £42 saying I hadn’t paid but could appeal . I appealed with proof of payment going from my bank account to only be informed via email it was rejected. They gave me two weeks to pay a lesser fine of £15 or it would go back up to £42 !! Absolute scam artists !! Why are they allowed to do this ???? Why isn’t the council or ombudsman challenging them on false allegations!!!
They refused my appeal and said there…
They refused my appeal and said there signs aren’t clear were readable but they are tiny signs and I couldn’t read them . They charge you£100 if you park there even if you used where you are going to , so avoid them they are just a money grabbing company that don’t care about the public just there bank accounts
