My sister and I engaged with Alfred in regard to a house clearance following our mother's move to sheltered housing. Alfred was very helpful and we arranged a clearance date, at very short notice. However, my sister and I (with help from other family members) were subsequently able to clear the property. Alfred was very understanding and was happy to cancel the clearance, without any problem. From the outset, Alfred gave me peace of mind that clearing our late parents’ house, our family home for 48 years, would be done with empathy and care, taking the huge task of emptying it for the new owners off our hands.
Alfred himself inspected the house and contents, which included many pieces of furniture handed down through several generations, and gave us a fair and thorough quote to empty it of all contents, whilst also assuring us that all reusable items would be donated to people in need of them.
He and his team arrived on time on the agreed date, and over the course of 2 days, emptied the house (4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 public rooms, diningroom, kitchen, utility room and attic), laying removable plastic runners to protect the carpets throughout the house during the job. (They also suggested leaving this plastic down for the new owners move-in, which we did).
Knowing that all reusable items in the house would be upcycled and donated to people in need of them was the main reason we chose House Clearance Scotland, having met with 2 other companies. The price was fair given the enormous scope of the job, the time it would take, and the cost of disposal and recycling of items which were not reusable.
Even when I inadvertantly left items in the drawers of a dresser that had been removed, Alfred went above and beyond, retrieving the items from the dresser (by this time in storage) and returning them to me the next day.
I can’t thank Alfred and his team enough for taking care of what seemed an overwhelming and daunting task for us, with care, empathy and compassion, and for making sure people in need would benefit from vast majority of the house contents.

Alfred and team did a fantastic job of clearing my parents’ home of 45 years. Not only were the house and garage completely emptied but the house was left spick and span. Made contact with Alfie , he came prompt on a Sunday met me , agreed a price and a date , his boys turned up on time and set about clearing the house making sure they were recycling as the boxes and bags were moved , they were courteous, and sympathetic to the situation , 3 hours later they had cleared the whole house and were on their way , special thanks to Gary and his team for making the hard task better , alflie also made contact with Martain his expert carpet cleaner and had the carpets spotless when he left all in all well worth the money spent to get the house cleared , I’d recommend this company 100% to deal with .
