I tried a Vester but then swapped to a Virum Step. Both bikes superb in build and ease of use, but I didn't need the off road capabilities of the Vester - hence the swap. Throughout the process, Hygge (Andrea) were superb - kept me informed throughout and made the whole process simple. I can't praise them highly enough. I love the Virum Step - it's so easy to use and fun to ride.
My Virum Hyggebike drives me around the countryside easily and without worries.
I have only experienced great service from the company, fast delivery and always quick responses to inquiries.
I've had my Hygge Virum (Racing Green) now for 3 weeks, so it's still quite early to be writing a review, but in that time I've done just over 100km. I have a knee/hip injury from running and this ebike has got me active again. I did a lot of research and comparisons before choosing this bike and felt it was the best fit for me. Things I like- comes fully built, light for an ebike, comes with mudguards, pannier and lights etc. I've found it does the miles it states with the battery- I've only charged it twice- once when I got it, and after 60km, when it had gone to 30 percent battery. I mainly keep it at level 1, but increase the power on hills. Things that could be improved- when I bought it, it did not state on the website that it was currently out of stock, so I had to wait for it to be sent, and contact them about when that would be. I have had a rattle on the folding mechanism, but spent 5 mins working out how it should be tightened (an adjustable bar) and now it is tight and doesn't rattle- I haven't seen any instructions for this- although maybe I have missed them, so clearer instructions would be good. We have another folding bike and that has a magnet on the side of the wheels to keep it closed when folded. With the Virum you use a velcro strap, which is just not as convenient as a magnet. Overall though the bike is fantastic. I have taken it away with me and I am able to lift it in and out of our campervan. I've added a handlebar bag, bottle holder (to one set of the side screws where the front basket would go), a pannier, and I've upgraded the seat to an even more padded one- although the one supplied is cushioned. The power options are great. I have only used power 5 on a particularly steep hill, but I now feel confident to tackle any hill. The brakes are great. I was a bit worried about a bike with no suspension but the Virum tyres are like a hybrid bike tyre and it goes on trails and over tree roots with ease. I've been shopping with it and used the pannier rack and supplied bungee cord to put a pack of 8 cans of coke on the rack and a full pannier of shopping on one side, and it didn't feel unbalanced at all. I have put it on the Bike Register (UK) and bought an expensive angle grinder resistant lock, so hopefully I will have many happy years of cycling with it.
It's August 2025 and the team over at Hygge certainly have lived up to their reputation of dedicated customer service in how they have patiently dealt with me. They've supported me in my email queries and feedback suggestions. I recently purchased their Virum folding ebike for proper portability after having still owned their Vester model. I do manifest that eventually Hygge would rise to the top of eBike's here in the UK due to the ingredients of good quality EU centric eBikes, honestly priced eBikes and attentive customer service. I should also mention the attraction of the Danish flag on their eBikes for that cherry-on-the-cake Scandinavian glamour which is always a selling point, just ask skincare company Neutrogena. Hygge team, keep doing what you do and don't falter! Many thanks.
Bought Virum. The bike arrived before time it was promised. Had a small damage on the bar, but they offered to send fill-in paint, as a first step. I am happy with that, since it's not big, but told them that in case it shows on some other places, I keep option to ask for replacement. They suggested they were happy with that, and asked me to contact them again if needed.
Also, I bought the lock, which looks great, but it's not insurance approved, which they accepted immediately and offered panier as a replacement.
Good and prompt communication.
The helmet is great, too.
The bike itself is as promised. Rides nicely and I am happy so far with it.
The whole process from the beginning to end was really easy, customer service was really responsive to all my questions and the bike was delivered exactly when promised, with the company calling ahead. The bike itself is fantastic, I use it for daily quite long commutes for up to an hour without any issues, the battery lasts for 4 days. Have been recommending them to everyone :)
Love love love our 1st Hygge Aarhus bikes, we love the freedom and the hills that used to take the pleasure out of our journey are now little ones and effortless. Hardly using the batteries. We love the chic design.
Andrea was so helpful by email arrangements and despite me having to change dates for delivery and refunds for helmets everything went to plan. Best gift to us and investment ever!
My hygge vester is fantastic it's a brilliant e bike it gets me to work in half the time. It is much bigger than expected it's well balanced the computer system is simple to use I set up a pass code for added security. I would recommend the hygge vester to anybody and everybody. You can not go wrong with hygge e bikes they brilliant well made machines. And the customer service is excellent my bike was delivered without the velcro strap but I contacted hygge and the strap was dispatched promptly. With hygge you have high quality e bikes at a reasonable price. Highly recommend
I couldn’t be happier with my electric bike – it’s honestly the best purchase I’ve made in a long time. The build quality is excellent, the ride is smooth, and the power assistance makes every journey a pleasure, whether I’m commuting or just riding for fun. The battery life has really impressed me too – it lasts much longer than I expected, and charging is quick and easy.
What I love the most is the freedom it gives me. Hills that used to feel impossible are now effortless, and I can cover much longer distances without getting tired. It feels solid, reliable, and really well-designed.
If you’re thinking about getting an e-bike, I can’t recommend this one enough. It has completely changed the way I travel, and I actually look forward to every ride now. Best investment ever!
Excellent customer service, great experience
First class service, great bike really well made and fast delivery, since having the bike I've done over 200 miles and really pleased with it's ease of use, I just changed the seat for a comfort seat which has made a big difference.
I highly recommend Hygge cycles.
The guys at Hygee have been great in helping me get the right bike. They allowed me to return the original for the lighter Virum. Could not have asked for better service.
I don't normally write reviews, but my experience from start to finish has been so good I felt compelled to share.
My brief was quite simple, a lightweight foldable ebike with the ability to remove the battery for charging.
The Hygge Virum appeared to tick all the boxes. I placed the order using the Cycle2work scheme and within a week it was delivered.
Great 2 man service using Furdeco delivery and I was amazed that the bike really was 95% built. The box is absolutely huge but the setup was so simple.
The Virum is a great, fun bike! London streets are easily dealt with. The brakes are sharp, steering really light and the pedal assist so simple to use.
I had a huge smile after my first ride :-)
The whole bike feels so well made and the folding process is actually easier than I thought it would be- I just need to remember to fold out the pedals!
So far, I'm a very happy customer.
Well done Hygge and thank you to their staff who I dealt with!
The bike: Vester - she's beautiful and sturdy, a very solid build and perfect for my daily commute and camping excursions. She's like the Nokia 6110 of e-bikes. Cons: heavy but just think of it as built-in weight training.
The customer service: Brilliant, just brilliant. Real people actually talking to their customers, their reselling agents and each other.
The Customer: If you're like me, a middle aged couch potato trying to get more active, start here. Early days yet but my commute is something I look forward to now and I'm already looking for the longer routes home.
Love my new virum bike which is so much lighter than my other electric bikes. It’s easier to ride and I’m actually pedalling more because I can. Better still, living in a hilly area, it was always difficult to get the pedal assist going at the bottom of a hill on my previous big wheeled bikes, but my Virum takes very little effort to kick in. It’s given me my confidence back to ride more frequently.
We bought my Wife’s bike from Hygge last year. Brilliant bike, great design and well put together.
I have just purchased my bike from them (Vester).
Another excellent bike and service is second to none.
Thanks to Burhan for his online advice and Andrea who dealt with the delivery.
Cannot fault Hygge for quality and service.
They make ordering so quick and simple they have a great range of bikes that when delivered are practically ready to go with the minimum of effort on the customers part which was perfect for me. Any queries or questions are answered quickly as well the customer service is second to none.
From prompt, helpful responses to email questions pre purchase, to amazing, quality, sturdy, pleasurable & head turning, amazing hygge vester electric bikes
Got my first ever bike (SO3215) with Hygge, and it has been an absolute delight. Super comfortable, reliable and also reasonably priced - this has been a great experience so far. No complaints. Highly recommend this brand!
I am very happy with the purcase.Burhan was really helpful and give me an amazing support with informations about insurance he did also send me an email with the e bike book so I can read all I need about it.
When I received the bike for my son it was problem with the key as it was not matching with the battery from e bike but again Burhan was the one who was there to help and assured me that will change the key and will do the best to help me thru this process without stressing myself so much.
I am really really happy with this company and I gladly recommend it.They disserve more than 5 stars DEFINITELY
