Housing Anywhere is full of hostile low quality landlords and Housing Anywhere claims no responsibility after move in despite steep fees

Housing Anywhere does not want to help with problems. They allow abusive and negligent landlords use their platform to gain new customers and after the contract is signed Housing Anywhere claims no responsibility.

I have used Housing Anywhere twice, in one case the landlord extorted me for money, Housing Anywhere refused to help. Another case the landlord just refuses to address complaints and only cares about rent ignoring its own duties as a landlord, again Housing Anywhere claims they are not interested.

By using Housing Anywhere you are using a platform that does not select the landlords based on reputation, which makes Housing Anywhere unsafe.

Housing Anywhere charges a steep fee for the bookings and then claims no responsibilities on the issues after you move in. It means we pay Housing Anywhere to be on our own, making Housing Anywhere a wild west where you can't count neither on their help neither you can trust Housing Anywhere's landlords, there are scammers and just fraudsters in the midst.

Housing Anywhere is all in all untrustworthy because they allow bad landlords with a track record of bd and hostile behavior to stay on their platform. Housing Anywhere puts the safety and the satisfaction of the renter in last place. It is a bad product with bad listings and the platform cares little to not a at all.

Once they have taken your money they don't care if the landlord treats you badly or behaves illegally entering the apartment when she wants.

Stay FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS SITE

Stay Away from Anywhere you are! The sit itself might not be entirely a scam but here is what happened to me: Was interested in a flat in Berlin; said "no deposit". Was asked to give credit card details " to show landlord additional commitment" Before the first message / contact with the landlord my bank calls and told me 3,000EUR were requested as payment! Crazy. Thank god they didn't authorize. STAY AWAY. DO NOT ENTER YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS. DO NOT USE THIS SITE

Supposedly reliable

Supposedly reliable, I was double-charged by both Colive and Housing Anywhere, which is described on this site as a reliable landlord. The result: nearly €3,000 down the drain for a single room.

very nice apartment and very wel located but noise horrible

very nice apartment and very well located, fast check in, it’s a shame the cleaning was never done in the room before our arrival but on the other hand a part of the deposit was charged to us for a lack of storage in the common areas for which I was not responsible. Several incidents (lack of hot water) that take a long time to process. I underwent the sound birth of construction of a building in front of my window that had been reported as short and not very disturbing! So mixed experience.

Price not clear from the beginning

I found the process of renting confusing at various stages. The most important point was that the price that I was offered when selection the property was not the definite price: when I ask for renting the place, the landlord gave a higher price. For this reason, I would not recommend housinganywhere.com to my friends.

Also, it was difficult to find out which document were compulsory and how to share them with the landlord at a later stage.

It would have been nice to have reviews about the properties and landlords like in other platforms.

The landlord there collected deposit by…

The landlord there collected deposit by cash and claimed it'd be refunded in 3 days. But never came back and landlord ghosted me for 4 months. Housing anywhere did not help at all.
The landlord is Johannes Boldt, CEO & Founder of johannesboldt-consulting.com
The house is located in Vienna, Austria.

Just another site to charge you more and not help.

Housing anywhere is just another site taking advantage of erasmus students and short mobilities. They do everything possible to avoid any responsability in case there is a problem with the landlord. Not only that, they decide which reviews to publish in the landlords page, so I just found out that a landlord that stole my deposit and that I reported (of course they didn't do anything), not only didn't get my review published (so he still showed up with an impresive good mark), but also scammed another person the same way. Housing anywhere is only there to charge you 150 euros or more for the booking, and then is up to you. Better to avoid them completely.

Edit: (1) No Jacques, you are not sorry. (2) No, I don't "believe" my deposit was not returned, it is a fact. (3) As a platform your responsability was at the very least to investigate in the fraudster landlord. Instead you closed the investigation without a single contact with me or publication, and as a result another person recently got scammed in the same way. Despite this fact, today (23/03/2026) the landlord is still operating in the platform, potentially scamming more people.

You guys could not care less about these matters, all you want is getting your operating fee.

Finding a summer vacation property

Many properties showed up for our search, although not all them strictly followed our search filters. Still, we ultimately found we were looking for in Den Hague. The website was great, showing properties throughout the Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam areas.

Dreadful experience
No assistance was given when the landlord refused to pay deposit even though a tenant safety fee was taken each month. Once they connect you with a number you are on your own and they charge you monthly.

Bad experience

In general, I would not recommend this experience, as one month before my contract was due to end, I informed the landlord that I wanted to extend it, but I did not receive any response until 15 days before the end date. After contacting her several times and following up, I still received no reply.

Additionally, I was told that my deposit would be returned within 10 days, but after multiple attempts and repeated follow-ups, I only received it two months later. I find this unacceptable.

Great accommodation and great landlord. Everything was perfect

I enjoyed my stay at the accommodation between May 3 and September 28, 2024. Everything was perfect! My stay was great. The accommodation is very comfortable and very clean. Paid all, money stuck, no room

I booked and paid rent+fee+deposit+tax and i was told just before my moving date that the room has already been booked by someone else. Now my €2K is blocked with them. There is no tanent protection. No-one doesn't reply and care. please think twice before availing service from this company. Highly disappointed.
