Awful experience

Manager was rude slagging off staff in front of customers. 1 persons food brought out 20 minutes before everyone else's. Very disappointed for the price. My daughter called to wish myself and a friend happy birthday which wasn't done. A birthday meal ruined.

Top tier seafood boil and not crazy expensive

Had a reservation tonight for 5pm , booking the table was super easy and only took 5 minutes. The staff were super friendly and went through the menus options and ordering as you just scan the QR code . I got the seafood boil and my partner got the shrimp and crab burger , the food was delicious and there was a lot of it for the price , it came to the table pretty quickly so that was a bonus . The atmosphere was chill and the music top tier . Most definitely recommend. 10/10

No Better Seafood in the UK

I wrote this review before but it didn’t post 😑 SO I had to COME BACK to let it be known: THIS IS THE BEST SEAFOOD IN THE UK. As an American who enjoys traveling & experiencing other cultures, I sometimes find myself overseas with a hankering for comfort food…&, boy, did I find it!! The flavors here are IMPECCABLE. The presentation is FIRST-CLASS. The vibe is UNMATCHED. If you’re eating seafood in the UK and it isn’t here then you’re not getting the best.

The service and staff were just so…

The service and staff were just so attentive and nice, the food was sensational!! The takeaway branch and the restaurant is just so clean and aesthetically pleasing. It’s my go to spot!!!

Five stars in my book!!

Five stars in my book!!! I love the seafood boil along with the oysters. I will definitely be coming back on my next visit to London for sure. The staff were extremely professional, and I love the ambience.

Great experience

Great experience! The staff were amazing, the food was out of this world- the flavours on a plate felt like a party in my mouth.
The prices were beyond reasonable! I would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back.

The highlight of the restaurant is the…

The highlight of the restaurant is the seafood boil. The menu offers a variety of fresh seafood options served in generous portions. The seafood was perfectly cooked—tender and flavourful. The atmosphere was fun and vibrant which is due to the friendly service, the staff were attentive and eager to help with recommendations. The servers made sure we had everything we needed.

Incredible!

Amazing customer service, high quality produce, unique flavours and great business ethos. I've been ordering from them for over 5 years and never had an issue - the business has grown, moved and innovated with the times but at its core is respect and love for it's customers, hustle and hard graft. HnJ does not skimp out on anything and can be absolutely trusted to provide you with the best hospitality/flavour experience.

I had such an amazing experience here

I had such an amazing experience here! This is definitely the best seafood boil I’ve had in London! I started with the shrimp sliders WOW WOW WOW! These were spectacular, I had the seafood mania for my mains, everything was so tender and packed with flavour. I’ve been back twice since and they have been consistent.

i booked a table here on sunday

i booked a table here on sunday , was looking sooooo forward to this place and the food , however i was seated and alll me and my friend could smell was the smell of the bins outside.... i had to leave ad wasnt able eat here because of this i was really unhappy.

i think with such a busy restaurant the bins shouldn't' be that close !!! So gutted because i know the food here is amazing ..ALSO i was running ten mins late so i wanted to let them know this they also didnt pick up the line for 25mins !!! i understand you get busy but customer service still comes first !! Dont think ill be returning

Now I’m fuming and won’t ever be…

Now I’m fuming and won’t ever be returning. I gave this place a second chance. Firstly they owed me money that took over 2 months to get back but 2seconds to take. But I was eventually offered a complimentary dish so I went back. I didn’t just go back I took my whole family for my sister birthday, because previously the food was great!

I booked for 11 people and they didn’t have seats for 11 people together. Why this wasn’t reserved I do not know. But my child and my niece had to sit by themselves after 20 mins of faffing around. Now I would have let that slide if the rest didn’t transpire.
The food came out and some people were getting starters and mains and finishing whilst others hadn’t received anything. And before they say it’s the way you order on line no this was people who order FIRST.
When I asked what was going on the young lady serving me was sooo rude, my dad had to get involved and tell her, her attitude wasn’t good enough. She then brought us cutlery which we had been asking for, for over and hour.. (every tried to eat snow crab without the right tools?. ) she slammed them down on the table.
At this point I asked for her manager.

I do not expect to be coming out with my family my mother, father and my three children and be dealing with service of this standard. I repeatedly had to apologise to the table for recommending it. They ruined my sister bday!

My partner then finally received chicken wings. They looked amazing. He took one bite and spat it out I was like can’t be that bad both myself and my dad tried the same piece . The food didn’t even have salt on it . I promise you not it tasted like boiled chicken .. I don’t know how its possibly to have food so bland because even salt alone would rectify this. So we asked for them to be changed. The manage came to let me know that we don’t normally change food after it’s been ordered and eaten. Which I replied you have to taste it know there is an issue. One chicken wing had been eaten one!!. At this point I’m not playing this game with them. I’ve spent myself alone £300+ in here and the service the food is crap!!!
Eventually my food came out at this point I was missing items AGAIN. I asked the young lady to see if they were in the kitchen she informed me they didn’t have them. In return I stated that’s not acceptable AGAIN. She rolled her eyes and told me there busy .

You the company cannot keep charging people for food that you don’t have and writing IOUs which takes months to pay out. You are open 5/6 hours you can do better than this. My table was booked for days. Make sure you have the correct stock.
The manager came to apologise for all the mis haps and believe there was more. She said she’d speak with the owner.

I was then offered a complimentary drink in which I wasn’t going to take one because it didn’t equate to the loss we’d suffered and secondly we were all leaving we’d been there waiting for food and eating separately for hours.

Finally when the food came out it was shocking! Have you ever had over cooked lobster and over cooked prawns.
I was promised by the manager that she was going to look into this and get back to me she made me write my name down etc and guess what NOTHING AGAIN!
I’m stupid for trusting I know but had hoped it was just a blip.
So overview. They won’t reserve your table even though they make you book!
They will charge you for food they don’t have this probably helps their books
You can only order via the app in which you are charged to use the app, liberty!!!
The service depending on who you get it shocking. Unfortunately it’s the demographic and that’s really sad.
Thirdly let’s be honest the quality of the food has gone DOWN hill! Every one on my table had a complaint that they couldn’t even be bothered to voice after the way the evening transpired.
The management never sticks to her word just hopes you’ll forget that you spent a load of money with them on FOOD and if it’s rubbish you’ll get over it.
I’m still waiting to be compensated.
I even stayed behind and helped them clean up the table to speak with her without my family giving there extras. And she called my bluff !

Don’t bother waste your money in here. People can make mistakes it’s how they rectify it, and I can’t stand someone who’s not true to their word. Or businesses that are quick to take your buck but when they mess up your hounding them! I’m all for supporting small business and BO aswell .. but this ain’t it..

The fact I’ve taken so long to write this goes to show how bad that night was this was 6/6/24 what’s the date now ? Still waiting !!

10/10 food 4/10 service

Saw this place on social media and thought it looked great, found no bad reviews online so I booked a table. It was great at first and had a very chill vibe with loud music and a chatty atmosphere. The bar is small but had great drinks. There was three of us and we all went for seafood mania and some sides. Everything was amazing at first, our starter were great and the mains were lovely. But the service was bad I couldn’t tell if it was because they were busy or it was the vibe of the restaurant, but they forgot our napkins, gloves etc and one of our sauces. We had to remind them once for those and multiple times for the sides. They only brought out our two sides near the end of the meal and had one of them at the very very end. You pay through a website and we left a tip, if we knew what the service would be like we probably wouldn’t have. Would go again just because the food is so good.

Experience was good until told we have 10 mins to finish our meal

My partner and I traveled a distance to go to the Hot n Juicy Shrimp in Dulwich. We were 10 mins late due to the traffic riding in the taxi. We called and they said no problem.

We entered and was seated.. we ordered our meal and drinks. The place was not packed out and the atmosphere was ok.

Whilst eating let’s say about an hour and 10 mins we were told that we have 10 min to finish our meal… we were quite thrown back at what was just told to us. We checked the website and we couldn’t find where that was stated.. We asked if they could show us on there website where it states that we have 1 hour and 30 mins to eat out food then leave. They couldn’t show us. At that point our appetite had gone. My partner has an unseen disability in which she cannot eat fast and this was quite concerning to us. We also noticed that people that were there before us were still seated and eating and wasn’t told that they have a timed limit to eat. A worker then came to apologise and told us to take as much time as we want to finish our meal. We just asked for the drink bill as we were quite upset and wanted to leave. We wanted to order desserts and more drinks but as paying customers we couldn’t understand why we were being chased out. The food was great but the unseen policy to vacate after 1 and a half hours is quite disturbing.. We will take our business to other establishments that value us as a customer …

First time dining at Hot n…

It was our first time dining at Hot n Juicy and I was pleased with the service and the food selection. I don’t eat pork so was happy that the sausage was halal. We arrived late for our table so we had a hurried meal, but staff member Paris and Nree worked hard to ensure we could still have a relaxed dining experience. Paris was particularly attentive, and took the time out to ensure we were comfortably seated and our needs met. My only bug bear was the time allowed for dining which is 1.5 hours, so there was little time to relax and chat. The cocktails were also slightly expensive, but very tasty.

Please stay @ home. This was sooooo poor. Calamari starter was diabolical. The crab boil itself was tasteless to say the least. They got our Order wrong, but still charged a service charge. Woke this morning with Diarrhoea. Says it all. One very expensive laxative.

Worst seafood boil I have ever tasted

A review for the location in Bethnal Green. I have been following this page for years, I was so excited to come here for a BIRTHDAY meal and let me tell you, boy was I disappointed. They ask if it’s for a special occasion which we put down and was a waste of time because they don’t do nothing for the special occasion anyway, not a song, not a cake and nothing extra. This was back on June 10th.
We booked a table and had to stand at the door like we’re kids waiting to walk into a classroom and had to wait for other people to leave & for them to clean for about 15 minutes, so they were late for our booking. They were not very friendly and also explained to us how to do the deposit refund (strange) 10 minutes before we sat down so by the time we ordered we had forgotten, there was another room that all the waiters kept sitting in to socialise and go on their phones for ages so we had to wait a further 10 minutes for someone to help us order. After they bring the food they all just disappear again into the other room, not to be seen again.. even when people are leaving, they just sit in there. They only come out to sit the customers down or if they are needed by a customer.
The location first of all was awful and quite a shock, I’m surprised no one else is talking about it. It was a small room that needed decorating, bare walls and the flooring wasn’t done. It was literally just plain room with no decorations & plain brown tables and chairs with a bar on the side. It wasn’t a relaxing experience at all, the music was so loud and we had a man (wearing the tightest shorts) walking around with a fan to his face because it was so small and hot in there. Alongside this, there was stupid chairs that rock back and fourth and not even a table cloth (like they display on their website) on the tables for decoration or to stop our hands touching the sticky tables. Again, this was a birthday meal and it was a disappointing venue to say the least
The food looks NOTHING like their instagram posts, the food was awful 3/10. The food was being brought from an outside venue which was weird, I’m guessing the cooks were across the road and had to be brought up to this nasty venue and up some stairs to us. People who had ordered after us had their food before us, we waited about an hour but yet had a 1.5 hour slot + they were late. Also the placement of the restaurant is strange, you wouldn’t think to have a diner there.. it’s like hidden with the smallest sign. Kinda looks illegal lol.
They got everything wrong and forgot our mac and cheese. We also had to pay for our prawns to be deveined…??? Why would we have to do that? Isn’t that basic rules to take out the digestive track of a prawn in any restaurant? They never did it anyway, so we paid for nothing £5 at that. Some of the prawns were also mushy like mash potato which indicates they aren’t very fresh and quite old.
This isn’t a good restaurant if you only carry cash. We didn’t get a bill at the end like a normal diner, we had to pay for the food online & every single drink or extra that we wanted had to be paid for with a machine stuck in front of our face each time. Charging for full price drinks that was poured from cans into a cup half the size of a can, this was for the sprite or lemonade we ordered but not for the diet cokes to be fair.
They didn’t even have takeaway boxes, we had to ask for this 4 times before someone came, so we had to carry it in a container with no lid. Since there was crab left over I asked if we could take the silly little plastic crab cutter, they said no as we reuse them, after all the money we spent they couldn’t offer a 50p crab cutter for the birthday girl lol
They must only make the food for nice for celebs or influencers because I can’t see HOW this restaurant was featured in the Forbes. It was the most underwhelming experience I think I’ve had in my 23 years of life. When I tell you I have followed their Instagram page from when they FIRST launched, which is a couple of years now, to experience this?!

Horrid, Insipid Seafood Boil Kit

Bought two packs of their Seafood Boil Kit. Tried to contact them about how best to use the kit, no response.

Very poor customer service.

The sauce was horrid. Just a terrible waste of some expensive seafood.

Great shame, but I would have been better to just steam to seafood and throw in some corn and chilli.

More concerning was one of the bottles of dry herbs has clearly been opened before it was sent out to me which indicates very poor quality control.
