I wanted to choose a chair that exactly met my requirements - looked good in a style and colour to suit my room and would give me perfect support and comfort. Gina gave me time and expert advice and I'm awaiting my new chair with excitement. It was a very positive experience.

This is the very first time I have placed an order with the company. I am using a petite size two seat sofa at present but it is really too small in reality.

This chair I have placed the order for, is the standard size for protection of my knees. It is going to be made to my requirements in Capri Plum Velvet fabric, which is wonderful.

I cannot wait to see this item in reality.

We were greeted in a very friendly way by Kelly, she was very professional and helpful, her explanations of different seizing was something we had not appreciated all must helpful

we found the display set up in an orderly way that was easy to compare the difference between chairs

Excellent advice and customer service at the shop in Exeter. Quality of the chair is amazing. Sadly, the original delivery plan fell apart with no-one knowing exactly what happened. Revised delivery went to plan with no problems and HSL refunded the delivery charge as an expression of goodwill. I feel this is a fair outcome.

As soon as I entered Exeter HSL Michelle and Rachel greeted me. I already knew what I was going to purchase, needed advice on size etc. I was offered coffee and a sit down and chat about my ensuing purchase. They talked me through everything I needed to know and made I my purchase. They were so very friendly and knowledgable about everything in store. I was promised express delivery and Andrew and Wayne arrived 3 days later, after informing me of time of arrival. Two very pleasant chaps, considerate about their shoes, delivered chair competently with no hassle. Thank you, all of you, you are all a credit to HSL, I hope you are appreciated..👍👍

Andy & Wayne delivered the new sofa, put it together for me, very pleasant guys they were today 23rd June 2025. I shall enjoy the new sofa as earlier today I almost fell asleep on the new sofa, so comfy. Thank you both of you :)

We purchased one Stressless chair a few weeks back and have been so pleased with it that we went in and got a second one. Kelly was so helpful, as before, and having checked for the correct size, the whole deal was completed seamlessly Thank you Kelly.

We took my 95 year old mother to this outlet to look at rise/recliner chairs.
Michelle, the sales member of the team was absolutely brilliant with us all. She was patient and kind with my Mum ,who is forgetful and hard of hearing. Michelle did not hurry us, and really was very informative re the company and the products. She gave us plenty of time for Mum to decide which fabric to have for her chosen chair.

We purchased the chair, and the follow up communications re delivery were also very clear. When the chair arrived, the two delivery men ( sorry, did not get their names ) were also extremely helpful and polite. The chair was set up within minutes and all wrapping removed and taken away.
I would 100% recommend this company.

From entering the shop to leaving, the service was exceptional. The staff member was interested in me and my expectations in purchasing a riser reclining armchair, with knowledge of the products and how to ensure my own particular circumstances were taken into consideration. I was guided in my choice of chair and the advantages of the many motor options available; in the choice of fabric colour and design and the personalised correct fitting of the chair itself. Overall the whole experience was satisfying and productive.

My elderly mum was a little apprehensive about buying a recliner chair , but the whole experience was made vey relaxed and welcoming thanks to Rachel in Exeter . We were looked after so well Rachel was very informative , understanding and patient and made the whole process very reassuring for her . My mum would also like to add that Rachel had made the best cup of tea ever !!! Would recommend highly a visit to the marsh Barton showroom in Exeter

The showroom staff were very knowledgeable and were able to guide one to the right solution. Likewise the delivery men, Martin and Jack were prompt, efficient and friendly.

We visited the HSL shop in Exeter, where we were welcomed by Michelle, who really helped with our search for a comfortable chair. My husband who is tall was finding it difficult to find something suitable. A chair was identified & to give my husband time to sit and feel if this was the right one. Michelle kindly gave us tea and biscuits. Plus lots of materials to choose from, while we relaxed & made our choice. There was no hard sell, just useful and helpful information. The furniture is built in the North of England, with excellent quality materials, which in this day & age sadly is unusual. Yes the chairs are expensive, but we feel money well spent on a piece of furniture that will last.

Kelly was very knowledgable of all the products and gave a very detailed and thorough account of everything we needed to know. She made sure, both in the showroom and afterwards, that we had all the information we needed and followed up afterwards to ensure our complete satisfaction.

We started our search for a new three piece suite to replace our 40 year old one in February. We visited a number of showrooms in the local area and further afield, including HSL at Exeter where we finally decided on the Bramham range after three visits. The staff at the store, Kelly and Michelle, were so incredibly helpful, obviously well trained in what would suit customers in terms of comfort and support and very, very patient. There is no sales pressure here. When you're spending £5K+ you need the time to consider before you commit and this we were given. Kelly and Michelle were both very helpful when it came to choosing fabric colour, letting us take home small samples and helping us test out larger pieces on the furniture in store. Can wholeheartedly recommend.

Excellent friendly and helpful staff at your Exeter showroom. Delivery as promised, Stressless recliner so comfortable that I’m hoping to persuade my husband to have one too! What more can I say?!

As soon as we walked & wheeled into the Exeter shop Kelly made us feel so at home and welcomed,
My mother in law is in a wheelchair and she did have to try 3 chairs in order to get the right one, but we were never rushed or made to feel that we were being awkward!
We went to look but within the hour had made the decision to not bother going anywhere else as the customer service we received was second to none.
My in-laws are looking forward to their delivery tomorrow

We had a good idea of what we wanted before going to HSL, but after being expertly guided through all our options by Kelly, we realised that buying a chair is a bit more complicated than we thought. You need the correct chair for your height, build and individual needs. Kelly was very patient as we hopped from chair to chair and pondered over fabrics, making the whole experience a positive one. We are looking forward to delivery and hope the rest of our experience goes as smoothly.
