A Company That Allows Scammers to Rent
I am requesting a refund for the whole time I had rented a vehicle from own of their owners. HyreCar allows for owners in Texas to rent out their vehicles illegallynusing fake temporary plates. They dont seem to grasp that Uber deactivates you for any violation that appears on your record. Their response through the BBB was despicable only calling it an "inconvenience." I will NOT stop till I get my full money back or a settlment in court especially if I am unable to get my ticket dismissed. Disgusting company. Furthermore, they still let that same company rent cars through their app.
The price is NOT worth losing your life.
They won’t help you if anything happens to the car while driving. Their was FLAMES coming out the car in the middle of the highway and representative didn’t care. Please use zipcar they are more professional I promise you the price is not worth your life.

HYER by far is the WORST app EVER for Hosts. First, the app itself isn't user friendly like TURO, which means you can't access the platform from the app! Customer service is also horrible. For example, just ran into an issue 3 days ago of someone who didnt return my vehicle. Only to be told by customer services they have 72hrs to not return the vehicle. Then, the person took the vehicle out of state and told me to come and pick it up and is now refusing to bring my vehicle back. Getting ready to file a police report and HOPE customer services will now step in to intervene after 3 days. Unacceptable and I am very dissappointed. Will not use Hyer again after this incident and I will be sure to tell anyone to use Turo instead.
Update 5/10/22: Filed police report on Saturday...its now Tuesday, still haven't heard from recovery team! Everything is done without giving you a number to call..so waiting on them! Hyer responded with file police report #, lol...seriously..thats a joke like I'm not competent to follow procedure...not getting any better at this point!
Update 5/11/22: Car recovered, but now I have to arrange to pick it up. Here is the last message from HyerCar.
Yes, unfortunately you will have to pick up your vehicle. If the police had recovered the vehicle, you would have to go to retrieve it. It is unfortunate that she abandoned the vehicle, but we have recovered the vehicle and is stored securely. Please let me know who will be picking up the vehicle.

I listed my vehicle on Hyrecar. I got three appointments. The third trip/appointment didn’t come back with my vehicle. He crashed it after being MIA for a month. Hyrecar outsourced the claim to their claim company Sedgwick. This happened in December of 2021. I picked my car up from the impound in January of 2022. It’s May 2022 and I still haven’t received my vehicle from the body shop. My body shop has expressed repeatedly how Sedgwick is not answering his emails or calls for checks needed for payments that were supposed to be approved. The associate initially handling my claim/file. She was MIA unresponsive to me and the body shop, after a few weeks of calling and tracking someone with answers at Sedgwick. I find out she quit and my claim is sitting on her empty desk. Sedgwick forwarded my file to another associate in the company. Weeks go by, waiting, waiting my body shop informs me they’re having trouble and issues communicating with Sedgwick. The associate with Sedgwick is MIA. I call after hearing this from my body shop. I call Sedgwick and speak with the associate. He tells me one of the two weeks he’s been MIA and unresponsive to my body is because he was vacationing. He also mentioned the check my body shop is currently waiting on that he said was approved. Hadn’t been approved by his supervisor and they were on vacation. So there wasn’t any systems or resources to attend to my file while you both were on vacation? And I’ll mention this again I still haven’t received my vehicle. You list your vehicle on Hyrecar. Beware and mindful. If your car is crashed or damaged. Sedgwick and Hyrecar are not using the philosophy. “Time is of the essence” I have been without my car for six months and my body shop keeps expressing it’s the claim company Sedgwick that’s prolonging the process. My body shop has said I would have had my car back a month ago if it wasn’t for the mishandling of the process by Sedgwick. Hyrecar outsourced my claim to Sedgwick. Sedgwick along with hyrecar and the individual who crashed my vehicle are responsible and liable.

Rented a car, got into an accident and paid the car owner back in 2019. Here we are, almost 3 years later and HyreCar is still refusing to withdraw my case from debt collection. I provided them a screenshot FROM THEIR OWN PLATFORM where the car owner states to their "Collections Specialist" that the matter has been taken care of but to no avail. Daniel O. asked me to send him evidence of the payment and after I did, HyreCar accused me of typing up the screenshot information FROM MY BANK STATEMENT on my computer. What?! Save yourself the headache and do not use their service.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. I rented my car for the first time on HyreCar my very first booking. HyreCar claims they did a background check comes to find out the renter had a prior of vandalism people car. My car was trashed. Was not returned same way it was received.I had to go pick it up myself. She left my car on the side of the road unattended and unlocked. It was not starting,the renter had mixed oils in my engine. Now my engine is blown. Have to get a brand no engine smh. And HyreCar does not care that the renter that they did a background check on trashed and ruined my car and they are not doing anything about it. Worst company ever. Everybody’s giving you the runaround‘s nobody has the same answer. Constantly calling back just to get a different answer from someone else.

Hyrecar review.
Everything was fine until I got charged for an extra day of rental AFTER DROPPING THE CAR OFF. I called very upset and they gave me a refund which I won’t see until a week from now. Such an inconvenience. I chose Hyrecar because they were cheaper, I guess you get what you paid for customer service and all.

AWFUL first Impression.
This is my first experience with HyreCar looking for a more affordable options for car rental while my personal vehicle is in the shop and i am highly disappointed and upset. Yesterday 04/04/2022 I rented a vehicle via HyreCar; the car looked great from the outside but I didn't know it had many underlying issues until I returned home with the car which was about 40 minutes away. The car didn't have a working radio, there were numerous warning lights on in the dashboard (tire pressure, trunk and traction control), the trunk didn't open, the key remote didn't work for locking/unlocking, the car stalled when starting it this morning and the car was not clean. Is there no screening process for these vehicles?!?!? I've called customer service multiple times and shared with them my experience and how i feel unsafe in this vehicle and have been told it could take up to 5 days to issue me a refund. Crazy because it only takes 5 seconds to take my money. I've also been told that would not be transferred to a supervisor. This is not ok!

Be extremely wise and careful! Proceed with caution. I rented and returned with gas( 3xs more than received) kept sanitized, car washes! Very clean drivers No accidents in 30 years! Returned car paid for car. Went to rent again said I’m not eligible owner put claim in for bumper😩😩😩. I said ok I’ll just wait til claim close. 2 months later I keep getting alerts from my credit card company I have a 860.00 invoice submitting for deductible😳. What did the insurance pay? Never emailed me or texted me anything regarding claim.

Broken/Illegal Rentals
The first car I rented broke down the same day, and I was issued a refund. This second car I rented, had an illegal tag, and not properly insured. I was pulled over and issued a citation, law enforcement took the tag off the car and said it could no longer be driven. Hyre car needs a better screening process on those they allow to rent their cars out, this was the most ridiculous thing to ever have to experience through a rental service. I wouldn’t recommend!

THEY ARE NOT EXCEPTED BY LYFT and won’t issue a refund. Insanely unprofessional and unorganized.
The car I received was disgusting and filthy, and by the time I tried to switch to the rental in the Lyft app an error came up claiming the insurance Hyre provided wasn’t accepted.
I went ahead and contacted HyreCar and the owner and they just pushed me to try Uber instead. I don’t have an account with Uber so I asked to just return the car, in which both Hyre and the owner agreed to a full refund.
I returned the car first thing the following morning. It’s been 3 weeks and for some reason they only issued me a 1 day refund even tho they already agreed to a full refund. Now they’re beating around the bush saying the owner is denying the refund. Unfortunately I had to call my bank to dispute the remaining charges. It’s been the worst headache.
It’s really ridiculous that they’re are still promoting this as an alternative for a Lyft rental when they clearly know they are not accepted by Lyft. This feels extremely SCAMMY and I would stay far away from this company.

Emilio is such a wonderful account manager, for months I have been having issues with my account and he came one day and solved all my issues.
Very patient and understanding and always checks on his clients.
I am more confident with my business knowing he is my support for hyrcar service.
